Try that. It should be more or less a similar process, but remember to do your research and make backups of your data.

So....anyone know what to do when installing a new SSD to an existing system and how to put your OS onto it?

You need to clone the disk. Look around online for tutorials. It's actually pretty easy.

I don't mind W10, but it feels like it's in your face. All the time. 

I think it's because I absent-mindedly clicked 'Accept' on the agreement thing. Once you've gone past that, you either have to accept the update, or try and restart your computer to avoid it; not even Task Manager closes the window.

I would follow your advice Troo, but I'm actually being forced to upgrade. I can either delay for a few days or just let the upgrade happen now.

Should I get Windows 10? 

I had a PS1 and probably something before that. The earliest console I've ever played on was something my aunt's kids had. I can't remember the name of the console, but there was a game that had you control a bird and you had to escape the cage you were in?

Steven Universe is far and beyond my favorite thing on TV right now. It's such a good show. The characters are just... and the way the plot slowly unfolds... and the LAYERS there are to everything. 

 

Rebecca Sugar, the creator of the show, got her start in Adventure Time, and is generally credited with some of their best episodes, like the ones involving Marceline and Marcy and Simon. Being given her own show has only given her the chance to truly shine.

 

The character, God the characters. I can't even. I could go on about how much I love each and every one of them, and I'm still in awe at the **** the show handles in a mature and respectful way. Homosexuality, transexuality, death, war, loss, grief, violence, loneliness, PTSD, anxiety...

 

And it doesn't beat you over the face with any of it, like, say, Inquisition.

First of all, I'd appreciate it if you didn't call one of my friends a moron.

Second, I completely agree with everything you said regarding the show. Is there some way I can watch the episodes as they come on? I've watched all of them online but there aren't any more and I'd rather not have to explain to my mum and brother that I still watch cartoons. Not because I don't think they'd understand but rather... it just feels embarrassing, like I'm not supposed to, you know?

Anyway, any suggestions would be nice. 

But... literally everything ever has some kind of fandom, hell, you're in a group that is part of the Mass Effect fandom. I think you're having problems with, not so much the idea of fandoms in general but what certain people do within them; for instance, draw fan-art that makes you uncomfortable.

And that's okay. I get that.

You are your own person with your own tastes. I mean, the whole shipping thing within the Steven Universe fandom makes me feel uncomfortable, because I just don't see the characters acting that way. But it doesn't affect how I enjoy the show because it's a separate entity. Some people like the idea of "oh what would happen if X went with Y" because, well, they just do.

It's understandable why you feel this way, but the way people act is their business and shouldn't dictate what you feel about something. Also, no one will ever know if you enjoy something without telling them, so you don't have to say anything if it makes you uncomfortable for some reason.    

Again, you are you. You aren't expected to do anything. I just thought SU is a great show and maybe it might bring as much enjoyment to others as it has to me. 

I would but sadly it's still too popular for me to even consider watching.

And that's not a hipster-y thing it's a "I want to avoid fandoms and enjoy it on my own terms and not receive a mountain of backlash and ridicule if I don't like it" thing.

 

Plus I am a surly arsehole (well, surly in my viewing habits anyway) who has no joy in anything no more but managed to cry at a Star Trek Voyager episode yesterday (Season 4, episode 13 if you were curious) so I am not the best judge for "good" shows.

... what on Earth are you talking about? I'm watching the show "on my own terms" and I am completely ambivalent to the fandom the show has (understandably) generated. You don't have to become involved in anything - as long as you, yourself, enjoy it, then that's the end of that. You won't receive any hate unless you actively go looking and prodding for it.

Also, I find it a little curious that you have to project yourself as a "surly arsehole who has no joy in anything no more" when that has nothing to do... with anything. Whatsoever. I'm not sure I understand, really.

It gets even better after about 30-something episodes. Much like Adventure Time, I think it's good that they're keeping it short, because then they can't hold back on the intensity and focus and it's easy to binge watch the whole thing.

I agree, it actually gives me a bit of a rush whenever **** goes down.

So I've been watching a lot of Steven Universe recently.

Holy ****. It's so good. The characters, I've never felt so attached to fictional aliens since Mass Effect; the art is beautiful and vivid but also simple; the story is so rich it makes a strawberry tart look like a mound of concrete. And as the episodes progress you actually feel like Steven is growing up and coming to terms with who he is and what he has to do.

Just go and watch it if you haven't already. Give it at least 10 episodes before you decide if you like it or not, because it can be very deceiving in how it presents itself: it looks like a cartoon about a weird kid living with aliens that save the world, but it goes much, much deeper than that.

My only couple of gripes with the show are that the episodes are, at the most, 11 to 12 minutes long; they can feel rushed and so some the situations the characters get into don't feel... genuine, I guess? It's like you get a tiny glimpse into this massive coming-of-age space-epic, but you want to know and see so much more. It's pretty ingenious, actually.

Anyway, go an watch it and see if you like it. I've been watching them all here.
