#19720463 Desire Demons in DA4

Posté par XMissWooX sur 20 septembre 2015 - 03:03 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

You'd think Desire Demons would materialise with both sets of genitalia, just to cover all their bases. That way they could use their breasts to get straight men and gay ladies all excited, and their penis to get... meh.

#19711536 Voice Actors Are Being Casted

Posté par XMissWooX sur 18 septembre 2015 - 01:29 dans General Discussion

I'd prefer a brand new cast of voice actors. Would really drive home that we're in a new location and meeting new people.
I suppose if a VA can drastically alter their voice so as to be unrecognisable, I wouldn't have a problem with them returning.

#19711417 New races is what im excited for

Posté par XMissWooX sur 18 septembre 2015 - 12:41 dans General Discussion

I guess it's easy to fall into the trap of making aliens follow the basic 'one head, torso, two arms and legs' blueprint that we saw a lot of in the ME trilogy, but I would like to see something a little more daring. The Elcor and Hanar were good examples of sapient species that didn't look humanoid.

#19711308 I just read this on Steam

Posté par XMissWooX sur 18 septembre 2015 - 11:58 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

I didn't think it was handled too badly.
As I see it, a person need only bring up their sexuality in a sexual context. None of the companions/advisors mentioned it unless you flirted with them, with the exception of Dorian who brings it up in the context of his father's disapproval.
Seemed subtle and natural to me.

#19694781 Dragon Age Elvhen Lore: What the Hell?!?! (POST TRESPASSER/SPOILERS)

Posté par XMissWooX sur 14 septembre 2015 - 07:35 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

So, I'm a little confused as to what happened with the breach in Redcliffe, because when I played a while back I made note of this conversation:
Inquisitor: "The breach! It's..."
Dorian: "Everywhere"
Solas: "The veil is shattered. There is no boundary now between the world and the fade."

Does this not suggest that Corypheus actually accomplished what Solas had been working towards?

Also, why did Solas get captured and fatally wounded in Redcliffe? Was he unable to withstand Corypheus? Did he not have a backup plan in the event that the Inquisitor failed? Could he not escape his cell or protect himself from the red lyrium?

#19681139 Dragon Age Elvhen Lore: What the Hell?!?! (POST TRESPASSER/SPOILERS)

Posté par XMissWooX sur 11 septembre 2015 - 09:07 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

the Magisters used elven slaves because blood has power regardless of race and slaves are cheap, they also used tons of lyrium

I was referring mostly the codex entry for the Claws of Dumat:
"Master - now Corypheus - told me that my people, the elves of old, were tied to the Fade, and that in order to carry out the will of Dumat, he would need to call upon the magic that lives in our blood."
It just seems like Elven blood was chosen for a specific reason.

Solas seems very against the use of blood magic as is though, so I doubt that'd be his approach, though without his orb no clue what he plans to do to break down the Veil.

Whenever I've breached the topic of blood magic with Solas, he's seemed rather indifferent to it. He says he regards it as a tool, just like any other magic. Given that he's already prepared to destroy Thedas to rebirth his people, using blood magic and sacrifice as means of fuelling his plan is just another step on the path to insanity.

I guess I'm really just asking myself why Solas has thousands of Elves flocking to his side if he doesn't see them as worth saving.

#19680774 Dragon Age Elvhen Lore: What the Hell?!?! (POST TRESPASSER/SPOILERS)

Posté par XMissWooX sur 11 septembre 2015 - 08:10 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Probably horribly wrong as I'm no expert on lore, but I thought I'd throw it out there...

I was replaying the Fade section of DAI earlier and it seemed to say that Corypheus and the magisters physically entered the Fade via mass sacrifice of Elves, since apparently Elves are linked to the fade and so their blood holds power.

Given that 1) Solas is amassing a large force of Elves from all over Thedas and 2) he doesn't seem to consider modern Elves to be among 'his people', do you think it's possible that he might try to use a similar method to tear down the Veil?

#19678642 how i feel after my Inquisitor ...

Posté par XMissWooX sur 11 septembre 2015 - 12:20 dans General Discussion (Spoilers)

Some of us prefer to keep our organic limbs, unless there is no other choice but to die, thank you.

Which was the case here. You either remove your hand or the mark kills you.

I can understand that people are unhappy about that choice being made for them, but then shouldn't they be annoyed that they couldn't kill their Inqusitor, rather than being annoyed about them losing their arm?

#19668414 Who here hates Teagan now? (Trespasser Spoilers)

I keep wishing for my Inquisitor to hit up the HOF and be all "hey Queenie could you get your uncle-in-law to stop, thnx". <_<

#19667128 Trespasser needs a patch for crashes

Posté par XMissWooX sur 09 septembre 2015 - 12:05 dans General Discussion (NO Spoilers)

I've only had one experience of an infinite loading screen.
Oddly enough, when I reloaded the game I noticed that it had made two autosaves from the other side of the Eluvian. I loaded them and they worked just fine.

Posté par XMissWooX sur 09 septembre 2015 - 12:32 dans General Discussion (NO Spoilers)

Yup, definitely a problem.

I entered the Inverted Island, fell off the edge whilst there, respawned at Scholars Retreat and now can't get back through the Eluvian to the Inverted Island, which I need to do to complete the "discover where the Viddasala went" objective.

Gonna have to reload and do that entire section all over again... :(

When friends and co-workers asks where you were this weekend and you don't really have an answer except Thedas.

Ahh yes...

Co-worker: "So, what did you get up to at the weekend?"
Me: *flashes back to epic dragon battle*
Me: "...Oh, nothing much..."

#19418218 Would anybody mind or be in favor of a protagonist with an accent?

Posté par XMissWooX sur 13 juillet 2015 - 07:13 dans General Discussion

A good ole' Suffolk accent!
So instead of "I should go", we'd get "O'right boi, Oi'll see yer 'amara".
:P

But in all seriousness, there's lots of lovely accents out there other than US or English which would be nice to hear. Though I can't imagine playing Renegade with an Aussie accent: "G'day mate! I'm afraid i'm gunna have to rip yer head off. No hard feelings, right?"

#19417904 Please Make 'Dragon Prop Set' Available For Those Who Don't Do MP

Posté par XMissWooX sur 13 juillet 2015 - 05:58 dans Feedback & Suggestions

I agree, an alternative way to acquire these in the SP campaign would be appreciated.

I played MP a few times and, whilst I did enjoy it, it's not for everyone.

#19329449 Aren´t we technically the bad guys?

Posté par XMissWooX sur 23 juin 2015 - 07:25 dans General Discussion

It also occurs to me that not all planets are fit for habitation by all species. Perhaps an agreement could be reached in which humans are allowed to colonise certain planets which have a habitable atmosphere for them, but not for the other species.
Assuming we even colonise at all. Humans might just assimilate into the existing government/culture and be considered immigrants.

#19329204 Aren´t we technically the bad guys?

Posté par XMissWooX sur 23 juin 2015 - 06:52 dans General Discussion

In the absence of a relevant legal framework, whether you ever owned that house you built is a matter worthy of debate.
And the possibility further exists that there was a relevant legal framework of which you were unaware. If the crown owned the land initially, it was never yours.

Well in the example nobody owned the land. It was just a piece of land that nobody knew existed until you found it and had already started building. I know that example doesn't really make sense in the modern world where most of the Earth is mapped out and assigned to different authorities, but it was certainly plausible in historical times.

I suppose a more relevant example would be if, in 100 years time, we finally put humans on Pluto, only to discover that another species from a different solar system had already landed on and colonised Pluto thousands of years ago. Could we really tell them to leave because we perceive Pluto to be in 'our space'?

#19328520 A Request for Demisexuality in Bioware Games

Posté par XMissWooX sur 23 juin 2015 - 04:51 dans Feedback & Suggestions

If bioware includes demisexuals, then I want some sapiosexuals who only experience sexual attraction towards very smart people...

You jest, but I believe there were a number of people who were really drawn towards Mordin in Mass Effect due to his intellect.
Personally, I think a super-Intelligent LI would be pretty cool. I guess Solas sort of counts, though he wasn't much like Mordin.

#19327920 Aren´t we technically the bad guys?

Posté par XMissWooX sur 23 juin 2015 - 02:44 dans General Discussion

Expanding that to planets; we have no idea how ownership works for the cultures of Andromeda or how the economy works. Just because the planet appears uninhabited and "undiscovered", it could well be that the locals own the cluster that planet is in.

Look, I don't know how or if any of this is going to apply in the game. It is very much a wait and see. But I'm a big believer that when I'm in someone else's house, I ask permission before reaching in their fridge.

When I'm in someone else's galaxy, I'm going to ask permission before settling one of their planets. Their house, their rules.

I don't dispute this - I don't believe that we should just start colonising any planet we want without any care for the native species who live in the area.

But nor do I believe we should have to turn over any colonies we did create to another species, conceding all of our hard work and resources, just because said species is native to the galaxy and we're not. Especially when they weren't even aware of the existence of the planet in question until we had already colonised it.

I suppose you could compare this to Skyhold in DAI. It doesn't technically have an owner, but since no one else was using it, and the Inquisition are the ones who put in the hard work and money to fix it and clean it up, I consider them to be the de facto owners.
