#17976049 What's Your Nationality?

Posté par Baronesa sur 05 décembre 2014 - 02:08 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Nationality: Rivain

Race: human

Class: mage, probably one of the Seers.

I would probably be from Rivain since it is based on Spain, and quite fits me being latina. Unlike Antiva though, I really like that they have not accepted the Chantry and still adhere tot heir millenia old traditions, something  that I would love to explore in game.

#17975661 Why do a lot of people hate Sera?

Posté par Baronesa sur 05 décembre 2014 - 01:12 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Wait, so sticking to what she believes, no matter what, makes her a belligerent moron?

*whistle*

Yes.... exactly. When presented with new evidence that should at least make you pause and consier other posibilities, and you flat out reject it.

Want examples in real life? There are still geocentrist out there.... hell if you push it there are still people who firmly believe that the Earth is flat, despite all the evidence to the contrary.

The game presents many things that challenge her narrow understanding of the world, and she prefers to cover her ears and go "lalalalla" and call everyone who goes introspect, who ponders the new information as a stupid.

Yes, sticking to what you believe in light of evidence to the contrary makes you willfully ignorant. And that is the kind of people i can't stand in real life.

A pity, before the game came out I thought I would romance her. She is too much of a bigot for me to endure her a second playthrough.

Does this mean is she badly written? Not at all. Quite the contrary. She clearly represents the opinion of the ignorant peasants that rather cling to their fears than learn about new things. She does that wonderfully. She was given a chance however, to join a big organization and be exposed to different ideas and understandings, and she rejects it all.

#17964970 "Smooth Kreminals" - Krem appreciation thread!

Posté par Baronesa sur 04 décembre 2014 - 01:32 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

I tend to agree with Xil.

Love Krem to bits, but the way trans men and trans women are treated is VERY different. Of course both face transphobia and cissexism, without a doubt, but on different degrees. In fact when you encounter anti trans rhetoric it is usually almost exclusively aimed against trans women, such is the case when you encounter TERF (Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists).

So thinking it is safer to include a trans man over a trans woman, is a painful reminder that in general there is more acceptance for one over the other. With that out of the way though... Krem and the treatment he got was just pitch perfect, specially when you as the character select the really ignorant dialogue options and you get really great responses (yes i scum saved and explored all the conversations)

It would have been interesting to add a conversation option during the talk with the chargers or Krem to say "I know exactly what you are talking about" or "So am I"

#17964225 Who else caught that the Blight apparently predates the First Blight?

Posté par Baronesa sur 04 décembre 2014 - 11:20 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Seems the source of red lyrium was the Primeval Thaig, so what if the Magisters were transported there prior to the first blight? It is another of many possibilities. Of course the taint may have existed since forever, but prior to that event, the infections may have been so limited that they didn't mattered much.

Then again, we are talking about really ancient times and precisely because of that, information in normal circumstances is lost as time pass. Add to that the wars and the prior 4 blights and the amount of information lost is staggering.

If we add to this what was said by Flemeth on the Fade, that she is trying to correct something that should have never happened, which I took as referring to the blights...

Posté par Baronesa sur 04 décembre 2014 - 12:35 dans Feedback & Suggestions

I agree with this... by the time i finished DAO I had a full bar.... and it was not hard to use, at all. I really wish I could use the abilities i got. At lvl 24  when i finished the game I was not using a lot of abilities

#17960007 A scout Harding romance option would be great.

Posté par Baronesa sur 04 décembre 2014 - 12:27 dans Feedback & Suggestions

I would love to have Harding as a romance option. I loved Jossie and I really don't like Sera... still will try to see if i can stand her on my second play with my Qunari...

Harding is just so adorable.

#17947583 Completionists...what level were you by the end of the game?

Posté par Baronesa sur 02 décembre 2014 - 09:56 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Have done all the quests and zones, but still managed to miss some mosaics and 1 song and 1 bottle!!! Anyway... finished the game at lvl 24. The last dragon on Emprise du Lion gave me the XP to move past 23.

#17803724 Can't connect to Dragon Age servers(PC)

Posté par Baronesa sur 19 novembre 2014 - 11:24 dans Feedback & Suggestions

Having the same problem

I managed to connect ONCE, yesterday. Enough to create 1 character and import my Dragon Age Keep world state. But I have not been able to connect again. Have followed ALL the guides they have posted. None of them works.

Hell, I have been unable to connect to the ME3 servers since February of this year, after having it since launch and playing the MP frequently.

Bariudol is right, the problem is on their side and I don't see much advance on solving the issue.

Finished the game last night. God I loved it so much.

And um... was I the only one here getting the vibe that Lara and Sam where more then friends? I don't think CD necessarily aimed for that portrayal but they tried way to hard to show off how close Lara and Sam are as "friends" if that was the case.

I loved the game and I also got the vibe that Sam and Lara were far more closer than just friends.

This game is a really must own.

It does have problems, of course one of my major criticism is about pacing... too much focus on the combat BEFORE it feels right (I think it should have been just sneak around a few guards till the "Rescue Sam" section, and after that once Lara is far more decided send big waves of enemies)

The ability to buy crafting materials

Actually... all of these are of my liking.

I really liked NWN2 crafting system, but not only stats are important, you also feel the need to make your armor or weapon to look in certain way. It is one of the best things to me, at least, to be able to personalize how my character looks.

Unfortunately the Catalyst is petulant and bad writing has Shepard just stand there like a lemon. Like you I take what I can get though.

Look, you don't have to like the Catalysts. But just imagine getting to that last area and him just being inexplicably absent (Since the endings we see are what we get). I'd rather have him even if his exposition dump is pointless in retrospect.

I would pay for that.

I would pay for that too... that would be the BEST ending DLC...

Removal of Casper the Genocidal Ghost!

Yeah... I would pay for that and would also get the other  DLC... that is how much more improved the game would be
