Why not? Don't you want to feel like a killing machine? A bad mother******? I think they should introduce hack and slash especially for warrior class, they might as well do it if they want to outweigh Witcher.

I'm a great fan of a more tactical approach than "button destruction". I also enjoy more thinking than relying in my reflexes. And I think it suits better for the RPG genre (and I'm saying RPG RPG, not things like Dark Souls who calls itself RPG just because of character progression).

I hope they don't turn Dragon Age into a hack'n slash. Back to Origins's combat (and its tactics) would be lovely.

For Honor is a PVP Game, nothing to do with RPG. It's made thinking more into e-sports, for everything we have seen until now.

Even if I believed that (which I don't) it doesn't change the fact that the inquisitor is no longer the hero and the interesting story potential of a closely connected protagonist and antagonist with elements of betrayal and revenge is just thrown away in favor of some new nobody with no connection.

The Inquisitor was a nobody before DAI too (same for the Warden before DAO and Hawke before DA2). Don't worry, they should know how to make good stories.

Because this was supposed to be Dragon Age not Guild Wars.

If you ever played Dragon Age: Origins you know it IS about strategy and preparation too.

I can't understand why people hate the skill limit. I liked it in Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2. Makes you think more about your abilities instead of smashing all the buttons.

And I don't know if I'm right, but looking closer to Bioware (by social media, you know) I could see they were moving their people to the current priority franchise to work on the game, but not everyone. The priority game now is Mass Effect. Maybe this tactics game is something the ones linked to Dragon Age can do with that few people while most of Bioware focus on finishing the new Mass Effect. I'm not a fan of ME, did they make something related to it after DAI became public? Maybe that's the matter, to not let Dragon Age fades away while they work on bigger projects from the other franchises (and there is the new IP too).

Well, well, what have we here? http://bit.ly/1KL32T6  #FanQuisitionFriday

Haven't seen them sharing my drawing! =O

And I hope we get the Dragon Age Tactics. Love these games, even the most hardcore like Rondo of Swords (for me it was the best NDS game ever).

Thankyou.

Why bother to read the topic? It's all on the first page...

Probably as opposed to a mobile/tablet game, given the context. So, "I'd play it but not if it was on my phone."

This style of game rarely works well on console, so they might not even be considering it.

How in the world it doesn't works well on console? It's turn based, you just have to navigate through menus! Even a calculator could do it, hahaha. Although I don't like to play on mobile devices. It's even worse if I consider I'm a Windows Phone user.

Main series title? NO.

Mobile? No.. I'm unsure though.

F2P? No.. I'm pretty sure.

If they're bringing up XCom, I think they should realize that XCom is a real, full game, on PC.

And that they should sell their tiny DLC through an unobtrusive way.

If its their only way of, for example, telling a story in Nevarra in the shorter (this next several years) term, then go for it. But I don't want another dinky tiny game like Dragon Age Legends, Journeys, Heroes, Last Court. If you're bringing up this idea then do it and do it right, but also keep some distance away from a DA4. Though I wouldn't really mind if it still kept into account the Dragon Age Keep.

User

Are we talking a full-fledged stand-alone game or a microtransition generator like The Last Court or Heroes of Dragon Age?

I think that would be interesting but I prefer Dragon Age go the route of a typical RPG, not tactical Personally.

You mean like Shining Force 1 and 2? I love those games!

Where is this poll I saw mentioned? I want to vote.

You have to go on twitter to vote.

Final Fantasy Tactics is still one of the best games ever made for me, so yes, I would love to have something like that in Thedas. I could even spend more time on it than I spent in DAO (and I spent a lot of time on DAO).

Welcome to the next three years of our lives.

Three years of expectations and suffering... hahaha

Anyway, I finally paid my tribute to Dragon Age. A tattoo photo is not fair to the artist, especially in the forearm (there is no perfect angle for it ,as our body are not plain as a paper and it will always look kind of deformed), but here I go (it's a huge picture, so I will hide it behind of a spoiler tag):

Yeah, we already paid 2 games in order to get all DLC, my credit card didn't even compensate the last one and there is the definitive edition. Lesson learned.

This is the sad thing about people who do not worship DAO :(
I wake up every morning and pray to each companion in Origins so that I never forget them (and also make bloody sacrifices and other stuff)

I wonder how people manage to forget Oghren. =P

I guess Amazon is the best place to buy books and comics. They send almost anything to any place, right? And it's shipping is cheaper than most stores I know. Things From Another World is good too. The main problem here is the custom house (sorry, don't know if this is the most appropriate term), things vanish very easily there. This week my father just got delivered some things he bought back in 2013, haha. He didn't even remember about that.

It's the same holiday in Canada too.

It's a holiday here in Brazil too, but not the same, haha. It's our Independence Day.

I don't remember the time PSN BR updates. Some say around 4PM, others around 8PM. I will be home on 6PM, so I hope to be able to buy and start the download ASAP. Even dismissed the RPG for tomorrow night.

One of my biggest reasons for not getting into the new consoles is that I don't want to deal with subscriptions when I don't have to. Maybe this'll change with higher and more stable income for myself, like I used to have, but it probably won't, because I think I'll still dislike subscriptions, because they suck, so there.

I have a PS3 and a PS4 and when my friends buy a new console, my first advice is to subscribe on PS+. Too much good for little money. Free games every month, cloud backup for saves, discount on games... It's worth. I'm saying it even when I pay twice the right price for my country, because when I got mine at first time, there was no store on PSN Brazil (my acc is from Portugal, brazilian price is R$100/year and I pay R$200/year because of euro value).

Should try DDO, it's full of ladies.

There are a lot of women in Guild Wars 2 too. When playing World vs World we have to go to teamspeak, so we listen to ladies all the time. Some of them are well known commanders in our server's community (not only on the server I am right now, but in the previous too).

#19612207 The Secret IP Twitter & Info Thread

Posté par r1ck182 sur 28 août 2015 - 06:49 dans General Discussion (NO Spoilers)

In a contemporary setting, your choices are pretty limited.  There are guns, there are melee weapons like swords or a variety of blunt objects, and of course there could be martial arts.

Alternately, if there's some fantasy aspect (or if for some weird reason we're werewolves, which I doubt), you could use a transformation and teeth/claws etc.  Possibly magic or superpowers, depending what precisely BioWare wants to do with this IP.  Again, we might be superheroes.  Or we might be in an urban fantasy (probably not though).

So here's a question for you all, and perhaps someone smarter than me will make an appropriate guess:

If we're going to have cities and the wilderness to explore, but we may also be visiting or starting in a research station, what kind of plot or game premise would lend itself to that?  And, will we continue to have companions, or will this be more of a solitary exploration type game?

Could be anything. Even when you talk about superheroes and powers, there is different approaches, like Daredevil vs Heroes, for example. I don't like shooters' gameplay. If we get to use guns with DAI-style combat or like The Witcher's crossbow, it would be ok for me.

I want a steampunk game, honestly, but I don't think the new IP will be it. I do love that genre, though.

Yeah, steampunk would be awesome, but sadly, I don't think it's the case here.

Am I the only one here who doesn't like Disney endings? Seriously, war is war. There are sacifices on both sides and why only peoply you don't care about could be dying? This is something I love about BW, you actually feel consequences of your actions. It's good when you can avoid your friend's death (like with Mordin, I save him everytime and I also don't want the genophage to be cured  :P ) but for a price. Dealing with world-shaking events shouldn't be easy and we as players are not afraid of every arrow as potential death (like it would be in reality) so the best way for us to feel the pressure of events are CHOICES  ;)

Well, that's the real world. Wars come and go and the ones who feed it never got into action. Only the "nobody" go to the battlefield and die. =P
