When the other Mass Effect forums send their posters, they're not sending their best.  They're not sending you.  They're not sending you.  They're sending people that have lots of problems, and they're bringing those problems with us.  They're bringing "Tali's sweat" threads.  They're bringing vorcha romance demands.  They're bringing people who cry at the first mention of multiplayer.  And some, I assume, are discussing combat mechanics, plot and pacing.

DR was banned?

Wow, I expect a certain level of bullsh*t from the mods, but that really takes the cake.  I basically laze around, sh*tpost, pick on ME:A posters and whine about terrible pugs - if anything, I likely deserve more warning points and temp bans than I already have.  DR was nothing but helpful and friendly, and put a huge amount of time into collecting resources for forum members - she's the last person you should be banning, let alone banning before myself.

I didn't think my opinion of the mods could drop any lower, but, well, here we are.

Following on from my previous post I'd just like to add that the timing of this announcement was a nice touch.

You know, if Bioware had come out and said they were shutting down the forums because of the financial cost, or the cost in time/interaction with fans and managing a community, I could accept that.  I don't think they'd be great reasons for doing so, but at least they'd make sense.

The reasoning presented here though is risible, to the point of insulting the intelligence of the people reading it.  That's what really galls me, beyond the loss of the forums itself.  It's that we were not even worth giving a proper explanation too, and trying to put a positive spin on the whole thing.

This is probably the worst piece of creative writing I've seen from Bioware since the "Aerie's baby" monstrosity in Baldur's Gate: Throne of Bhaal, and that's only just barely.

So, does this mean I have to cash in all my warning points before August 26th?  Or will they still be redeemable up until the forum archive is purged?

High: had an awesome all biotic game with several very good players yesterday.  Turns out a Fury, Huntress, Justiciar and Valkyrie can overcome even Geth' bullsh*t.  Hell, I was playing the Fury offhost and having a blast, and normally that combination makes me want to kill myself.

Low: I meet a non-charging, non melee, Carnage spamming Krogan vanguard.  A sad day...

Probably the Valiant.

It's the first commendation pack weapon I unlocked, and the first sniper rifle I actually got pretty good at.  When I started playing Gold, the SI and Valiant III were my main, go-to options.

Sure, it's not the most powerful or unique gun in the game.  But it's a solid gun that I have a bit of nostalgia for, so I think that has to be my choice.

Every time you show genuine interest or enthusiasm on BSN, you lose Hipster Points.

And as everyone knows. when your HP reaches zero, you die.

I tried going back to Skyrim recently and found it hellishly boring compared to ME3MP. I ran right up to a bear and stabbed it repeatedly with a dagger until it died. So unsatisfying.

If you're on PC, install the "Requiem" mod.

If you can even make it through the opening tutorial without dying, you're doing amazingly well (I got gibbed by the dragon before I made it into the keep).  You run up to a bear with a dagger (without poison), it will perma-ragdoll you, assuming you survive the first blow.  And if you do survive that blow, you're wearing heavy armour.  Only the damage will mean all your stamina is gone.  Which on top of the heavy armour penalty means you won't be able to run away, if you even manage to get up.  Meaning the bear will eat you regardless.

And don't even get me started on sabre-cats.  Or giant slaughterfish.  Or invisible entities.  Or the goddamn Soul Cairn.  I still have PTSD from attempting the last one at too low a level.  I thought Dawnbreaker and illusion meant I was a badass.  I was wrong.  So very wrong.

Wouldn't you wanna swap those?  I figure Vanguards get a lot of face-cam time with BC...perfect for shottyguns.  Or are you trying to keep things light & quick for your cooldowns?

I often have them in reverse myself.  Firstly for the cooldown, because, y'know, squishy Drell.  Also, with the Talon you can take the power mod to make his grenades hit harder.  That's not so much of an issue for the Adept, who can output more damage with biotic explosions and can suffer a somewhat lower cooldown.

The Wraith also allows for very easy reload cancelling with Reave, so it synergises really well with the DA.

It the Geth Scanner really that useful on Silver? I never bother with it.

I don't know, would being able to see exactly where the enemies are through walls and cover confer some kind of advantage on the player?

Had three very good games with Ashevajak today, and then a friend request.

Yeah, they were fun, nice and smooth.  Was getting on 4am here though, so unfortunately I had to call it quits.  Also apologies for stealing everyone's kills in the Glacier game - I'd just had a very disappointing match with a scrub who was using the hide spot on Hydra all game, so I felt I needed to kill absolutely everything.

Ashevajak joined me and one of my girlfriends (well, not really - more female online-gaming-friend so to speak  ) for a couple of great gold games last evening!

So, this is embarrassing.  I definitely recognise your username, but I can't remember the games we played (I know it wasn't the terrible one with the scrub on Hydra).  I was playing a lot last night though, so it's remembering the specific matches that's the issues.  But if we had a good series of games, then that's all that matters.  I'll shoot you an FR once I'm back on my desktop.

No one has truly played this game to the full until they can proudly say they've been sync killed by all the bosses:

Banshee, Brute, Phantom, Atlas, Praetorian, and Scion

The Reegar does tend to be one of my least used shotguns. 

It's not that I don't like it - I enjoy killing enemies with an electric blast that dissolves them - but it does, as the videos show, tend to make a mockery of pretty much everything in the game, especially on the classes you'd want to use it on to make up for its limited range (ie; vanguards and infiltrators).
