General Discussion (Spoilers)
The combat is difficult/annoying for a few reasons
-The companion AI is terrible and requires micromanagement in a lot of fights. Your ranged people will stand there in a dragon's face and not fall back to a safe distance, they can't seem to decide on a target and in one specific fight I had Cole, Cassandra, and IB running back and forth between two lesser enemies (who were on opposite ends of the battlefield) as a group attacking one and then attacking the other no matter how many times I switched to tactical mode and moved them/assigned them to attack the more powerful enemy in the middle, they would run off and start their dance between the weak ones (which kept appearing until the strong one was killed) right after. They also will often forget to use potions and require you to switch to them and do it manually.
-You can't set tactics like you could in previous games
-There's a LOT of combat
-You can't change your mapped abilities in the middle of combat and you can't use the radial menu to use other abilities anymore
-No healing magic and extremely limited potions
-When trying to target something on a higher elevation with certain types of spells, the spell wouldn't just pop up the cliff, you had to trail it around a hill or path like you were walking instead of aiming something.
-You also can't change weapons or equipment during combat...I hope your melee fighters don't need to attack something on an unreachable platform because that emergency bow will do you no good.
-It seems like there are fewer abilities and spells than previous games (the "upgrades" pad out the skill trees and make it seem like there are more but...)
It's worth playing for the story, characters, role playing, and beautiful environments but I absolutely hate the combat. My advice is to keep it on the casual setting, bring a lot of warriors and one mage, and try to keep yourself overleveled. That way you wont have to take much notice of it most of the time.
I agree. One of the reasons why I play on casual is because I don't like to micromanage much, and with RPG games, specially for those with parties, the higher the difficulty level, the more you need to micromanage. With the tactics for previous DA games, you could pretty much program them and that eliminates the micromanagement for casual players. This is not the case for DAI, even on casual mode. But I still highly recommend it because of all the things Nefla mentioned.

The Viscount's Seneschal: I have no idea where you'd find a shady sword for hire-
Anders: The Hanged Man?
Varric: The Hanged Man.
Isabela: Definitely.
Isabela: Ah, The Hanged Man. Sometimes you just want to go where everyone knows your name. (I want to buy the Bioware writer a drink for that reference)
Merril: Isabela said the next time we were here she'd teach me how to do a body shot.
I also love how Varric calls Merril "Daisy" and Isabela calls her "Kitten".

A conversation with Sebastian at the Gallows Prison or Gallows Courtyard will lead to the conclusion you seek.
Can anyone tell me what he is supposed to say during this scene if you did everything right, including the spoilerific thing? Because he declared his love for Hawke and all that and she accepted, but all I got during the gallows scene was "In another life, you and me... Let's not dwell on that."
What the hell? Where'd that marriage proposition of yours go? :/ I think I might've messed up, or at least I hope I did because that would be very lazy writing and a weird retcon.

All 3 of the other romance options have been confirmed to be both male/female Hawke friendly. I can't imagine why Merril wouldn't be. But then again, I don't really care since they've already been more charitable than in the past.
I'm not complainging honestly.
All ive seen is speculation, no actual confirmation. The Screenshots are said to be shopped, theres no video yet - ((that i could find)) DA2 Wiki says they're all bi- then individual articals say nothing.
Its a giant pool of obtuse info to wade through.
Was only asking if anyone had done it themseleves
I'm just a few hours into my playthrough, but I have seen a video confirming M/M for Anders. I just don't know if it's okay to post the link here....
/OT Before the game came out I was kinda meh about Merrill, but after meeting her in the game... I just find her so freaking adorable. She's such a goober, and I know not everyone likes the dorky LI, but I happen to like dorkyness
I've seen the M/M Anders . I've seen isabella/mhawk/fhawk. I've seen Merrill/mhawk. I've not seen Fenris with anyone, nor can i find Merrill/Fhawk . Getting a bit '...weee SURE they're all bi?"
Still hoping.

Aren't the strategy guides also filled with spoilers? Maps and NPC names and the like?malu2573 wrote...
The official strategy guides are more helpful IMO
If so, then I never want to look at one. But if not, I'm ordering one today.
Exactly why documentation is so poor these days. Why give something for free when they can charge $20?
GameFAQs is free and has been growing in popularity over the years...strategy guides are a big waste of money.

To me that looks like "amends". Not sure what that word means but lets replace it with a word "compensate". It is basic principle of justice. Velanna was guilty and justice had to be done, and in Velanna's case it could be giving mercy to her in case she compensates and does not do it again.
Good point! And I wonder if the new Vengeance could ever remember a thing like mercy. However, I don't know if mercy and justice ever go hand in hand. There is the whole atonement thing that I guess could blur the lines between those two virtues, but justice by its definition has no room for it. Still, it's a thought to ponder. He did seem to have a more non-violent view on compensation.

Bearded dragons!
There's one in my room at this very moment... kinda small though. He's probably not worth much experience and I don't think you could make armor out of his scales. Might be able to make bracelets.

I don't really see why Sebastian having romance content is any more unfair than all the other content that comes with him that non-paying players can't see.
It's not. Someone asked if he was romanceable in his thread, and the dev response was "Pick the flirty dialogues and find out." And anyway, DLC is plenty fair. Everyone has the opportunity to get it as long as they pay.

*weighs in again on the Anders front, because, hey, I've got time and repeating myself is so much fun*
1. Being a Hawke companion doesn't mean you have to stop being a Grey Warden. I believe I even read somewhere that there is a Grey Warden quest.
It's not that he stops being a Grey Warden, but if I recall, Grey Wardens are not supposed to become involved in political conflicts, which Hawke's story seems to center around. Although, it would be fun watching Anders break those rules.
It's fairly easy to work around that... tons of explainations like the always usefull... you help me I help you situation. Hawke helps Anders kills darkspawn, Anders helps him do whatever it is Hawke needs help doing.
Our Warden ALWAYS seemed to be helping high powered political figures in DA:O... or fighting agianst them. The Arl, the dwarfs, Logian, the tower...
