#16815265 A suitable weapon for Krogan Shaman

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 25 juin 2014 - 12:44 dans Multiplayer

Lame imo. If I want cryo explosions, I will go to Paladin or CrutchIU

Never said it was optimal. I said it was fun for me. I don;t really care if that makes it lame to anybody else.

#16814328 A suitable weapon for Krogan Shaman

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 24 juin 2014 - 09:45 dans Multiplayer

I like the Falcon with Cryo ammo on the Shaman most of the time. I love setting off the cryo explosions all over the place with shockwave. May not be optimal, but it's a kinda sadistically insane way to play that I find very fun. Especially when you toss the maniacal krogan laugh into the mix.  Plus, the falcon keeps my cooldowns low enough that I can use biotic explosions as well when I feel like.

#15706706 Warping a Banshee

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 23 octobre 2013 - 05:24 dans Combat, Strategy, and Gameplay

I'd just use your Sent and Liara together to pull off biotic explosions. Warp then Throw, then have Liara Warp, then Throw again. Explosions will take down banshees a lot faster than relying on single powers, with the added benefit that any other enemies caught in the field of the explosion will also take damage. An all biotic squad can murder Reapers if you concentrate on the explosions. If both Warp and Throw are maxed out, and the Detonate options are taken in leveling them up, explosions really would be the way to go. None of your powers singly can do as much damage quickly as the combinations can.

As to Warp and barriers, it's not all that effective against barriers. If you have Javik, Dark Channel works well, as does Reave against barriers. You can also use Throw to detonate them for explosions as well. Overload will do well against barriers, but it can interfere with Biotic explosions. Letting Liara use Warp Ammo is also a good idea, since that actually does well against barriers. Plus, Warp Ammo does increased damage to any enemy that already has been hit with any biotic power.

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 08 juillet 2013 - 02:07 dans General Discussion

I've been playing Multiplayer pretty much since launch, and for a good time I played it obsessively. So we're talking well over a year. I still don;t have a Harrier because the random store packs are just that. Random. I don;t want that anywhere near SP. Just my opinion.

#15201879 So does anyone play a Shockwave Krodept?

I like to take him out with a falcon equipped with cryo ammo, then shockwave everything to explode it. It just makes me feel good.

#15197671 Coaching a newbie - am I doing it right?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 03 juillet 2013 - 05:58 dans Multiplayer

I agree with the folks who say to open up the games. Opening up the games will make the matches go faster and thus the guy you're trying to help build his credits and manifest will get more get better gear quicker. And you don;t have to do it on Gold. Sure, Gold has more credits than Silver per match, but you can finish full Silver matches a lot faster than you can duo Gold matches most of the time. You may be able to make more credits per hour running Silver matches with a full squad than running Gold with just the 2 of you, especially since you'll both likely use a lot less consumables on Silver and therefore won't have to spend as much of what you earn on Equipment Packs. Especially if you focus on buying lower packs first.

I suggest buying recruit packs until you max out your common weapons at least. Then move up to Veteran's packs to max out Uncommons. Then when you get to the Spectre and PSP packs and the like, you can be guaranteed that you will never get a Common or Uncommon weapon in them, which frees up a slot for something else. With a random store, anything you can do to remove things dropping in higher packs is a good thing in my book.

You can do this pretty quickly while you play Silver matches, and by the time your friend has learned enough in Silver that he's ready to move up to Gold without using the Box of Shame tactic, he should at least have several Uncommon weapons at pretty high rank and have unlocked several new classes. He'll probably even have at least a few Rare unlocks. Those do come in Vet packs sometimes.

Plus it's a lot easier on Silver to be able to stop and explain things as it were as you go than it is on Gold. Basic concepts like where enemies spawn on a given map and how to control or predict where enemies are going to come from during waves are some of the most important things you can teach someone. It might be easier going through that kind of thing on Silver where things are less hectic and you're not getting constantly flooded. You really can't teach much of anything if you're doing Box of Shame matches because spawn points don't matter, map navigation doesn't matter, and awareness of your surroundings doesn't matter.

Wait okay, I feel stupid. I've been playing since day like 10 (I'm a solo first multi last), and I rarely play multi so my manifest sucks. But I thought the reegar was a decent weapon, I still see people using it, I just obtained mine but I'm a power not gun user so it's irrelevant to me at the moment at level one. So what it's a complete piece of crap or something?

A lot of people think it's a crutch gun because it kills too fast and is easy to just pick up and use right off the bat. It doesn't make much sense to me, but that's why you see the reegar hate.

Don't worry I'm a teamplayer. Well 'domination' was a bit exaggerated, I just want to improve and a lot of your suggestions were really helpful so far. Everyone has to start as a noob except if your name's Shepard.

Like a lot of people have said, just playing will teach you a lot. Take a look at some of the guides people from here have posted on Youtube like Invaderone and Stardusk. There is a ton of stuff on youtube that will help you and will show you with gameplay so you can see the advice in action. Also, it helps to hook up with people to play with you. There are people around here that will run some games with you and not care what your skill level is.

#14949781 What N7 Level Must A Noob Have To Be Carried?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 15 mai 2013 - 11:17 dans Multiplayer

I'll play with any N7 level character regardless of what guns or equipment they might be using or what level we're playing on. When I play that is, which is rarely anymore.

Not saying I can carry consistently, I'm not an elite player. Sometimes I can, sometimes I can't. But as long as everyone is trying I really don't care beyond that. If we wipe, we wipe. It's just a game as far as I'm concerned.

#14870022 Favorite memories from ME3 Multiplayer

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 30 avril 2013 - 12:05 dans Multiplayer

I remember my first attempt at Silver. I took my human soldier into a match on Dagger, and it was rough. It seemed like the whole team was new to Silver too, because it was just a complete mess as far as people dying went. By wave 4 or 5 I was sticking close to this Turian because we seemed to be able to keep alive better. No mic, so it was just one of those things that happened. The other 2 guys kept running off and dying, and I still remember on Wave 9 only me and the Turian had managed to not get sync killed.

So we basically started falling back from one spot to the next around the map. It was rough, but it just felt epic to be in one of those matches where you give ground while fighting like hell. It was one of those last ditch, no quarter standoffs, and it was fantastic. In the end we wiped, but even now, about a year after that, I still remember that match because of how awesome it felt to go down fighting back to back like that. I'll never forget my last stand with my nameless Turian squadmate.

I've had other memorable experiences, but that was the first major experience I had and it always stuck with me.

More generally, I've had a lot of fun with matches where everyone were krogan and we would headbutt everything that moves.

I still get a kick out of going back down to bronze sometimes if it's a whole squad of new players and just laying back and watching them have at it. I tend to lay back on the throttle in those matches, just watching and picking up the new guys. But their enthusiasm just makes the game new for me sometimes.

Like in one match on Glacier, on a priority target mission, it seemed to be taking a long time. So I headed downstairs to see what was going on and lo and behold, the target was a Guardian. And every member of my squad was faced off with a seperate guardian, and all of them were trying to melee/head butt their way through the shields. I was laughing so hard i almost forgot to kill the Guardian before the timer ran out. But that kinda thing just makes me remember when the game was fresh and new for me.

Mostly though, I've enjoyed playing with the people I've met on here and added to my friends list. I've met some cool people, and we've had a lot of fun playing this game.

#14835647 Mirror Match Help please

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 23 avril 2013 - 10:56 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

I had problems because the Vanguards would just destroy me when they found me and everything else just constantly staggered me. I solved it by taking a Scorpion pistol into the match and staggering them for a change. It still involved a lot of running and using cover, but the Scorpion really dropped the difficulty down a notch for me.

I don't get how the Kroguard is overrated, he pretty much deserves his "super easy solos" title.

I think it's mostly because if you read some of the stuff around here, people would go into a match thinking they could just leave their kroguard alone while they read the paper and all the enemies would just die in awe of his mere presence.

Plus, a lot of people probably read that stuff, then take a kroguard on U/U matches. And while he's still very powerful, against other factions besides geth, it's really easy for him to get sync killed a lot if you don't have some level of skill.

Even as good as the class is, no class can live up to the hype some people talk him up to.

#14810198 If you could add a new banner, what would its requirements be?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 12:51 dans Multiplayer

Banners I'd like to see:

Banshee Magnet
Phantom Fillet
Brute Rag Doll
Scion Soap Dropper
Atlas Stress Ball
Praetorian Chiropractic Adjusted

I'd also like to see a Suicidally Inclined banner for Swarmer deaths.

And a My Biceps Are Too Sexy banner for killing Banshees with the Juggernaught.

All pretty self explanatory.

#14810119 Now I'm curious, how many of you would want Shepard back in a ME4?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 12:19 dans General Discussion

I'll miss Shepard, but I'm kinda glad Shepards tale is done. It's kinda like novels, when a writer keeps writing about the same character repeatedly, it just gets stale and boring after awhile. That's why I quit reading Salvatore's Drizzt books among others. You just run out of things for them to do, characters start losing focus, and it just gets old. Whether I wind up getting the next Mass Effect game or not, I'm happy Shepard won't be driven into the ground like that.

#14810100 Why were you able to do countless playthroughs with ME2 but not ME3?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 12:13 dans General Discussion

A big part of the reason is that I kept playing ME2 while still anticipating the next game. I played a few times, put it away, then as ME3 got closer to being released I started playing again. The series was still ongoing.

After ME3, well, there isn't another game in Shepards story to anticipate. I know how everything ends, I know the story is done, and therefore I don't have that feeling of anticipation to drive me to replay it as much.

I wasn't a fan of the ending either, so that didn't help. But mostly it's just the difference between having another game coming with 2 and not having one on the horizon after 3.

#14810063 Kelly Chambers in ME3

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 11:59 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Never seemed like much of a romance to me either, but some people refer to it as one. I think someone from BW mentioned that stuff in my post when people were freaking out about being "unfaithful" when ME3 came out.

As for fish, I decided long before I had dinner with Kelly that after all the death I'd caused, I was not cut out to own fish anyway.

#14810051 For those of us who got the breathe scene, how do you think it ends?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 11:55 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

I like to think my Shepard starts to get up, dusts himself off and stands, arms thrown wide and screaming out his victory to the stars. Then a dead Reaper falls on top of him from behind. Strikes me funny for some reason, but my sense of humor is like that sometimes.

#14810034 Kelly Chambers in ME3

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 18 avril 2013 - 11:51 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Wiki sites are not really reliable all the time since it's sometimes just what people think rather than fact. It's why you can't use them as sources in colleges and so on.

Dinner happens whether you are in a romance or just friends with Kelly. There is a line at some point where Kelly says something about falling. If you answer you'd do more than catch her, I think that puts you on the romance path. If you answer you'd catch her, it's just friends. At least I remember a developer saying that at some point I believe. After that conversation, she'll give you a line about being too forward to let you alter the path one more time.

The dinner happens either way if you keep talking to her. You'll only get the email to meet her in your quarters after the game if it was a romance. Although to be honest, it's not much of a romance to begin with since you can't unlock the Paramour achievement with it and it only happens if you didn't romance anyone else.

So all you have to do is have dinner with her. Well, that and have her make it to 3 alive.

#14792301 Mass Effect Newbie - best order of play?

Posté par bloodstalker1973 sur 15 avril 2013 - 01:49 dans General Discussion

N7 missions are not DLC related, just side missions. It's safest to put off doing all Priority missions you have until you complete all the side missions- N7 missions and the planet scanning stuff- that you have because, as some folks have said, Priority missions advance the plot and can lock you out of completing certain side missions. So I always save the Priority mission for last in each stage.

I did something similar.  I added the bugginess of Condor as why I didn't like it and the look of it (personal taste)

I also thought there should be small DoT to players on White Whiteout and Dagger Sandstorm if you stayed outside too long (almost like the Mako and SP in ME1).  When the sandstorm picks up, if you are outside, your health should drop a little over time.  Just an idea.

Also, I was never really sure what the "hazard" was on Giant Night.  I mean, ok, a bit darker perhaps.  But a hazard, not really.   Anyone else know?

One of the BioWare guys said that it was originally as dark as the flashlight sections of the SP, but that ultimately it ended up not being very fun because you were often being killed by something you couldn't see.

The screen also shakes when the guns fire, which would be a slight hazard to snipers if there wasn't already so much screen shake from everything else in the game that we pretty much didn't even notice the guns firing anyway.
