Your ME2 save is located
Example
C:\\Users\\ME\\Documents\\BioWare\\Mass Effect 2\\Save\\Brandon_12_Vanguard_#####

For those who used a save editor, Change the name of your folder to

Nameere_12_classhere_012610

Those numbers are important. if you use a save editor it will not have the right numbers, this will fix your issue

Same problem here, I tried running the config utility but there doesn't appear to be a way to set the saves directory..

How do you mess something up like this, Like really? The 2nd game had a folder option in the config, and this doesnt?

Looks like there is a setting in the gamersettings.ini file going to try editing that.

Same issue as well, can we get some sort of help as to where the save needs to be or what the issue might be?

Got it working now lol. Not sure how, I think there was a problem in my ME2 saves folder I just made a new directory "John_12_Soldier_230212" and with my saves in it and it worked. The numbers on the end are just the date format.

This fix still isn't working for me.  I wonder if it's because my game is the RU version, so it might be looking in a different directory?

I made a folder called John_30_Vanguard_200212 and placed my .pcsav inside of that folder (the Bioware/Mass Effect 2/Save folder), but nothing is popping up when I'm looking for it in game.  It shuold be .pcsav, correct?  Does the save name actually need to be called something specific?

I got mine to work by just throwing all my save files in the root "saves" folder, rather than each in individual folders
