#20074799 Do they even explain why Anderson isn't on the council anymore?

Posté par AVPen sur 10 février 2016 - 06:42 dans General Discussion

I'm pretty sure you're confusing the books. ME: Revelation does that. You know, back when BioWare actually respected player agency.

ME: Revelation took place 20 years before the events of Mass Effect (before either Anderson or Udina could've been the Human Councilor), and as I stated, ME: Retribution kept the identity of the Human Councilor somewhat vague to the reader.

#20042137 Do they even explain why Anderson isn't on the council anymore?

Posté par AVPen sur 26 janvier 2016 - 03:08 dans General Discussion

The book series actually never acknowledges that Anderson could have been made Councilor. Udina is always the Councilor in the book canon.

It was one of those things fans complained about before the ME3 ending fiasco.

Incorrect - "ME: Retribution" never specified who the Human Councilor was in its story, just that both Anderson and Udina were involved together working for the Alliance/humanity on the Council.

#19980777 Bonus Power Packs (DLC-mod, gives Shepard new BPs based on MP powers)

Posté par AVPen sur 31 décembre 2015 - 04:29 dans Fan Creations

I haven't tried Arc nades yet, so I can't really comment on that.

But have you installed the Galaxy Map mod? There was some bug that caused exactly that behaviour to certain powers. AFAIK it was fixed in 0.53, so you may want to update to that version if you still have 0.52.

Yeah, there was a texture bug with MapMod that affected the graphics for tech powers with an electric effect such as Overload, Arc Grenades, etc.

#19671789 OK Bioware... how do I catch the friggin' harlequin?

Posté par AVPen sur 10 septembre 2015 - 03:36 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I knew about the dog bones for constitution and the picture straightening for strength (and there was a +6 cunning boost that came from somewhere and I still have no idea how that happened), but this is news to me. Maybe all the stats have minigames, and when you get all 10 points, you get a prize. I found all 10 dog bones, so I got the wasp's nest weapon, but I didn't find all the pictures, nor did I even find out what I did to gain the cunning bonus.

You get the Encore staff for the Cunning puzzle (its a treasure hunt for halls statues)

EDIT: OK, apparently you also get 6 Cunning for placing a top hat on a skeleton in the starting area of the Crossroads, lol.

#19671551 New Armor in Trespasser.

Posté par AVPen sur 10 septembre 2015 - 02:35 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

There's another weapon schamatic (IIRC "Brand") for catching the harlequin four or five times. I think it's a 1hs but for some reason is in my Staff tab.

I'm absolutely positive that this is suppose to be a weapon for a Knight Enchanter (since its under a staff category, causes elemental damage like a staff, and functions exactly like KE's spirit blade) but for some reason the game is bugging the weapon as a Warrior's sword.

#19671166 OK Bioware... how do I catch the friggin' harlequin?

Posté par AVPen sur 10 septembre 2015 - 12:56 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

OK... now I'm confused - the schematic is listed under Staff so I assumed that it was a KE sword (as it should be) BUTTT the damn thing gets put under the One-Handed Sword category when its crafted and its for Warriors Only.... what the crap?

EDIT: OK, I'm convinced the damn thing is bugged and that it should really be a KN weapon, but the game is accidently setting it for Warrior Only.

#19671115 OK Bioware... how do I catch the friggin' harlequin?

Posté par AVPen sur 10 septembre 2015 - 12:46 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Well, it took a long while and a bunch of trial and error, but I finally caught all 5 of them - super nice thing is that the schematic you get is for Brand, an Knight Enchanter's sword hilt which serves as a staff but acts like sword when used in combat (so now KN gets its own special weapon schematic).

#19670435 OK Bioware... how do I catch the friggin' harlequin?

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 10:24 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

In the Winter Palace in Trespasser, there's this random harlequin that disappears into smoke and reappears somewhere else if you get too close to it. I'm assuming that you have sneak up behind it and interact with it in order to get something (it takes longer for it to disappear if it does see you and the Inquisitor says something is nearby when you are close to it), but for the love of all things holy, I just can't catch the damn thing - I've literally wasted an hour trying to catch it but to no avail. -_-

#19669527 Do Jaws of Hakkon/Descent choices matter in Trespasser?

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 07:49 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

If you played through the Descent DLC then the Inquisitor knows what the Titans are, which allows him/her to recognize that it's the Titans that the Evanuris are hunting for lyrium in one of the elven murals near a Dream Wolf puzzle (I posted a recent thread about this).

#19669199 Trespasser Confirmed: "Pillars of the Earth" ARE the Titans

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 06:49 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

In the Trespasser DLC, if you use the Inquisitor's new Anchor Discharge ability (with Anchor Blast) to destroy the gaatlok bombs in front of a collapsed entrance in the Deep Roads, you can clear the debris and find an Eluvian, which takes you to another Dread Wolf puzzle. However, it is what's behind the puzzle that's the most interesting - a mural, displaying the death of a Titan:

titans02_zpsn4fb7zwm.jpg

With veilfire, you can see a veilfire rune on the mural which contains the following codex entry:

In the light of the veilfire, the runes seems to shift, coiling and uncoiling like snakes. A thunderous voice shatters the stillness, shouting:

"Hail Mythal, adjudicator and savior! She has struck down the Pillars of the Earth and rendered their Demesne unto the People! Praise her name forever!"

For a moment, the scent of blood fills the air, and there is a vivid image of green vines growing and enveloping a sphere of fire.

The vision grows dark. An aeon seems to pass. Then the runes crackle, as if filled with an angry energy.

A new vision appears: Elves collapsing caverns, sealing the Deep Roads with stone and magic.

Terror, heart-pounding, ice-cold, as the last of the spells is cast.

A voice whispers:

"What the Evanuris in their greed could unleash would end us all. Let this place be forgotten. Let no one wake its anger. The people must rise before their false gods destroy them all."

After reading the rune, the Inquisitor says the following sentence:

"The runes say the Evanuris fought the Titans. They mined their bodies for lyrium and... something else. It's not clear."

(I'm assuming that my Inquisitor used the word "Titans" because she completed the Descent DLC and knows what they are - he/she may have a different line if they never play through the Descent DLC)

#19668821 Getting to the "Secret Treasure Room" area in the Hidden Armory

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 05:47 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Ok, so you can do the same thing in the Deep Roads with that one collapsed entrance (early in the Deep Roads) surrounded by gaatlok bombs as well - use the Anchor Discharge (with Anchor Blast, I'm assuming) to destroy the bombs and open up the entrance.

Doing so leads you to a second Eluvian with another Dread Wolf puzzle (which gives a new staff, "Heart of Pride") and.... a veilfire rune, which proceeds to confirm that the "Pillars of the Earth" ARE indeed the Titans and that the Ancient Elves (the Evanuris, specifically) DID in fact hunt down and kill all the Titans for their lyrium blood and "something else" inside their bodies (the codex refers to this as "Demense").

(and the Inquisitor did use the word "titans" in her description of the rune, probably because my Inquisitor played through the Descent DLC).

#19668717 Getting to the "Secret Treasure Room" area in the Hidden Armory

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 05:29 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I must be doing something wrong, because I can't get them to blow up.

Do you have the Anchor Blast upgrade for Anchor Charge? (the one that damages enemies)

#19668408 Getting to the "Secret Treasure Room" area in the Hidden Armory

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 04:38 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

This caught my eye while exploring - in the Hidden Armory area of the Forgotten Sanctuary, you'll walk by this gated room with a TON of glowing gold loot and a floating gold chalice:

treasure01_zpsarni8cbx.jpg

After a bit of searching, I finally figured out how to get in there - outside behind the Forgotten Sanctuary, near the shoreline, there's a collapsed cave with several gaatlok bombs:

treasure02_zpshfjczagr.jpg

Use the Inquisitor's Anchor Discharge ability to destroy the bombs and that'll clear open the cave (fire spells do not work, I tried). Go down the tunnel and you'll now be in treasure room - in total, you'll gain 200,000 gold along with 7 or 8 "high worth" items to sell.

EDIT: And the damn site posted this before I could finish writing it up  <_< Don't worry, I will be posting pics of where to go.

2nd EDIT: Pics are now up.

#19665911 So... can we move pass the purple fire or not?

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 05:52 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

This was totally bugging the hell out of me throughout the entire DLC, those purple "Fen'Harel" flames blocking us from those sweet treasure chests. Is there any way to move pass them without dying? (cause I sure as hell haven't figured it out yet...)

#19665341 New Armor in Trespasser.

Posté par AVPen sur 09 septembre 2015 - 03:21 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

You can find a store in the Crossroads that sells a shield called "The Best Defense", in addition being able to buy it's schematic (it's Tier 3, so not as good as the shields from Jaws of Hakkon or Descent, but still kinda cool looking).

You can also obtain a schematic for a new Tier 3 staff called "Encore" (looked pretty decent, plus it had slots to add a grip and blade which is always nice).

#19651018 [GUIDE] Certain abilities and passives have been altered by patch 1.10

Posté par AVPen sur 06 septembre 2015 - 03:15 dans Combat, Strategy, and Gameplay

Saw an interesting discussion and screenshots of the description of MoD here (thanks YourFunnyUncle, Melbella):

http://forum.bioware...7#entry19649990

If the new description is to be believed, it's best not to buy the upgrade for the skill! If you don't upgrade, you can still manually trigger for 100% stored damage (instead of 50%).

That's assuming the stated upgrade of only +4 seconds on top of 12 is correct, which seems unlikely. Unless you routinely back-load your damage, this seems more like a downgrade than upgrade.

*Snip

I can confirm all of that after having played around with the new patch update all day yesterday and today with my assassin rogue - you generally can achieve.more damage without the Lasting Mark upgrade and just manually detonating the Mark yourself.

However, there's another issue with the new Lasting Mark upgrade..... it doesn't freaking work at all  <_< with Lasting Mark upgraded, Mark of Death still detonates itself after only 8 seconds, not the 12 seconds that it's suppose to be.

#19650110 Locations for new "Untold Relics of Thedas" accessories

And We have that "Special Deliveries" Chest ..Just sitting around doing nothing ...but that's none of my business.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention this earlier, but anyone notice now that those red lyrium weapons (a sword, dagger, and staff) that previously required some pre-order bonus or something are now available in the special deliveries chest after Patch 10?
