#19627451 Man/woman romances...unfair?

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 31 août 2015 - 07:25 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

While I agree with what everyone here has said about the ratio of love interests for the male and female being off balance, one thing I am glad of is that not everyone is straight and not everyone is gay or bi. See I know this is a game and in the game everyone would be the same if we had it our own way, Could romance anyone we wanted to no matter our sex, race, creed, etc. However, I am glad there are "differences". Just like IRL. Some are straight, some are gay, some are bi. I agree they need to give us a wider range of romance interests, I love the fact that Cullen is straight and that he will not romance a dwarf etc. I love that Sera only loves women, and Solas only elves. (makes me want to play different scenarios to enjoy the game fuller.) On the other hand, I played a male to experience the Dorian romance, I am female, in case you could not tell by my name, lol, and play only females. I also played a male to romance Cassandra and wanted to see the male perspective with josephine. I hope this does not bring out a bunch of meanness as I meant no harm in posting this. Just my view on the way things are.   That being said my Dwarf would have loved to romance Varric, and I miss not having Leliana as a romance option too.

#18181373 The Verchiel March for Sera

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 24 décembre 2014 - 04:35 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

But you do have to find the noble, first.  That took me several minutes of looking around to find out what the hell was going on.

Thanks all. Where did you find him? I explored every inch of the area and it must have been bugged both times because I did not see him. I will save then reload and hopefully that will help.

After killing the baddies, did you walk forward and talk to the noble? If the noble didn't load, I'd reload and try again.

Hmm no noble either time i did it. I will try it this time.

Is there a "World Map" option on the map? Some of the companion quests only exit through doors or gates or the like.

Not from that area. I tried, First thing I tried actually. No travel within crestwood and no travel by world either. No biggy will romance her and see if that works next run thru. '

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 24 décembre 2014 - 01:36 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

I ordered a march through Verchiel via the war table, after it was completed I talked to Sera. We traveled to the stash location. Once we got there we were attacked. Now we cannot get out of that area, cannot even fast travel out of it. Cannot go back the way we entered either. Any suggestions? Is it bugged? Thanks for the help all. The last time this happened I reloaded a save and then just skipped this part and told her i was not ready to go yet, then did not go.

I am not romancing her.

#18163379 Red Templar Stronghold on The Storm Coast.

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 22 décembre 2014 - 06:31 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Just inside the FIRST cave, not far form the Inquisition guards, there is an animal skeleton you need to loot, it's got a deep mushroom in it, so easy to miss but it has the key.

No wonder. Thanks!! I know which deep mushroom you mean now. :)

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 21 décembre 2014 - 08:08 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

I cannot find the Red Templar Key that is needed to open the one locked door. I have cleaned the place out and explored it three times seeing if there was any loot I missed or anyone i did not kill  but cannot find it. Help please. I have checked several maps that showed where it is to no avail. How am I missing it. I have been to the door several times to make sure I did not have it on me and it is still locked saying I need the Red Templar Key. Thanks for any help.

I have looted everything and killed everything and used the boat but still no way to unlock that door. I will give up for now. Spent too long looking. Should not have to spend a couple of hours in a dungeon this size, looking for one item. Ill try again later have 11/12 of the red lyrium deposits found for Varric. Will get the last one for Varric somewhere else.

Thanks. I did the Coracavus dungeon. Found Servis and missed something it seems. I will do it again.

LMAO. It was so simple. For some reason I did not even attempt to go to the gates from that side.....Thanks!!

You have to take a long detour starting northeast from Griffon Wing Keep and through Coracavus dungeon. Numbers in this map, 23-36-24-25-26. To get started, you need to do the War table mission at #23.

Thanks. I did the Coracavus dungeon. Found Servis and missed something it seems. I will do it again.

As diagorias said above, there are two sets of gates in the Western Approach that can only be opened from the inside (i.e. from the north - Echoback Fort's side). There are simple levers by the gates that you must pull to open th

I know there are two gates but do no remember seeing any levers. Thanks ill look again. I am the type of person that explores every fraction.

I am stuck at this spot, I have to be missing something. Keep going back to the places I have been and still  nothing. Thanks!!! Maybe I have missed some darkspawn??

#18149362 How can anybody who has played DAO actually like this game?

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 20 décembre 2014 - 06:02 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I lost count at how many times I have played DAO(I know way over 50 times, closer to 100 I think). With all the new mods out there for it, it always keeps my attention. That being said I just love DAI. Already have 275 hours of play in Inquisition since launch. So yea those that LOVE DAO can also LOVE DAI. I liked DAII also (did not love it). I have had minor bugs in the PC version, and since I have no idea how games are made, tho I do know they are very time consuming and it is impossible to catch every bug before launch (tested many player made mods in DAO), I will not complain about the game. The only issue I have with it, but understand how hard it could be because of how massive it is, is that we could not import our own game into DAI. However the choices are good. I love the story line and think that DAI is a much better game than DAO in all respects.

Just a note from me that I've experienced almost none of the issues (pre or post patch 2) that many seem to have:

I'm playing on PC with a 360 controller. I was already expecting Bioware would have Mass Effect style controls (no more Origins style) so was prepared to play with a game-pad for a better experience.

I have the newest nvidia drivers and a gtx 780. My processor is quite old to (i7 950) and I have 12gb ram.

I'm playing 1440p resolution and almost all settings on high/ultra.

The only problem was stuttering in cut-scenes but the 60fps tweak fixed that for me.

I have also not experienced a single crash or freeze and I'm 24 hours into the game.

I am with you on this too. I have had a few minor issues since the patch but nothing game breaking and nothing prior to the patch. Game has crashed once in 242 hours of game play...ok so I love the game...that was prior to the patch and was on my end.

Even if I was the only person on the planet to think the PC version is overall fine (and by my own observations I'm definitely not), I'd still stand by it. I don't get this idea that you need to validate your opinions by saying ''look how many people also think that!''. If I like something, I'm going to like it no matter how uncool it makes me in some circles. That's why I hate statements that begin with ''All True PC Gamerstm''. It very much sounds like the person is appealing to a nebulous, arbitrary demographic in order to validate their personal opinions.

That said, if there's lots of people having PC issues (as in, crashes, bugs and the like), by all means Bioware should fix them, as they're already doing barring the Patch 2 mishap. That said, when it's a question of design, that's up to them and they don't have an obligation to fix it, even if I personally think the tactical camera needs some work.

I too, have had very little to no issues with the PC version. Any issues I had before the patches were minor and the ONLY issue I had after the 2nd patch is my scars are gone, but that is ok. My females had scars before that but It is not a game breaker for me like it is for some. A game of this scope cannot come out perfect. Anyone that has any knowledge about game design knows this. I tested mods that were made for DAO (does not make me an expert tho) and one thing I do know is that no matter how many of us tested the mods before release, after release there was ALWAYS some issue that one person might have due to the mod or conflicts. We need to give Bioware/EA a time to fix everything. As we all know that fixing one issue can cause issues for something else. If someone tested the patch maybe they did not think it would affect the scars or the things that were not broken prior to the patch. That is why they have feedback and forums to find out what is wrong in case they missed it. I agree with the Tactical camera issue it could be worked on. I for one love the game.

Yeah, as an "older people" (I'm 42... wait... 43... what year is it again? Holy shyte, make that 44 in less than a month...) who's been gaming since you whipper snappers were less than a twinkle in your pappy's eye (as a 10yo I was beating all the boys at space invaders at the local shops on the way home from primary school), I'm all for the progressive. I still think that a stupid console port is not the game that was heavily advertised.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to find my cane.

LMAO LOVE IT. I will be 60 in October next year so I do qualify as a "older people". I am one of those that played on the old pin ball machines then my first console was an Atari with pac man and lemmings. Bethgael I can loan you my cane but i WILL need it back. :) Dragon Age was my first love in games of this type.

Simplest way to complain.

The PC experience is bad, really really bad.

This game doesn't worth 73 $ .....

Actually I LOVE it. It has been running smoothly for me and even before the patch had minor to no issues. After the patch a few minor issues that I can live with. There are just as many of us out there that think the PC experience is good, really really good. I think the game was worth the money. Just my 3 cents worth. Hope you find a game you are happy with.

Playing on PC, Nvidia card. Patch hasn't resulted in any of the issues in this thread for me, which is odd. I seem to be perfectly fine. Better than fine, actually, I haven't crashed all day except when I tried to ultra everything in the graphics menu then I started to get the dx crash again. That still needs fixing. Otherwise, it's an awesome patch for me ;x

I too am using a Nvidia card on my PC. Aside from a minor issue with the scars and Varric looking like he was tripping in a hole when I was talking to him in Haven, I have had no issues either. Have not crashed before or after patch. Very pleased with the results of this patch.

yes they always have a beta, but most of the time the programers either don't care or don't hear aboutthe beta testers complaints. Thats how real 'game development' works :/

Ok, I read in the text that the update was sposed to reduce hair shinnyness... umm did they mistakingly make the patch notes wrong because on my game, the shinniness is like though the roof. So umm can I have a roll back please?

My Dalish Elf now looks like a Grease monkey from the 60's... you know from like Grease...

I noticed the shininess is down in mine but what I love is that the hair looks "softer". It could depend on the color of the hair too. I noticed the darker colors looked shinier than the lighter ones. At least for me.

I had NO issues before the patch, now I do. They are minor tho and so far have not been an issue. 1) First of all I just LOVE the way the hair looks. I created a new character and her hair is still shiny but more natural looking and softer looking. However I had no scars under the scars on creation. The tatoos and everything else seems to work fine in creation but no scars. (let me know if it is on my end). Had scars before. Have not logged into my one created before the patch to see if her scar is still there. 2). While talking to Varric in Haven in the beginning of the game after the initial Chantry scene, his right leg kept looking like it was buckling under him or like he kept stepping in a hole while standing there talking to me. 3) the one I think is the worst is this one. When you first start and the box pops up (to let you veiw something) It used to say use ctrl. Now it says ConceptMenuAltView. So far I have found nothing that is a game breaker but will let other issues be known. I have read some of the "RANTS" that people are doing and feel we need to give them a chance. This is a massive game and how can we expect it to be perfect every time. I used to test mods in DAO and even tho we THOUGHT we had caught every problem someone else would ALWAYS find something, no matter how small, wrong. Everyone sees different things. I have NEVER liked any other game series more than all the Dragon age series. I love Inquisition and cannot wait to see what, if any, DLC;s etc they add on to it. (side stories, more romance, etc, would be wonderful). Just seems that some people have to have something to Complain about.

Must be my system because I have not had the crashing that others have with the new patch and I have not, YET, had any of the other issues, but will keep my eye out for them.

If you ever updated at all you're going to be out of luck several people in the patch thread have already tried it it invalidates all your save files as being from a previous patch.

I just started a save I had from before the patch and it works for me. I started a mage yesterday and then after the patch today played it, It is working fine for me. Has not invalidated any of my saves from a previous patch. I have Origin and it auto downloaded my patch when I logged in this afternoon.

Origin should auto-update, you can also force an update by right clicking the game from the origin window and clicking update. However the patch doesn't appear to be up yet.

Thanks should have said PC. I figured as much because I searched and searched and did not find the patches.

#18023638 PC Community Concerns

Posté par ladyluck278 sur 09 décembre 2014 - 03:53 dans News & Announcements

No, that wasn't my point.  The game wasn't programmed by the user; the user bought the box, just like now.  The user took the box home, installed it, and played it.  There were bugs.  If sufficiently motivated, the user could find the fixes and fix it.  The above is an example of the fact that it is NOT outside of expectations for a game to be shipped with bugs and it is certainly not because we have become desensitized to it.  The more complex the software, the more complex the bugs.  The contract for buying software has always been that if it's broken it will be fixed.  It's been that way since the first game.

I get that it's frustrating to buy a game and have it not work.  I've experienced that frustration.  I've stopped buying from some companies because they've deviated way too far from what I consider acceptable, and that includes the level of bugs and polish on release.  The more they do that, the less people will buy them.  It's a self-correcting problem.

The next time Bioware releases an RPG, will you pre-order it or buy it the day of?  Or will you wait to see if they lied about the development?  Or will you be okay with the bugs and wait for a fix?  These are all subjective things.  There is no industry or publisher standard to push against.  There are only individual decisions by publishers and game companies.  You decide which fulfill their contract with you or not, and then you buy from them again or not.

tldr;  this has been the case since day one, with retail releases in the box, no expectations have changed

Am I the only one that had NO issues with this game at all from day one? I did the digital pre-order and found nothing to be game breaking. Found a few MINOR issues that can be over looked but I think the game at least for the PC was mostly bug free. A game on this expansion will ALWAYS have bugs, should be expected whether you purchase in a box or on line. That is why there are patches done to create. I for one will always pre order mine. I pre-ordered DAO when it first came out, for my Xbox, then moved to the PC. Oh have not tried the multiplayer yet so not sure if bugs exist there.

If this was answered before I am sorry to ask again but I did NOT read every answer or comment on here. I am NOT new to the Dragon Age Series and just LOVE inquistion but cannot find the patches. Where do I go to download the patches or is it automatic? Thanks for the responses and anyone that wants to call me a dummy feel free as I do not take these things personally. :)
