Part of me's unsurprised considering the annual trends: Jessica shuts down Photo Albums/Polls, Conal shuts down Off-Topic, etc.

Part of me's mournful since a huge amount of my life was bettered by this place, the community in particular.

If I had incentive towards playing their games or chatting in their non-existent off-topic, I'd be pretty bummed.

As mentioned before, the best spots to find BioWarian forums outside of here are either Vroom Social Network, or Top Shelf Gaming.

Nope. My experience with swearing is that it's used either for emphasis or insults; Swearing is generally considered for adults, but I don't qualify it as mature. As far as usage, it depends on the character. If ME2's Jack is speaking shakespearean and Tali's dropping F bombs, it ain't gonna fit. If planetary bandits and badasses are using the language, than that's fine n' dandy. Frankly, I'm more concerned on quality of the writing than the vulgarity.

I'd expect BioWare to use them as most would use fine china - only for special occasions.

It's in BioWare's nature to either go full goofy, or a mix of both. Those looking for fully dark tone in modern titles are better off with FromSoftware's Souls/BB or maybe Obsidian's stuff - Pillars of Eternity leans somewhat toward macabre.

Short Answer: I'd love a dark BioWare game, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Guilty Crown? If only Biower could be so grossly incandescent. If they can find an appropriate way to get ME Andromeda's assumed antagonist to erase the chaos the same way Gai monitors Leucolytes, BioWare would rise above the sequelitis power fantasy iterations into the greatest narrative experience they've done since MDK2. A metamorphosis, really. If we don't see a 6-armed dog at one point or another in ME:A, what last remnant of hope I had for BioWare's current state in the gaming industry would be but dust in the wind.

Please BioWare, vote for 6-armed cigar dogs. Do it for the fans.

I'm personally not bugged by it - A trailer isn't a game, that's marketing to the demographic which they're targeting...which of course raises the question of why they'd skimp out for so long on that. BioWare's known for Diversity/Equality/Yadda Yadda in their games, so.

If it were purely a Cinematic trailer, I'd kinda get that as that could confuse people. As Bethesda's showing off gameplay as well, there's not really a dissonance created between the trailer and the audience. Here's your options, Generic Guy or the skin-tight bootyimeanwoman.

So yes, BioWer pls go back to your roots or something.

This comes off as an excessive version of what Jessica Merizan and Co. started a couple years ago with the removal of quite a few social features, and I'm sure this has been mentioned in, oh, the last 30 pages? Blowing up the entire Off-Topic? The only way I've been surviving between games is through Off-Topic. Quite a few gaming message boards still have Off-Topic boards without it getting carried away. But if it's under the guise of encouraging DA:I/ME posting, then I suppose that's justified? Sorry, I'm not fooled either.

Not like my words are going to change things anyways, same as last time - what I'm mentioning is just white noise if they're gung ho about pulling this off. Well, good luck keeping your core fanbase posters in the long term.

Got to the end of SSY a while ago - the twist wasn't *too* surprising, but adds a fitting theme to the overall story. Had its ups and downs, but I enjoyed the series.

Saw the first episode of Yu Yu Hakusho. Got a nostalgic 80s/90s anime vibe from it, and a premise that bounces between Dead Like Me and It's a Wonderful Life. It's not really my cup of tea, but it was a neat watch from what I saw.

And I'm gone. *Poof* :ph34r:

Getting near the end-game for Shadowrun...yeah, the changes aren't as dramatic as Dragonfall has, but I'm still enjoying it for what it is. Quests have been pretty inventive, with Outsider as my favorite. The Disruption of Futuristic Feng Shui? I see... The Jack-In Matrix sections are a hell of a lot harder - I wouldn't mind the tracers if it weren't for how frequent and quick the little buggers are. Trying to get through some of this without tripping the alarm requires serious save-crawling.

Story-Wise, some of it almost reminds me of PS:T with the surrealistic threat of this enormous ornate woman in a dilapidated setting... though virtually all of that so far is stuck in the collective subconsious.

So far, so good.

Trying to marathon Stephen Universe a bit hyah. The last episode involved a giant metal Eyeball-In-The-Sky and a waffle iron. o.O Can't say I gel that well with the show, but it certainly has an endearing weirdness to it.

Edit: Just finished Season 1, that was pretty damn good.

A resolution was definitely not what I expected. Season 2 Episodes 1-8 can be found right here.

In MLP-Related News, the mid-season hiatus is ending with the next episode starting on the 12th of Septermber. (Source) Hope ya like marshmallows.

Last but not least, even more to add in the nostalgia machine.

I'd totally be down for that. Could definitely see my brother and I checking that out when it releases.

Did see the Gravity Falls episode D&D& More D. One of the better ones - it's a nice build-up between Dipper and the Other Stan in an effective way - lots and lots of nerd jokes. Similar to Adventure Time's Card Wars, but a bit more clever. They've delightfully self-aware of their own audience and how their own show is perceived. Also comes with an important end-point that'll likely lead through the remainder for Season 2, or at least part of it. Want to show off to your girlfriend? Just give her the D&D&D.

Yep, going to hell for that joke.

Anyways, I'll see what else I can check out during the weekend.
