#20426289 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par Reznore57 sur hier, 09:09 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

I'm thinking the community team has left this thread...

There's a very high chance it is the case , yes.

If you mean Conal?

If I remember correctly he didn't stay around much after closing the Off Topic , he just left a thread for people to vent.

I don't think he had much to say beyond his PR speech and a bit of "there, there".

Not that I blame him , dumping someone can be really awkward and he had to dump a whole community of people... :wizard:

Now I am on a project that I wont be able to talk about for a while so again, I have nothing to bring to the table.

tl;dr: I feel as though I have nothing to bring to the table

In a new certain forum you can just post pics of cute bunnies and you won't get banned.

Or talk about the books you've just read in the Off Topic section. :)

Hmm...I feel like at least one "handsome" has to be thrown in as well. I came across one of my screenshots while copying out my character files where he quite emphatically states he's more handsome than a cockroach.

Fine.

Now I just have to do it.

Edit :I did a Dorian Thread at the new forum. But  I'm more more than willing to change the main post.

So anyone has an idea , because seriously mine kind of sucked , something a bit more dignified , I'm all for it.

I need to catch up on things, I've missed this. There was a leak about ME3 development and people figured out it was Weekes who was the source?

From what I've gathered "allegedly" Mr Weekes was posting on a somewhat popular forum , he had an alias but it was known it was him.

After the ME3 ending , "allegedly" he posted his version of what happened with ME3 ending."allegedly" Casey Hudson and Mark or Matt Whateverhisnameis (lead writer guy) wrote the ME3 ending all by themselves and refused peer review.

"Allegedly" Mr Weekes said in a very diplomatic manner the ME3 ending was crappy.

When the story hit internet and the press jumped on it Bioware went on full Deny all the Thing mode.

Caesy and Mac fully believed a single page doodle with the words "Speculations for Everyone!" underlined 3 times was artistic brilliance.

It's hilarious. It's sad it's true but jesus....this is too funny.

Tides of Numenera from Inxile looks promising.

Well except the fact that the beta has a game breaking bug they still haven't fix ...

But otherwise the starting area you can test is pretty good.

They've got ice cream tho

Yeah but crunch time and ice cream aren't such a good idea.

Just sayin'.

You know stay healthy people and all that.

I will admit to a certain level of epicaricacy from reading that

I have no idea what epicaricacy means , but the "I love gossip and dirty laundry" part of me is having a field day right now.

I'll feel bad tomorrow.

#20424705 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par Reznore57 sur hier, 05:13 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

I think most people with knowledge of the industry these days realize that crunch time and uncertainty over jobs is an inevitability. We've seen enough features and horror stories from sites over the last few years.

Yet, this sounds like there's serious problems. Like, Thief 2014-level problems.

Mark my words: one day we're going to get a tell-all feature about how screwed up Bioware was in its final days.

Well what's concerning is there seems to be a bit of money issue.

And yes some problem with management .

Now I feel like I've been supporting a corporate tech sweat factory with my cross platform redundant purchases of their last six titles. ; (

Well honestly gaming companies at large are known well I won't say sweat shop but crunch time until you almost drop dead , project going nowhere and all that jazz are just "normal".

It only looks glamorous from far far away.

#20424657 Forum Replacement?

Posté par Reznore57 sur hier, 04:44 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I'm not going to go hang out at some little fan sites. I'm too old for this sh*t. I'll stick around my modding forums, Beamdog and Obsidian. Bethesda once in a while. Screw their sh*tty new Fallout forums. Hell its not even forum software they're using. First Bethesda screwed their fans over with the Fallout forums and not Bioware is killing theirs period.

Yeah the Bethesda forum are horrible.

I didn't go often on their forum , just to read a couple of things here and there...and that forum, so much confusion and awful layout.

I had to go to Reddit instead.

Either that, or they absolute hate us with a passion (lul, 'course they do). I still think the reason is they can't stand the criticism anymore or they are super biased against this community in particular.

I find it a bit weird that they're closing now and not after DA:I was done as it was suggested in previous comments. But maybe just recently they figured that they couldn't stand this place any longer and decided to apply the "final solution".

The issue might not be the forum right now , but what might happen when MEA release.

But honestly who knows?

We'll never hear what was said behind close doors. We may get some people to spill the beans in a couple of years.

Like the whole thinking of closing down the forum when DA2 was released.

Any consensus here on where Dorian fans might migrate to?

Nope.

For now I'd send people over to http://bsn.boards.net/

There's no Dorian thread yet , and I don't feel like the best person to start one.

I mean I 'd write "He was known as DHMG :Dramatic Hands Mustache Guy!

The hot moustache from the land of Tevinter , Mister Dorian Pavus.

Blablabla have fun people."

#20424281 The Official Fenris Discussion thread

Posté par Reznore57 sur hier, 01:00 dans Story, Campaign & Characters

I think it's in the Fenris Thread I started to post on the English forum.(I was hanging on the French one before).

Bye Fenris thread!!

As for another forum , for now the bulk of the users are moving to : http://bsn.boards.net/

So if people are interested (even if there's some lurkers in here?) don't hesitate to go.

Will you guys entertain one last question/hurrah before it all ends? :(

I'm starting (well, picking back up) a Dorian-mance, using a mage Lavellan. I can't decide on a personality. It's between "nice/gentle" and "aggressive/angry." (I think I'm not interested in the middle/snarky one b/c it's too much like Dorian). Which would you guys says works better with him?

Both the diplo , will get you Dorian going "awww an unicorn!" a couple of time.

And when you're direct with him , I think it might get him a bit hot in the pants sometimes.

#20423997 Concerning Our Forums

For Twitter-savvy people here, do you know if any BioWare people (devs and otherwise) are talking about this crapfest on the platform they ask that we use from now on? I followed Conal Pierse two days ago, but he hasn't said anything in a day. Can anyone point me towards where this is being brought up, if at all?

Well Aaryn Flynn added the Unofficial BSN forum twitter account to his friend list?

So perhaps a "Good Luck , people" gesture?

Or he wants to keep an eye on the community?

#20423965 Concerning Our Forums

I went to Dragon Age's Twitter, well here online anyway, I don't have one. I guess I am just old school. It was like a one-sided conversation with dozens of people talking at once.

These forums have to stay open, I still need Hrungr to interpret this, because I am completely lost without translation.

You're not the only one being puzzled by Twitter.

I have an account I've never used. It's like text messaging people you don't know about stuff they shouldn't care about.Weird.

#20422421 Why Corypheous and the Architect were drama queens?

I'm still not over the fact that Cory had Wicked Witch of the West -not sure how you'd call it-pantyhose?

It's like even Bioware had trouble taking the poor guy seriously.

#20422238 Unofficial bioware community - rescue team collaboration

Posté par Reznore57 sur 01 août 2016 - 07:39 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

@Fexelea

You probably already know  that, but NwN people are already packing their stuff up with some custom tool (heading to the Vault if I get it right), you should probably contact them (that's if you hadn't yet).

I'm carefully optimistic on this one, but their official assistance with this exodus would be very appreciated indeed.

I think Solas from the Solas Thread has contacted Conal (community manager) so they can help with archiving the forum.

He said he was going to look into it.

So perhaps someone should see what's going to happen (or not happen ) with that.

#20422080 New BSN Forums

Posté par Reznore57 sur 01 août 2016 - 06:03 dans General Discussion

For the most part, all of the substitutes offer different things. It is a tad bit frustrating given the thought that this might fracture the community across the board even more, however, it is very important to note that all members of BSN came to BSN for different reasons, therefore each of those forums may have something that is better fitting for them. So while one gigantic board would be ideal, it isn't going to happen (that was one thing that BSN had unique to it that likely won't be recaptured unfortunately).

Yep.

There's lots of small community in the BSN and not all have the same needs and wants.

There's the Mass Effect community and ME3 multiplayer.

People who mostly hang in Twitter Threads.

The more off topic community.

The DA one.

And in the DA one there's the Cullen and Solas followers .

Someone should have explained that to the Russian sciencentist who intentionally injected himself with a 3 million year old species of bacteria because reasons recently.

Really?

I've read a book " a short history of nearly everything" and there were tons of little stories about famous and not so famous scientists who were doing a lot of stupid stuff , and their quirks.

It was highly amusing.

It's good to hear the derp is still going strong in the scientific community.

#20421555 Do we actually know - is there actually going to be a dragon age 4?

Posté par Reznore57 sur 01 août 2016 - 02:02 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Sure, but there's indications it was highly successful to start with and no indication it performed terribly subsequently. That they persisted in making high production value DLC for the better part of a year certainly can be taken as indicative of continued profitability.

It probably was successful , but David Gaider also said DA2 was also successful despite the overall disapointment.

The issue is we don't know how successful DAI was supposed to be.What was the goal?

If Youtube playthrough are any indication , and I believe they can show a trend , well DAI isn't all that trendy compared to this other RPG I shall not name.
