#19780033 Should BioWare not reveal characters sexual orientation before release?

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 06 octobre 2015 - 04:32 dans General Discussion

How about not discuss or reveal their sexuality at all? Sexuality shouldn't define a character. You should only find out when you're playing maybe because of a subtle remark one of the characters makes or when attempting to romance them. Keep it real.

#19779930 Galaxy Map Request: Can We Please Go Back to the Original Planetary View?

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 06 octobre 2015 - 04:04 dans General Discussion

I think a combination of both would easily work with a toggable zoom option. Can't be hard to do and yes I did prefer the original planetary view.

#19676097 Bioware, please no overly sexualized characters!

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 10 septembre 2015 - 10:13 dans General Discussion

What material is Miranda's outfit made of though? Some sort of mesh padding? It could be comfortable then, you never know, maybe Bioware should have included an option for Shepard to ask her but they didn't so we'll never know.

Please give us more overly sexualized female characters please Bioware. And maybe throw in ONE but only ONE male character who is overly sexualized for the females and gays to keep them happy. Also he's completely optional to recruit because I don't want to see close ups of his bulge unless he's dressed like and looks like David Bowie from Labyrinth then that's fine and especially fine if we get to acquire his outfit or similar outfit to wear on our character.

#19676026 Difficulty in user-made modules

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 10 septembre 2015 - 10:00 dans Modules

Another heated debate in the NWN section and Tchos is at the centre of it again! I'm shocked! /sarcasm  smiley-rolleyes010.gif

Just to release this thread's tension a little... regarding the whole Warrior VS Mage debate:

The reality:

One Warrior vs Five Mages

:D

The whole problem with user made modules is that enemy encounters next to the scripting can be some of the hardest parts to create. Understanding the time it takes to create a truly balanced but challenging game is what made me appreciate a game like Dark Souls all the more. The developers really have to make sure to account for your class, level and the route you choose to take and ensure that no matter what the game remains not just challenging but balanced too.

The problem I see with many NWN modules nowadays is that they are either too hard or too easy.

#19675903 Changes to the BSN

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 10 septembre 2015 - 09:34 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

Out of all of the sub-forums they could have closed, they chose the Off-Topic. The elitist Neverwinter Nights 2 sub forums are still open! Hell the entire sub-forums for all of Bioware's legacy games are still open. Strange excuse "we only want Bioware products discussed here" but I guess it's their forums so they can do what they want.

It's been fun though and I can only applaud the mods for not being banhammer crazy when it came to resolving disputes, yes they handed out bans but nothing ridiculous like other forums where they'll ban you for several months or a year for one single post. I like to think they understood our crazy sense of humour.

I love this thread simply because of that brilliant typo, castles dwarf.

As for the idea, I suppose it could work. A suicidal squadie who hides his/her intentions behind a false façade.

#19667504 Bioware! Please don't make us start the game with Predator/Avenger le...

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 09 septembre 2015 - 01:47 dans General Discussion

Compared to most other RPG's our Mass Effect protagonists have it pretty good. They have their own crew, ship, armor and weapons from the start. In other games you'll start by wearing rags and if you're lucky you might pick up a rusty dagger along the way. So for our Mass Effect protagonists it could be worst.  :D

#19667474 Make Mass Effect: Andromeda more feminine!

Wait, a female renegade should be even more harsh than a male renegade? Why? inb4 "females are more harsher than males" lol.

#19667463 Romanceable Mako for ME:A -why not

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 09 septembre 2015 - 01:39 dans General Discussion

Well they had that romanceable Tali picture in Mass Effect 3 so I guess they can one step further with a car, so long as it includes its exhaust pipe know what I'm saying?

#19655961 Exploring with Mako, it was tedious and boring in ME1

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 07 septembre 2015 - 12:07 dans General Discussion

Since the Baldur's Gate series, Bioware have only tried the open world exploration twice again, the first being Mass Effect and the second being Inquisition. I don't think Origins or Jade Empire were open enough to qualify. Either way those titles didn't capture the essence of the Baldur's Gate series in what they achieved with its open regions which had story and quality content in them that made them rewarding to explore.

Inquisition's open environments looked unique and effort clearly had gone into creating them but unfortunately the aesthetics were just a veil over what was really just a barren wasteland like with the worlds of Mass Effect.

Give us reason to explore these open regions. Fetch quests and resource collecting is not just repetitive but boring too. Occasionally in Mass Effect we got a quest on one of those worlds that had a story, that's what we need more of. I'd like to see side quests in these open regions that somehow relate to the story or are a side plot on their own.

I haven't played the new Mad Max game but its vehicular control is what maybe Bioware should aim for with the mako: mindless fun. If I'm going to be on some nearly empty planet then can I at least have a car that can drive fast rather than one that is a chore to manage? The mako itself can be improved with how it feels and controls. I want it to feel heavy when I'm driving it, perhaps it can even smash through natural structures but the versatility comes in when it's able to drive up uneven cliff-sides and propel into the air.

#19655934 Nolan North for protagonist

Nolan North can voice both the male and female protagonist. Hell, just get the guy to voice the entire game.

#19600656 Changes to the BSN

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 24 août 2015 - 11:43 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

I jokingly announce I was leaving the Bioware forums and then a day later, the off topic is closing? It can't be a coincidence, Bioware got upset and thought what was the point of having the off-topic without their favourite poster.

But in all seriousness...YOU MONSTERS!

...and thank you I guess. I can now finally be free of this toxic wasteland!

#19600626 Off topic closure and where we go from here.

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 24 août 2015 - 11:32 dans Dragon's Dogma Pawn Community

I jokingly announce I was leaving the Bioware forums and then a day later, the off topic is closing? It can't be a coincidence, Bioware got upset and thought what was the point of having the off-topic without their favourite poster.

Seriously though I did not see that coming any time soon. It's a god damn shame as there was just so much fun and drama to be had in the off-topic. I guess it was too much toxicity for Bioware's mods to handle! (No but seriously we were the best part of the entire forum and probably the most civil in comparison to the ME and Inquisition forums lol)

As you guys know I've not been part of all this pawn sharing and until Dragon's Dogma Online comes out in the west (and eventually - and hopefully - a Dragon's Dogma 2) I probably won't post much here or anywhere else in this forum for that matter but I'd like to give my thanks to each of you for keeping the Dragon's Dogma thread entertaining and going for so many years. There's been some good posts in that thread.

I share Shepenwepet's pessimism about the groups here seeing as the new "rules" want this forum to be a place only for discussion of Bioware and its games. As a result it's hard to see how groups not relating to such discussions will fit into any of this and I can see them being closed too, it wouldn't even surprise me now if the group system was removed entirely.

Well I see no point in creating my own thread for this since there's one here...

Well guys I fear this is farewell from me too. I'm not even joking this time, I've finally become bored of the BSN and have decided to move on to greener grass. You think I'm joking but when you don't see me posting in a couple of days from now, you'll see I was telling the truth.

Farewell pervs.

I've only tried barcardi rum. It was alright but one of the recent drinks I have tried and loved is the new Jack Daniels Tennessee Fire cinnamon liqueur. God damn, I love it.

False.  Guns are way more contentious than bacon.  I mean, even most vegetarians I know admit they cheat for bacon.  Or at least miss it.
You're perfectly entitled to like them, though.

I hate bacon and pork. Can't understand why anyone even likes the meat. Bacon is mediocre and uncured pork just tastes like absolute **** so it's no wonder the Jews decided to ban that crap. Only the finest meats for them and pork just doesn't get the cut.

But then not everyone can afford lamb and beef steak like me so I suppose the peasants will have their pork.

#19595689 Official Fallout 4 and DLC Discussion Thread

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 23 août 2015 - 11:19 dans The Lobby (Off Topic)

Fallout's gameplay has always been average, Obsidian really couldn't do anything with it. Though the settings was boring, the writing was quite nice, especially since the development time was shorter than FO3.

I thought the gameplay was the only good thing about Fallout 3 and obviously New Vegas uses the exact same gameplay with little unchanged. Same shooting mechanics and same V.A.T.S mechanics. The only difference I can think of is the iron sights and slightly different animations at work.

The short development time really shows. If the game had a better engine and longer development, I suppose more would have been done with it.

But I disagree on the setting. I really liked the western desert setting. For me the biggest disappointment is how small the city of New Vegas is.

Its hold on us can probably be explained by a lack of any engaging social interaction in real life. Not speaking for myself here because I have 2,000 facebook friends.

But if I was a lonely bastard the craziness of this forum would probably be the social interaction and entertainment from that I am currently lacking. If I was actually lonely.

I'm actually here to laugh at all you other people for partaking in this crazy world.

#19594406 Official Fallout 4 and DLC Discussion Thread

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 23 août 2015 - 04:30 dans The Lobby (Off Topic)

It did, but it was basically a huge expansion for Fallout 3, on the technical side that is.

It's Fallout 3 in everything but the writing and setting. Fallout 3's gameplay isn't bad thankfully but unfortunately all of Fallout 3's engine bugs also carried over to New Vegas. Even now with all its patches it can still be unstable but then again I never said Obsidian were the gods of development either because they are just as bad if not worst than Bethesda when it comes to releasing stable games.

#19593003 Official Fallout 4 and DLC Discussion Thread

Posté par Eternal Phoenix sur 23 août 2015 - 02:55 dans The Lobby (Off Topic)

Then you're clearly clueless about how software development actually works and have no business speaking about it. Maybe you should think about the obvious fact that every system, every asset, every detail in a game actually has to be built by somehow. Technology is not magic, where problems vanish because you throw "millions" (as if that was a lot of money) at them.

Since I've done software development I know how it actually works but that's irrelevant here since that's not the problem we're discussing here. We're discussing money here and if you have money as a company then you can hire someone called a "software developer" to solve the problem for you. No knowledge required.

"Throwing money" at a screen won't solve a problem but if you hire developers then they'll solve the problem and hiring more developers requires more money so the argument that "Bethesda, even though they have the money, don't have a big enough team or resources" just doesn't work since they do have the money to increase their team or resources. You've once again missed the point I made above in my prior post.

You're trying to argue that a big company like Bethesda cannot put time, resources and a team aside to work on the smaller details even though, given the excessive smaller details in their games, we can see they have a team exactly for that? Next you'll be saying that's it not expected for them to work to fix the bugs in their own game because of "time-constraints" and "limited resources" but time constraints are set by the publisher but seeing as Bethesda are their own publisher here, that excuse doesn't work for them either.

So yeah, umm, back to my original point, literally no reason not to include a first person body other than laziness or a bad development team and given the state of Bethesda's past games upon release, I'm going with the later option.
