#20424645 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur hier, 04:37 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

For some reason, this decision is trending Facebook. I clicked the link and a considerable amount of people echo what we are saying in this very thread. Bioware, your Facebook fans are dismayed too!

I'm actually sick to my stomach. This is the heart of your community, Bioware. I wish I could put into words... I'm just so disappointed.

Michael Gamble ‏@GambleMike

Another level review today, another homerun by the team. A great mission that was unique in design, narrative, and art direction.

TorbJos ‏@Sjosz

Dan, Sean, Luke knocked it out the park.

Can't wait to enjoy it for myself.

#20358118 Do you want MEA to be a good RPG or is a good game with RPG elements enough

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 28 juin 2016 - 11:13 dans General Discussion

He pretty much is, though, since the consequences of a delay would fit in with his idea of a developer forcing a specific playstyle on a roleplayer.

It's completely different. The player can choose whether to go ahead with the mission or wait. The player still has control, there's just more pressure. My shep can still go mine Uranus as many times as they'd like before starting the mission. There will be consequences, yes, but it was my CHOICE to do so.

#20316803 RYDER CONFIRMED!

I like the name Grace Ryder

#20316793 Ryder siblings and the N7 character

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 14 juin 2016 - 01:45 dans General Discussion

I'm so for this, I'm so for all of it. Having family in DA2 gave the roleplaying aspect more colors to play with. It's like, okay, I have these awesome party members who I treat in some way, but then I have actual family too- I loved roleplaying as sarcastic hawke who would give Carver ****, but in the end, my Hawke always had her baby brother's back. I ended my playthrough with him being a friend rather than a rival, and he finally reciprocated the love in the 3rd act. It was heartwarming (bringing him along for the Legacy DLC was also a rewarding experience and had tender moments, as I learned more about the previous family dynamics) My other playthroughs did not see that happen, and he became even more of a brat by the 3rd act. I still loved him but he hated me.

I give this example because if we have our family play a role in the game, I hope to see something fundamentally similar to my experience above- organic and dynamic. I DO NOT want this feature handled in the way DA2's mother was handled. Everything about her relationship to my hawke seemed so forced and resembled a plot device more than a character. Especially considering what happens in act 2.

That 'makeup' or tattoo makes her look like an untrustworthy lunatic.

Good. I can't wait to get to know her.

I've had enough Cerberus for 3 games. At least the trilogy version.

#20181346 MASS EFFECT ANDROMEDA GAMEPLAY

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 02 avril 2016 - 11:03 dans General Discussion

Im curious about that guy. He has a distinct facial tattoo, I'm inclined to think he is at least slightly significant (or the tattoo is, maybe it's a mark for a faction.)

Also I am currently flipping out.

#20008523 What romance mechanics would you like in the new Mass Effect?

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 12 janvier 2016 - 07:27 dans General Discussion

the whole bang-before-final-mission mechanic should be played with. We can all agree that that moment is the climax of the relationship, no? Well having romantic sex before a deadly mission should be the occasion for a character who would do such a thing, and maybe the representation of such a climax can be executed differently for a different character. For example, What if the beginning of another character's relationship is just sex, and the whole relationship is filled with obvious physical attraction and impressiveness, and the climax can be them realizing there is much more? Or maybe there's nothing more than that? What if the climax for another character is them telling a very personal story about their life, or bringing the PC to a very personal place, and maybe the sex came before that instance or maybe not even at all?

#19991404 Is the Dragon Age LORE becoming more and more high fantasy?

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 05 janvier 2016 - 12:11 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

There are just too many revelations that involve magic. I miss the politics. I feel as though if Dragon Age: Origins was a reflection of the prevalence of gods and magic beings and ancients what nots in DA:I, Loghain would have betrayed Cailin because he was possessed by some demon and/or believes it will lead him to tHE ANCIENT LAND OF THE ASDFGHJKL;'s WHO INVENTED THE TREES THAT SPAWN THEDAS.

I would like a mix between the conflicts of the oblivious real world and the world that the protag is trying to uncover.

#19216731 Which DA writing flubs bother you the most?

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 02 juin 2015 - 09:59 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I also really don't care for Patrick Weekes' obvious homages to Marvel stuff. He listens to Marvel movie soundtracks to get inspired for his writing and he writes characters with Marvel on his mind. It needs to stop because it isn't funny. It's just geeky and corny IMO

Whaaaaa? There's nothing wrong with being geeky. I mean, we do play a game where we battle an ancient, awakened evil on a floating castle while two dragons fight to th death above us. Our geek status is officially verified. Also, if he wrote Solas while listening to Marvel stuffs, then by all means, please keep doing so. I don't really see the influence, though. At least not enough to hinder my experience. I'm genuinely curious of these "obvious homages"?

Storvacker: OMGGG I loooove your armor, where'd you get it?

Inquisitor: Oh, it was actually passed down from my Keeper!

Storvacker: OMG VINTAGE! I love it. (:

Inquisitor: Thanks! (: * walks away*

Storvacker to another bear: That is the ugliest ****** armor I've ever seen.

#18778122 What happend with Retro Futurism artistical style from original Mass Effect?

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 12 mars 2015 - 05:37 dans General Discussion

If anything, it just doesn't look like the typical armor that is in ME. There's a lot going on with it, much like the halo armor posted above.

I also think the "retro-futurism" feel to ME is difficult to be apparent if regulated to just images. It's everything- the atmosphere, the music, the art design, the corny dialogue and enemies. It didn't exactly take itself too seriously like the games after it. So yeah, I feel ya FW.

#18758504 A message to Bioware

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 09 mars 2015 - 08:10 dans General Discussion

So "the message to Bioware" is - make a good game?

Well ok.

Many threads suggesting and offering opinions for the game can essientally be boiled down to "make a good game". OP said a lot of different things. Or did you miss that?

Well ok.

#18757308 I just invested 115 hours in the game, and THAT was the ending?

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 09 mars 2015 - 01:50 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I see people just want an insane sensationalist ending as opposed to one that remains true to the story.
That's great, but the entire flow of the game was based on you stripping Corypheus of his power.

Reamining true to the story doesn't automatically make it good though. Essientally many, if not all RPG's, use the common trope of doing away with the antagonist's goonies with the protagonist also gaining power. Even then, they are still a formidable force by the end. Cory? Played off as if his tantrum interrupted the inquisitors lunch date. It's weak, unfulfilling, and forgettable.

The real climax happened at the Temple. The rest of the game was you cleaning house. He was done.

What climax? Me running around in the woods killing a couple enemies while my army is no where to be seen? I fail to see that as climatic. It's just another HLtA.

#18731986 I really hope bioware moves away from this single player MMO stuff... dragon...

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 05 mars 2015 - 06:53 dans Feedback & Suggestions

The world feels empty. That's the only way I can put it. I can't name any of the NPC's in any area because they either didn't have a specified name, or their quest didn't engage me beyond, "go here, collect/fight this."

I'd rather have smaller, but populated areas than the world we have now.

There are a couple quests that were done really well, but even then they could have been improved upon by adding more explanations to why we're fighting them in an engaging manner. (Read as: not through the quest description)

- Mayor In Crestwood: That mission was handled very well, but I'd have liked an investigation segment in town that culminates with a confrontation of some sort. Kind of like you do research into what happened to old crestwood by interviewing people, who are more or less receptive the more you lean on/are nice to them. Which kind of technique is more effective on what town people by getting to know the town. The better you are with you investigation, the more information you get to not only arrest the mayor, but maybe find a hidden cache or something. Rewarding the player for learning about your world is how you immerse people. And don't do it through collectibles, because this isn't banjo.

-The Elven Girl in crestwood. Fantastic consequence later on for a initially underwhelming encounter. Still could have been better by giving the girl a family or some kind of background. Why should I care about some girl who very eagerly made her own  decision to join the wardens? Give me some responsibility.

-Sullidin Keep: Ishmael was great but he could have been better. No one is going to make the deal with a demon unless they are rewarded. Give me a reward for letting Ishmael continue doing whatever he is with the red lyrium. Right now this is a facade of a choice, there is only one real choice.

In all your areas that you spent all this time on, I really didn't care about because they didn't do anything to make me care. As far as I'm concerned, they were crappy intermissions between the story missions that you could fill with chest rng and spammy combat.

Bioware needs to hire you.

#18731930 SO, finally time to give my 'pinion, hope you're ready

Posté par Uhh.. Jonah sur 05 mars 2015 - 06:42 dans Feedback & Suggestions

@OP I completely disagree with you BUT I really don't like the way you make fun of people (including yourself it seems) that post their opinion here as if it was something important. IT IS. There will always be people who share your opinion and it is important for people to know they have support. Seriously. So as much as I hate the game and you seem to not hate, I ask you to always voice your opinion, post. Even if 99% of the post was heard before (ehich as I said it is good to know people who agree with you) the 1% new is also a contribution for the community to discuss. Even with nothing is new the combination of likes and dislikes can be unique so, again, post.

Um, what?

Anyway, marvelous post OP. Took the words out of my mouth.

Don't know how to feel about this.

On one hand, Dragon Age is now free of him. On the other, one of the new projects now has him.

I'd love to hear your reasoning behind this.
