#20424655 Any old timers remember Saphra Deden?

Man, you all are taking me back. I have two posts from almost six years of lurking yet I distinctly remember staying up late on this forum reading the ramblings of all these characters.

The fact that this place wil be nuked in a couple weeks is killing me. Wish there was a way to archive the best (and worst) of BSN before its all gone. Too much to sift through unfortunately. :(

We need an Agent 47 to sneak into Bioware's office(where ever they house their data servers and download the forum data.  B)

#20421564 Lt. Commander Ashley Williams thread: "Don't 'Ash' me!...

Sup fellow Ashaholics!

It's a real bummer that they are closing the BSN down but even more of a shame that all of this will disappear into the ether.  Anyone working to back up some of these threads to a private server?  I'm gonna try and do that with some of my posts at least.

It's a small sentiment, i know, but i have a lot of fond memories on these forums that i don't want to loose.

P.S. If anyone wants to stay in touch, you can find me as Jedted on Origin, Steam, XBL and PSN.

#20421463 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par JedTed sur 01 août 2016 - 01:34 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

So in order to get closer to your audience you're going to shut down the direct line to your audience.

Sounds honestly like you're going to shut down the one place genuine criticism can be had and controlled by you.

This is not considering if there are those who do not partake in some of the communities on the other sites because of their potential toxicity being not controlled or hosted by Bioware.

Not to mention that places like facebook, twitter and youtube all have terrible capabilities in acting as a forum where people can actually talk to one another.

And their site rules can be easily swayed to limit any kind of critique.

What are we supposed to have 160 character maximum conversations with a developer or between each other?

How does that breed any kind of nuance or conversation?

How is that anything but disconnecting?!?!

And that's not even considering the three language differences you have on this site that are dedicated to them. What do they do now?

I wouldn't mind if you just said you can't be bothered to host the site any more as that would make sense, but by removing the best way to talk to a community of like minded individuals along with customer service, tech support and creative works all being propped up by those very people makes absolutely zero sense.

And this'll probably be the last time a criticism can be heard like this as if I were to tweet this then not only would I be over character limit but I would also be drowned by the thousands of other users before twitter auto-deletes the tweet.

This all feels like Bioware is trying to be trendy and niche again, pretending to be a "cool department" and sacrificing usability for trendy points...

I see that this thread has gone way of the rails but i just wanted quote this post from page 1 to show how much i agree with it.

Yeah, there are other ways to communicate with Bioware and other Mass Effect/Dragon Age fans, but not everyone at Bioware is multi-lingual so how do those fans get their voices heard?

I haven't set foot in this form much since the ME3 talk died down but i was hoping to spend more time here after Andromeda is out.  I can understand if Bioware is tired of monitoring these forums but why do they have deleted from the world wide web completely?  I'm sure a dedicated group of fans and modders will work to preserve all meaningful information but what about all the fun discussions that have happened here?

I know i'll miss all the debates about the morals and ramifications on Synthesis.

RIP Official Bioware Forums.

I don't how many people have installed this mod but i assume most Ashley fans prefer her ME1 look over ME3.

I'm trying to figure out how to just install her head mod and keep her default outfit.

#20314134 Quantum Entanglement Communication to the Milky Way in ME:A

b.) "golly gosh darnit; this here communicator ain't working or nobody on Earth is answering".

Thoughts?

Maybe Shepard chose the Red ending and it wiped out all QE Communicators in the Galaxy.

If the Arkcon mission set off pre-Reaper invasion, perhaps they didn't take a QEC with them specifically so the Reapers wouldn't follow them.

#20201049 Modifying the Decryption mini game?[PC]

One of biggest gripes about it is on the harder crates they seem to give you barely enough time to solve them.  Also it's annoying that you only get one shot at if before you have to use omni-gel.

Of course i'm on PC so i can give myself more omni-gel than i'll ever need but i'd like to roleplay my Engineer Shep as a genius hacker.  Anyone know how to edit the mini-game so it doesn't lock you out after the first try?

#20201029 Faster Elevators!

This is an awesome mod!  Currently i've been using the /slomo cheat to bypass all the elevators(which lead to a few glitches with the dialog), this looks a lot better.

Thanks for posting!

#19306995 Having class and party composition affect quests.

I rather have it like in Omega DLC , an engineer could do something during the quest . But no other class could wich for me was such a wasted potentiel . For exemple when you go to rescue Jack and her student...you start hitting a window or watever with your rifle . I always though if you played a Biotic or a Vanguard you could charge trough it or blow it instead of Jack .

I hope they add something like this , would be nice . It make the class you choose more meangful then just shoot and spam powers .

More of this in Mass Effect!  My favorite part of Omega DLC was how my Engineer Shep could look like a bad ass by using his brains.

#19301943 I hope there's no ammo

The explanation was that the geth weapons were so advanced because they could cool faster using universal ammo clips, so from that point on, all guns/weapons/etc produced by the Citadel races all used thermo clips, which Shepard apparently knew about two weeks after ME, considering they know what they are in ME2.

Maybe Cerberus implanted that knowledge in Shepard's brain.  Or there was a note on the locker where you grabbed the gun.

Even in ME2, I think I ran out of ammo once, on Insanity. And let me just say, that punching 50 husks to death was bloody irritating.

Again, if you ran out of ammo, you were playing it wrong.  I used to be rubbish at conserving ammo, one of the reasons i didn't play many horror games.  But after ME2 i learned to be more careful with my shots and use mine, and my squad's powers to my advantage.

All of the big fights in ME2(Horizon, Derelict Reaper, etc.) are littered with clips so i don't know how you could possible run out.  Some enemies will even drop thermal clips.

Does the thermal clip fairy service Andromeda too?

See my previous post.  Omni-gel is the answer!

#19301732 I hope there's no ammo

I mean story wise I think it more likely to have cool down based weapons because I doubt the switch to the thermal clip expand to this to whole new universe that we are supposed exploring (based on what we know from the leaked survey if it is to be believed) I mean unless we brought a whole ship filled and found some way to mass produce them it seem counter productive for the first weapons to be use are have ammo restraints so we can eventually run out of ammo unless if it is brought back later in the game as we are using new weapons and steal the ammo of the natives of Andromeda and they all have one universal ammunition choice

You forget about omni-gel, it's useful for more than just unlocking doors.  As long as you have enough of that you can manufacture all the thermal clips you need, and any scrap metal can be melted down to make more omni-gel.

If you don't like it, buy the PC version and give yourself unlimited thermal clips.

#18888872 Normandy SR-1 inspired by Red October?

While watching Hunt for Red October on Netflix i kept thinking how similar it is to the Normandy.  They're both extremely advanced prototypes(for their times) capable of stealth.

There are a few references to the movie in ME2 and 3 but has it ever been confirmed by Bioware as their source of inspiration?

#18653440 Trilogy on Next Gen

Seeing as i've payed for the original ME 3 times(Xbox, Steam and finally on Origin with the Trilogy Edition), i would buy it again in a heart beat if they did a true remaster of it.  Keep the gameplay the same but revamp some things like inventory management.  In ME2 and 3, modify the thermal clip system so that you have the option to let it cool or eject the clip(cooling takes longer if you have full heat as opposed to if you only fire in short bursts).

My dream change for ME1 is add non-combat outfits so Shepard can wear an Alliance uniform while on the Normandy.

#18619064 Modding the Decryption time limit?

I like the hacking mini-game in the PC version but the time constraint makes it somewhat frustrating for me.  If i'm an Engineer with a maxed out Decryption skill then you would think that would allow more time to hack a computer or locker.

#18617844 The Little Things You Just Discovered...

This is very interesting to me, as it is super duper heavily implied (but never directly stated) by the lore that in addition to the Cord-Hislop Aerospace company, TIM likely is a major shareholder in both Exo-Geni and Binary Helix.

I wish they would have elucidated TIM's capitalist nature more in the games. In the books it is made clear that Cerberus is far more infiltrative than the games make apparent before ME3 (and so it gives the appearance that it came out of nowhere). In reality, corporations reign supreme in the Alliance, and Cerberus has its tendrils in all of the most influential ones.

Didn't they state that one of those companies is a front for Cerberus in one of the novels?  Or is that a totally different company?

How sad Shepard looks after TIM executes Anderson at the end of ME3.  The silence adds a lot more weight to that scene.

Well. That is something I am going to have to do on my next run-through on Mass Effect 1. And here I thought I saw everything there was to see in ME1. Apparently I was wrong.

Thanks guys.

What you do is smuggle the package for Opold(the hanar) and then tell him your keeping it.  That's when Inamorda appears at the docks.

For the first time ever, I got the paragon interrupt when talking with the reaper on Rannoch. Most of the time I got the renegade interrupt or just chose investigate

Nice.  I always do the investigate line cause it makes Shepard sound smarter trying to understand the Reapers.

#18394400 How would you end Mass Effect 3?

The Crucible sends Shepard back in time and he activates the Citadel Relay and sends a giant nuke through to blow up all the Reapers.
