BioWare is once again returning to the San Diego Comic Con and this year, we are bringing Mass Effect 3 and a never before seen, Dragon Age II DLC with us. Comic Con begins Thursday July  21 and runs through Sunday July 24 and we will have all sorts of awesome BioWare coolness at our base in the Hilton Gaslamp hotel.  This will be the first opportunity for fans to play Mass Effect 3 as well as the next Dragon Age II DLC.  In addition, we will be hosting the first annual BioWare Costume Contest on Friday, July 22 for the best BioWare inspired costumes.  We’ll be giving away awesome convention swag, opportunities to meet members of the BioWare staff, and we’ll have a special designated area for cos-play character photo opportunities and much more.

Make sure you come and visit us at the Hilton Gaslamp (401 K Street) to experience everything live (remember, you do not need a comic con badge to take part). If you can’t visit us in San Diego, make sure you stay tuned to the BioWare Pulse TV broadcasts where we will be keeping everyone up to date with live broadcasts all day, each day.

We’ll be revealing more details about the events at the BioWare base as we get closer to the event. Make sure you plan to visit BioWare at the San Diego Comic Con or check back for details on BioWare Pulse broadcasts live from the event.  Follow us @MassEffect and @BioFeed for more details on Comic Con. :)

Edit: I can now confirm that Star Wars: The Old Republic with also be at San Diego Comic Con. They will be at the BioWare Base in the Gaslamnp Hilton and in teh convention hall at the Lucasarts/Star Wars booth. You do not need passes to visit us at the BioWare Base in the Gaslamp Hilton, but you do need Comic Con badges to get into the convention hall.

Edit Part 2: We have now added details about the Fan Art Showcase. You can check them out here.

Edit Part 3: We have now added details about the Costume Contest. You can check them out here.

So... DAII DLC isn't getting showcased for another month?

It better be on the level of an expansion. And come with a toolset :-/

Wonder if they'll release any info on the DLC before SDCC?

It will be the first chance for fans to play the DLC, okay, but we'll hear more about it before then.... right?

double word.

Well, except for the toolset bit. They can keep that.

But for the first chance to play being the end of July, this had certainly better be packaged as DA2_PRC_EP1, if you know what I'm saying.

And you need to hurry up with the hi-res textures already.

If the dlc is just another 30-45 minute quest, then I'm going to just uninstall DA2 for good.

Seriously guise, Awakening was released less than four months after Origins. This "DLC" better be huge.

Exciting, I have a 98% chance of being there. I may actually be getting a bit giddy.

Peeps be doin it wrong.

BioWare, this DLC better be as BIG as Awakening, have a toolset, totally remake the first game, and let me ride on the back of a gryphon that shoots lightning balls out its mouth or I will NEVER BUY A BIOWARE GAME AGAIN!

Signed,
Your one true fan

I will just post my reply from the ME3 annoucement forum.

So is Bioware just Demoing the next Dragon Age 2 DLC at the Con or will the DLC be release around the same time as the Con?
If just Demoing, can we take this as a Sign that the DLC will be pretty big?
What is the Reason for showing off the DLC at the con. Is it to reassure people who were upset at DA2 that this DLC has corrected some of the criticism found with the main game or is this DLC just that big of a deal to the DA universe?

Signed. It better be free too. ^_^

But seriously, taking all this time and all the talk about the DLC sure are creating a lot of expectations... I hope Bioware can deliver it.

I am in awe of your unshakable ability to one-up me in anything and everything I do.

And when I say "in awe," I mean it's totally hot.

I'm more curious about the DA2 DLC.

Will we be hearing details about it before Comic-Con and it will be shown off in all its glory there, or are we waiting for the Con to release the details?

I wouldn't say I'd never buy a Bioware game again, but that does sound pretty cool..

Though I liked DA2 for what it was, the DA1-style DLC really isn't going to cut it this time.

Yeah, one of the last in a long line of DLC. For a game that was released almost a year earlier.

People aren't expecting big things because they're pimping it at a convention. They're expecting it to not be suck because it will be the first time for anybody to play it AT THE END OF JULY. For a game that came out at the beginning of March. That nobody even liked. That they said they wanted to incorporate all the hateful suggestions in. Where one of the leaders of the company brings it up in an interview of how they want to do right by the players.

So yeah. When it sucks (and it will), the hate is coming back to the forums. And it's bringing all its friends with it this time. The least they can do is make sure it's substantial so there'll be something to do while the forums are unusable.

Is that really as unreasonable as Maria tries to make it seem? I don't think so.
