Pretty much. It would help to know just how old this laptop is though regardless, super old machines are likely very much part of the reason why light distros like Lubuntu and Xubuntu exist. If it's new/powerful enough to run the likes of Ubuntu/Linux Mint though, then that's fine, you don't really need a lightweight alternative.

So getting the OS back is going to be a pain in the ass, it seems, since I don't have a disk with one on it. I just want to play Morrowind, dammit.

You could always look to Linux, which is free, and depending on how old your lappy is there are lightweight distros available like Lubuntu that could really help to increase performance. Of course this depends on whether you actually need Windows for certain software or not, because WINE apparently isn't perfect. Hell, you could just use Linux in the meantime until you get a new copy of Windows (insert version here).

If you wish to keep the OS without wiping it along with everything else, maybe this might help you out.

Yeah, the show has really come a long way since then. Since I haven't watched any of the show in a crazy long time, I think I'll  watch from Season 1 again, preferably when Season 5 finishes though.

Oh yeah. If the Wii U ever does start to put GC titles on the store, they could put on Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn. Considering Wii games are available on the Wii U Virtual Console.

I'm surprised that there is hardly a fan movement to get FE6 localized. FE7 was a prequel.

 

And is FE12 better than Shadow Dragon?

Fire Emblem New Mystery of the Emblem -Heroes of Light and Shadow- (what a title) is generally considered to be much better than Shadow Dragon. Plus it was the first game to introduce the Avatar concept.

The games are releasing in Japan on June 25th, so I guess we really will have to wait and see until importers and the like get their hands on it to see how it is. FE14 isn't coming to the West until 2016 at any rate.

See, this is why we need Fire Emblem 4 released outside of Japan, to give the series the respect it deserves.

YES. That, FE5, FE6 and FE12 too. They're even all capable of being released on the Wii U virtual console as well. Nintendo would never do it though, they only ever bring international only games if there is only little to translate or it is already available in english, like Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, Earthbound and Final Fantasy I, IV and VI in Europe's VC . Nintendo doesn't like messing with VC games much, preferably leaving them in their original state if at all possible which is why we never got any N64 games on Wii VC which required the Controller Pak/Memory Card to save progress. Makes me wonder about the Wii U VC version of DK64 though and if they've changed their policy considering the game's Rare logo plastered about and playable Jetpac.

Of course it won't. It never does. I'm not expecting anything remotely complex from Fire Emblem.

I kind of wish there was an option to become a loyalist and genuinely commit to Nohr's warmongering. An actual evil path would be a breath of fresh air for Fire Emblem and would contrast nicely with its main themes.

Well, apparently there will be choices you make throughout the game, which can affect which units you can recruit. No idea if it will expand beyond this to the point of changing the story itself though.

So apparently, no idea if this is truly official or not, but it seems like us Westerners will be getting the Hoshido/White Kingdom version only, with the Nohr/Black Kingdom Story being available as DLC at a reduced price. Still no word on this third DLC only story as of yet. Once again though, there will be a version available sometime after launch that has everything. No idea if that is just Japan only though. Yet again, no idea if any of this is truly official.

Yeah, it really is pretty scummy that this is even happening in the first place. What the hell Nintendo? The only other series they've ever done this with that isn't Pokemon was Zelda with the Oracle games on GBC, Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons. Those two titles were alright though, because the games were almost completely different from each other, with different lands, plot and mechanics effectively making them their own games save for some recurring characters. The only thing that really linked them was the linked story obtained when you beat one game, took the password at the end and input it into a new save on the other, it unlocked extra story (along with a bunch of other secrets and items, some of which existed in the other game) after the normal final boss and revealed the truth behind everything. It was actually pretty cool back then.

It doesn't seem like it's going to be anything like this at all for these two titles though, going off of what we know so far...

Marmite all the way. Screw Vegemite though, seriously. Tried it once, never again. Speaking of, I know a guy who loves Marmite so much he will actually use it on almost everything, including stuff that was never meant to have spread on in the first place. It got really bad sometimes.
