#20421409 Where will you go to discuss Mass Effect?

I put up a small one w/ ME, Dragon Age and other games. http://www.jamiecotc...forum/index.php

#20402545 Hotter romance options!

OP should go w/ the Jacob romance, have Shepard express her true feelings about the mission then dump him before going through the Omega 4 Relay. He is not happy ... just like a normal person.

#20391523 Cynics only thread: what MEA will truly be...

MP connected to SP.

#20388602 I worry that Andromeda will take the wrong lesson from the ending controversy

Meaning that he didn't get into a big bombastic argument with the Catalyst? Yeah, as a matter of RP we should have had that even if it went nowhere.

Not so much an argument, but a struggle. I know that's what the final choice was suppose to be, but it fell flat for several reasons. There is nothing personal about it like there was w/ Mordin's death or Tali's death, both of which were great examples of your choices in action. So the end is missing either a fight or some kind of very personal struggle instead of a very abstract and symbolic choice that was ultimately meaningless.

#20387017 I worry that Andromeda will take the wrong lesson from the ending controversy

BW has always had a problem with overcorrecting. Don't like elevators? Cut them out. Don't like the Mako? Cut out exploration. Inventory is a mess? Cut it out. Combat is sluggish? Turn it into a shooter. Game (DA2) was rushed? Cancel the expansion. ME3's ending was almost universally panned? DAI gives us an uninspired villain and a bland boss fight at the end.

My big problem w/ the endings was that Shepard gave up.

#20385492 Of all the confirmed info, what are you most excited for?

I honestly don't know enough about all the new info to form an opinion either way. Honestly, the thing I'm excited about the most is that ME:A will have a character creator for either gender and a certain number of classes to play in a SP campaign, something that is becoming rare in gaming.

#20384639 The cameo we all need: Control Shepard

Since it was speculation for everyone, all my Shepards from every ending lived. So there.

#20381682 FemRyder will be the default?

If I had to guess both genders will be represented in trailers, etc.

Vanguard on my canon Ryder, but will eventually try them all.

#20367506 Odd way to do marketing.. anyone agree?

N7 day is in 4 months. That's not that long, tbh and multiple devs have stated the big marketing push will begin in the fall. And that's a good 4 to 6 months before the game comes out, assuming there isn't a delay.

#20365478 Odd way to do marketing.. anyone agree?

Fallout 4 wasn't even announced until five months before the game came out. Also, remember the DA:I reveal at E3 and all thing cool things that were shown and didn't make it into the game? And we need not talk about all the things that were cut from the ME3 script. Actually, let's talk about that one. Shepard was supposed to become indoctrinated in ME3 and nothing vague. S/he was supposed to leave control of the player, but they couldn't figure out how to do that and still have dialogue, so it was cut. I'd love to know more, but I don't want to see something exciting and then not get to play it.

#20342742 Pc Port

I remapped some keys on all ME games, but for the most part I thought there were fine. DA:O too. DA2 was "ok" but not great. DA:I sucked.

#20342253 Final Boss

I played the Reaper mob scene on insanity once and I think that gave a taste of what they were trying to go for, a relentless overwhelming flood of Reaper troops. The clone fight was the best boss fight of the trilogy. Not only was it a good battle, it offered biotics and tech classes to have a moment, plus there were some good personal jabs between Shepard and the clone. Sure the clone thing was corny and had been done to death, but it worked. If N7 guy is Ryder's brother and the antagonist, yes that's been done to death, but it's also simple and simple can leave room for creativity.

#20341960 Would YOU Let Shepard Know About The Arks?

Let's pretend that ME:A has no connection to how well ME3 was (or was not) received and for the sake of argument ME:A would have been the follow up to the trilogy regardless. Most likely the Council and Alliance would not have wanted Shepard to know for a multitude of reasons, but she would have found out anyway.  And according to the N7 Day trailer, apparently she did. ;)

#20340287 Side Quest Design in ME:A

I think ME3 actually handled side quests well. All of the ones where you met former squadmates were pretty fun. Grissom Academy, the rachni one, the Ardat-Yakshi monastery. I'd like to see more of those kind of missions.

Those were great. Just about every other side or mini quest was weak in ME3. Some were good for some easter eggs I guess, but that's about it. What I would love to see is something like a combination of ME and ME2 N7 quests. ME2 had some interesting ones that really brought a variety of scenery and style creating their own little voiceless stories. ME on the other hand had some good side quests that were marred by the cookie cutter structures and aimless meandering. Throw in one or two missions similar to ME3's N7 missions (horde mode in SP) and that might work.

#20338663 What about Liara's gift at the end of ME3?

BW overrides continuity all the time so its possible, but not likely.

#20332428 Who is YOUR Ryder?

Canon will be female vanguard. Other than that, I dunno.

#20332166 Bioware, please don't let The Witcher 3 influence Mass Effect Andromeda.

Although from what I hear imitating TW3's side quests wouldn't hurt the ME franchise at all.

#20327546 Reference to Shepard's gender in ME:A

Depends if they do something like the Dragon Age Keep for Mass Effect and include at least parts of the Shepard Trilogy in it.

If they do, then it is easy: just choose the sex you want Shepard will be and the few references will change according.

If they don't, also easy: Just never reference the sex or use gender-neutral pronouns like 'they'.

I'd be all for that, but BW wants a clean slate. There wil be no saves and a Genesis comic is highly unlikely, so the most there will be is a mention of Shepard. The ending of ME3 is all just "speculation" anyway, so maybe ReaperShep (Control Ending) beat Ryder to Andromeda and is living the high life somewhere. ;P

#20327384 Reference to Shepard's gender in ME:A

No. Not gonna happen.

Yeah w/out a save it won't happen and they won't release a Genesis for what amounts to easter eggs. I would be for it, but no, won't happen unless they pull a KOTOR2.

The Vanguard charge.

#20322632 Bioware reverses your choices except the one that matters least...

Well, yeah ... Frankly I'm glad they are not canonizing any of the endings for ME3. Since it was "speculation for everyone" I can give my Shepard pretty much whatever ending I want. :)

#20319726 "Seamless" multiplayer in ME:A?

Didn't they mention some kind of strike missions you could either play yourself or send NPCs to handle? Maybe those will have the option to be played as a MP match... during your SP campaign.

There is some leaked info that mentions going on strike missions either in SP or MP. I wouldn't put much stock in it yet though. It could very easily go the way of Shepard's indoctrination in ME3 or letting the village in Crestwood burn to the ground in DA:I and get cut out.

#20316068 Kotaku Article shows Mac Walters JUST DOESN'T GET IT!

Maybe it's not ready yet? Does anyone remember the years of wait for Fallout 4? Then it was only officially announced 5 months before release. M:A probably still has a good 9 to 11 months of development (if they don't push it up again) and we've known about it for months.
