Naming her Shepard would be unfortunate. Congrats though.
My wife and have a cat we named garrus.
I don't know, I'm so used to hearing my FemShep addressed as "Shepard" that it might as well be her first name, and it doesn't seem to detract from her femininity.
Congratulations to the OP!

I wish I could remember. Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and A Wrinkle in Time are the two that stand out in my memory. Can't say for sure either was the very first. Madeleine L'Engle's books stand out since my mom bought me the Time Quartet for Christmas when I was fairly young. It was disappointing until I started reading and found myself utterly sucked into those worlds.
Yeah I had a fifth-grade teacher who read A Wrinkle in Time to us (the best part was, she was super enthusiastic about voicing the different characters). I didn't think the others were as good but I'll still go back and read that one every few years. It was rejected by about 50 publishers, IIRC, before it was published. Good thing she was persistent.
Also someone gave me copies of Bridge to Terabithia and The Great Gilly Hopkins, which are good for traumatizing any kids you know.

I made myself read the Hobbit at one point but it did nothing for me. After coming across Orson Scott Card's MICE list for classifying stories (Milieu, Idea, Character, Event) I realized it's because milieu stories tend to bore me.

Shadow Strike FTW. I enjoyed her idle chat as well, especially her comments on your romance (though its kind of weird how she knows when and where Shepard and LI have sex).
She didn't spend the money on that tactical cloak just for combat.
Though if you romance Jacob that has to be tough for her to watch.

Miranda definitely. If not her, Jack.
I'd like both of them. Would be interesting to see how their relationship would change now that Jack isn't quite so angry and Miranda is no longer a Cerberus cheerleader. Not that I'd expect it to ever be cordial...

This. I like EDI's dialogue but she didn't need to be on my squad for that. And considering that you're forced to bring her to TIM's station, I don't feel like it develops her character much if at all. Miranda could have had all kinds of things to say about it especially since she's been there before.

Actually Shepard was supposed to cry during the game.
FemShep was supposed to "cry" during Thane's death scene, but we all know how that turned out.
Here's a bit from the leaked script.Thane:The moment will be soon. [Coughing fit.] I shouldn't have run. You did not even need me.
Shepard: You fought for something noble, Thane. As last moments go, it's not a bad one.
Thane:No... there is one I would prefer.[Thane memory flashback.] Fist slams the table. Shame at my cowardice, my fear. Atonement means nothing. Her hand touches mine. Her lips part and I tremble. "Thane, be alive with me tonight."
[His body relaxes. Shepard wipes her eyes. Maybe we see a tear, maybe we don't. The music tells us all we need to know.]
Shepard: Goodbye, Thane. Meet you across the sea.
Another thing I wish had made it in. Though Hale did a great job of making it sound like FemShep was just barely holding it together (either about to cry or just have a total f---ing breakdown), more than once.

Yes, and this is what I mean by Kai Leng wouldn't be my first choice for anything that requires a delicate touch with a minimal footprint.
**It can be argued that Kai Leng running into Aria's daughter was just bad luck but if he'd attempted a strategy that didn't involve breaking into Grayson's apartment and killing everything in his way he would have never made that mistake. He's a psychopath who enjoys killing and if he keeps leaving a bodycount, he will eventually accidentally kill someone TIM would probably he rather not kill.**
I can't resist.
It can also be argued that Kai Leng running into that box of Captain Crunch was just bad luck, but if he'd attempted a strategy that didn't involve breaking into Anderson's apartment and eating every bowl of cereal in his way, he never would have made that mistake. He's a high fructose corn syrup addict, and if he keeps leaving empty cereal boxes everywhere, eventually he will mistakenly eat something TIM would probably he rather not eat, like TIM's last box of Flintstones Fruity Pebbles.
Sorry, but Dietz destroyed my ability to take him seriously as a villain. And that e-mail he sends you in ME3 just makes it worse. I've been trolled worse than that by junior high schoolers. TIM is a villain. Leng is like a bug who annoys you b/c he just won't sit still long enough for Shepard to step on him.

Warning: baseless speculation.
I think Miranda Solheim was originally a very different character from Miranda Lawson. The concept art is more sinister and more sexual than what we see in-game. She looks like a villain, frankly. I think we were originally going to get a character who was much more the classic femme fatale, who Shepard couldn't really trust until s/he was won over. A combination of factors, including the assignment of Weekes and Strahovski'd hiring, led to us having the character we all know and love.
That's one thing I like about AssaultSloth's portrayal of her - she still has a vulnerable human side but she's also ruthless to the point of being evil (for instance it's strongly implied that she and TIM planned to kill everyone on Lazarus station from the beginning, for security reasons, and Wilson was just the fall guy). Very different from my (or, I think, many people's) impression of her and creates more potential for internal and external conflict.

I admit, my favorite part of ME3 is when the Allied fleets head to Earth. The movie is badass enough on it's own, but I combine The Alan Parsons Project's "Sirius" and "Lucifer" with it and it's even more awesome. Start it when the Normandy goes through the relay and the two songs last up until Shepard & co. land on Earth.
I'd have bet money I was the only one here who'd ever even heard of Alan Parsons.
For some reason, I keep thinking I saw Yvonne do some kind of promotion/photoshoot for ME2 where she dyed her hair black to look like Miranda. I can never find it, though, so it must just be wishful thinking.
Carrie-Anne Moss, OTOH, did an interview about ME2 where she said something like "sometimes you get a great role like Trinity, but you can't always get roles like that." Ouch.

I wonder if anyone else has made a backstory like this: Cyrus Shepard met Miranda before, in 2176, and had a fling with her when they were both disguised and under cover. When they met again in ME2, they didn't recognize each other until the engine room scene. No in-between relationship for him because he couldn't forget the mysterious woman who was found to not exist according to the Alliance's records.
I seem to remember requesting this story somewhere before and somebody was going to write it for me. I can't quite remember who it was though... *cough*Ieldra-you-owe-me-a-fanfic*cough*
This plot bunny really won't leave me alone though. I've always liked origin stories and the idea of Miranda and Shepard having met before ME2 (even if they weren't aware of it) is too delicious for me to let it go.
Exactly how Shepard and Miranda recognize each other during that scene could be anything from humorous to heartwarming to heartbreaking, depending on what they learned about each other the first time and under what circumstances they parted.

I know this puts me in the minority, but I do LotSB before the SM, but late in the game, leaving the "date" for after. That way, LotSB plays like Shepard's LM, making sure her head is clear and she can focus on the mission at hand. It also gives her one hell of a reason to make sure she makes it back.
I only picked up ME2 after LotSB had been released, so I'm sure its immediate availability colored my perception of how things should play out.
Shepard's LM is a good way of thinking of it - I never liked that everyone else gets one and Shepard just gets TIM telling her to Deal With It .

Thankfully this is much easier to do than in ME2 (where you have to change genders repeatedly before talking to Miranda, which causes your FemShep to look like a polygon trainwreck).
Hah!
...but does FemShep have spoken lines for romance dialog? I don't remember seeing any while looking through the files...
Sadly no, only in LotSB does she say anything about it.
