I believe EA's quarters run differently than the norm, but I'm betting on March 2017. 28th specifically.

I'm willing to give David Gaider more of the benefit of the doubt than that. He had a long history here since the BG days. I suspect it's bitter sweet.

Though honestly, his feelings are none of my business.

I'd say probably more bitter than sweet. Considering he deleted is Tumblr and frankly wasn't too friendly online with fans in general.

I had him figured out though during DAI's development. He liked to kick down theory sandcastles as they formed on threads. Specifically the ones that were actually onto something lol.

Thanks for making sure I'm aware guys! :D

This seems like the best substitute so far, but I've messaged those in charge with a few suggestions.

There is indeed a "dark" option if all the BRIGHTNESS is-off putting to you.

AbilityDrain downloaded the Xbox Magazine UK article and said "it's the same ol' ****, exclusive my arse," and that they quoted a lot of stuff from E3 essentially.

Xbox magazine has always been "iffy" journalism in my experience, but occassionally they give you a nugget of info.

Like back in DAI days, they gave us "Solace". XD

The magazine isn't available in the US yet it seems... but *shrugs* doesn't seem to be all that exciting.

Posté par BioFan (Official) sur 31 juillet 2016 - 02:21 dans General Discussion

Reading it now, it does actually have some new information.

The ark-like ship (one of them?) is called "The Hyperion".

The Tempest is Ryder's base of operations, and Aaryn Flynn didn't really answer when asked if we could fly it ourselves [the leaks suggest we can]. Mac and Aaryn said they're trying to push what Frostbite can do and what Mass Effect can do, in terms of locations and environments.

Part of the article hinted at outer-space environments/levels.

Someone caught that from EA PLAY trailer. I think there was even thread for that (I can be wrong, since there was so many of them...). So not really something new.

The tempest being the base is obvious, but nice to be confirmed. Instead of the big colony sips.

True,

However, criticism here is concentrated. Out "there" it will be scattered.

There are more people on twitter and other social media than on here. I don't think them being scattered really changes anything.

#20417324 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par BioFan (Official) sur 30 juillet 2016 - 10:37 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

Where am I gonna write all that, on Twitter?

Besides "respectful" is a relative term. Relative to how I'm really feeling. For example, right now I'm feeling pretty disrespectful. There are alot of things I want to say. So, the mighty effort I'm employing to communicate respectfully may still have a little Bite to it.  But compared to what I really want to say, it's pretty darn respectful...trust.

Your voice is louder when it is respectful. Call them out by all means, but do so with critique, not insult. I'm not a happy camper either. I wouldn't be in here if I were. What do you think happened with ME3's ending? There was a strong enough response to cause change. I doubt they listed to those who didn't give them anything to go on. They listen to those who (while can still fully be unhappy with the situation) give them constructive criticism

Twitter, email, whatever you have at your disposal. It's better than not saying anything.

I don't think that'll help. They've clearly made their decision, so the only thing left to do is plan for the future.

Again, better than nothing.

#20416835 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par BioFan (Official) sur 30 juillet 2016 - 08:18 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

Instead of jumping off into an unofficial forum that probably won't end up being successful, I'd say it's a better use of time and effort to communicate RESPECTFULLY to EA's and BioWare's community teams about why the forums were a good thing to have, what you liked about them, and most importantly what purposes they serve/served for the companies. Maybe nothing will happen, but it's better than doing nothing.

Wanna know why they are closing down the forums and moving on to social media? To silence critics or negative backlash on their products and focus more on marketing like useless Facebook posts and tweeter posts about what color of underwear they are using

That's not going to stop criticism. At all. Which makes this even more confusing...

#20416494 Concerning Our Forums

Yeah the forum looks nice but letting Cassandra Saturn in charge of a forum is the path to madness.

I don't think it really matters. Without a semi-official forum, any attempt will be fruitless.

Hey gang...

Just wanted to quickly pop my head in here, completely flaunt the forum rules, and say thank you for all your PMs, support and ideas for keeping this great community alive.  :)  :)  :)

Unfortunately, this all dropped in my lap the first day of my vacation, so it's going to be 3 - 4 days before I can really get my head around this. I've spent a couple of hours just trying to catch up. I (to the surprise of no one...) have a lot of feelings on this and will definitely chime in the main thread when I get back home.

Enjoy your vacation. Don't think about it, relax, take time off, you've more than earned it!

I agree with ZipZap. If you an EP wanna formulate something to move forward/onward, we'll follow. I'll help out anyway I can, help bring in masses, etc.

When you're ready to come back, I'm more than willing to help out if you'd like to formulate a new plan to move forward if you'd like to keep being the shining beacon of amazingness you've been for the fandom.

#20413536 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par BioFan (Official) sur 30 juillet 2016 - 01:32 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

The more I think about it, the more I think they are trying to rebuild the community. The BSN was a big project, shifting the community from the old legacy forums to the BSN. It feels like the new Bioware community managers are very deliberately trying to undo the community that was built by Chris Priestly in the years past. I don't know if Priestly was the guy who made the decisions for the BSN, but that era of this community is very much being razed to the ground.

I can only think they must have some long-term plan to re-introduce a new forum community when ME:A launches in 2017. They probably want a fresh start with a totally clean slate, rather than trying to redeem this community that they inherited.

That's kinda what I'm hoping for. I'm hoping the community team gets bombarded with so much respectful and constructive feedback about needing this type of setting that a new forum is launched later. IDK, I'm probably hoping for something that may never happen, but I can't really do much else.

The community team is reading the posts on the thread. Your voices are being heard here. We're not sure what will come of them being heard. Maybe nothing will come of it. Maybe something will, but use your voices wisely. Communicate your feelings, communicate your thoughts, your woes, your sorrow, your confusion. Just communicate it respectfully and constructively. That is how it will be MUCH more likely heard.

The DA twitter thread had been something that was apart of my everyday life sense waiting on details for Awakening. I've had some great times here, and have loved it as the best place online that folks came together to put all the news info in one convenient place. I'll miss this place, and remember it fondly.
