I was told to post here by EA support
for help after a lengthy discussion. I'm trying to get the Battlefield 3 skin, and have been since 03/07. Finally, EA support told me to create a thread both on these forums as well as the Battlefield 3 forums. They said a moderator should be able to help me get the skin.

Here's my
experience:

You:
Hi. I own Battlefield 3 for the PC, and just purchased Mass Effect 3 CE
for the Xbox 360. I was told that there is a Multiplayer skin for
Battlefield 3 owners for ME3 Multiplayer, but haven\\'t received the
skin. Is it not for cross-platform games? Can I still get the skin for
my Xbox 360 game?

Thanks!

Advisor: Hello Greg,

Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts again.

After
having reviewed your case, I understand you have been requesting
Multiplayer skin for a while now. Actually, tef I am graul to you for
your interest in Mass Effect 3.

Regarding your request, please
allow me to clarify that currently no promotions are being run and hence
no codes are being disbursed. Had it been possible, I would have
certainly issued you one.

Please feel free to get back to us with
any other questions and requests. I assure it would be looked into
sincerely. I hope your affiliation with Electronic Arts continues.

Regards,
Aparna

You:
Hello. I see that you state no promotions are being run, and no codes
are being given. I own both Battlefield 3 and Mass Effect 3, and know
that there is a multiplayer skin available if you own both of these
titles. I've seen it in-game. Is there a reason that I can't get one
even though I own both games? I'm not sure I understand why I cannot get
the skin.

You: Hello? Any updates on this issue?

03/15/12 at 07:52 PM
You: I've been awaiting a resolution for this case for quite a while now. Any updates?

03/16/12 at 07:05 PM
You:
I started inquiring about Mass Effect 3 DLC for the Battlefield 3 skin
on 03/07. I can't believe I haven't received a resolution for my issue
as of yet. Your site states that someone will be in contact with me
within 24 hours, but it's been DAYS with no response. I'm losing
patience here. I've always been a loyal EA supporter, but ignoring my
concerns makes me think twice about your loyalty to the consumer. Please
respond in a timely fashion.

Advisor: Hello Greg,

Thank you for Contacting Electronic Arts.

Please
note that the skin will be unlocked during the game play. In this case I
only suggest you to please play the game for some time and you will be
able to get the skin after crossing some levels in the game.

Should
you have any further questions, please take a moment to review our
Knowledge Base site at http://help.ea.com or do let us know.

Sincerely,
Kapil
Electronic Arts – World Wide Customer Experience.

You:
Kapil, thank you for finally giving a response to my inquiry. I still
have a question regarding the skin, though. You state that it will be
unlocked for playing the game. Which game should I play to unlock the
skin? Battlefield 3, or Mass Effect 3?

Thank you!

You:
Hi, Vikrant. That was my original issue, I think. I have been playing
Battlefield 3 online since it lauched, and have been playing ME3
multiplayer since launch as well. Both games are linked to the same
Origin account, but I still haven't received the human soldier skin. Is
there a reason for this? I actually played a few matches of Battlefield 3
today, and then a few matches of ME3 Multiplayer today as well just to
be sure. Still no skin.

was checking for a follow-up email with the 15% discount code you
mentioned in the previous update, but haven't received it yet. Did I
overlook it?

03/23/12 at 02:52 AM
You:
Hello. Can you tell me which code you are referring to? If it's the
coupon code for 15% off, that's fine. If it's the code for the
Battlefield 3 skin I still would like an explanation as to why I can't
get the skin when I own and play both of the required games? I'm not
looking for just the answer of I can or cannot get the skin. If I'm
unable to get it I need to know WHY, because as I said I own and play
the required games to receive the skin.

Advisor: Hello Greg,

Thank you for writing back to us at Electronic Arts.

It was regarding the Origin store 15% discount code and not for the Battlefield 3 skin.

***************************

So,
that's my experience so far. Posted on the Battlefield 3 forums, and the general consensus I got there is that if EA Support sent
me to post on the forums they don't really care about resolving my
issue. I'm still trying to communicate with them, but so far haven't made any headway. Just looking for a reason I'm not getting the skin. Actually, I'm to the point now that I could almost care less about the skin, and just want some sort of compensation for this horrible exchange. I don't think that it should take 3+ weeks to get some real help.

Hopefully posting here makes me some progress.

I believe it's only available if you have BF3 and ME3 on the same platform i.e. BF3 360 and ME3 360.

To get the Battlefield soldier for PC or Xbox 360 (currently not available on PS3), you must have redeemed your Battlefield 3 online pass for the same platform you are playing Mass Effect 3.

Post back if you have any further questions.

Thanks AgentX. Is there a reason I wasn't told this by EA Support? They kept giving me the run around for weeks only to be brought here to be given a thankfully timely response. That would have saved me from wasting weeks of my time to get a straight (though disappointing) answer. On a side note, is there a reason that the skin is specific to one platform? Just wondering because I was granted early access to ME3 multiplayer on Xbox 360, though I own Battlefield 3 on the PC, so I wouldn't think that it would be a technical issue. Thanks again!

I am having the same issue. They keep telling me the promotion does not exist. I don't see how they can not add it to both accounts.
