Yeah, that usually happens in your mid-twenties. Either a mediocre unsatisfying job with a low 'til "I get by" wage, or... come again, what's the other option?

I have no idea what has been discussed here as of late, besides Puddi, but seeing Sim's Avatar, I have to mention that one punch man is the manga idea I've been waiting for and feeling for.
Just started reading it. It, like, nails something, gets a beat down, whatelse, of some nowadays mindset. Whatelse.

Uuh, reading you all discuss HxH I remembered my conflicted feelings towards the new anime. The '99 one I loved so the more colorful new one needed getting used to. I got to like the adventurous vibe though. Until they started to mess everything up before the Yorknew arc. Or even when introducing Killua's family. Anyway, one of these days I should definitely take it up again.
The '99 version is still a fave even though it ended before Greed Island and the Ant arc.

I myself am at the end of my South Korean trip. Was here for a month. Had real fun. Finished a few manhwa and a couple of hundred chapters of One Piece in the process. The manga I love now, though I still dislike the anime.
Even went to an One Piece exhibition here. Lots of sketches, even more of statues, figurines and an ace memorial to make pictures with. My girlfriend really liked posing as chopper. Made me a happy sir.
Sad the manhwakas (is that a word??) of the Breaker are taking a break with it in favor of a boring sideproject. And sad I'm still not able to read manhwa in Korean. A couple of more years and I'm getting there.
How are you guys? Glad to see Sim and the rest of you again.

Wow. This thread's sped up compared to last I was here. Can't keep up with all you young'uns.
And hi nihilist cat with new nickname (both of which I forget in seconds). Glad to see you. ![]()
Have been doing actual work. That doesn't earn me real pay.
The regular life.
Good chance to be away from uni life though. Being eternally damned to studies isn't my thing, so the year off doing stuff isn't as painful as it could be.
And, as said, one of the painful aspects is that practically no anime for me. Ah well. At least I have tickets to a cool Asian country.

The Breaker is on my list.
Glad to see Puddi. Catch - are you Reezy or am I fumbling in conjectures?
As to Steins;Gate - I love me some mystery hunt myself, but the start didn't click with me nontheless. Even that I like a slow and weird artsy pacing doesn't help here.
But as to commend the show's quality - nonsense like a few logical flips and the eating vegetables thing didn't matter at all. It was all about some desperation and Okabe's eventually understandable madness. I like some hectic psychotic vibes in my anime. In contrast to warm traits, sharply bringing out some "human" longing.
Also, if you watch HxH, you should give the original (1999) series a go. A masterful show in my opinion, with a much different, more "gritty" feel to it.

Should have known from the kamen rider reference in the name. Oh hi Geth!
Have been ok. Not so good on anime - haven't had the time really. A lame excuse, but still.
Have made snailpace progress in the manga and anime I last discussed here. Have really experienced new depths of manga, but never finished any.
Did see one episode of an old anime of a type I immediately felt was missing from my life for a long time. Infinite Ryvius. Good one for some good old 90's and early 00's anime grand somewhat mindfuck galore.
As to catching up on stuff I'd like to - can't really do that in the summer, as I'll use my vacation for visiting South Korea. Maybe some One Piece on the road... Or maybe better - some manhwa.

The Lobby (Off Topic)
The thing about the majority of aot characters, and most of Eren is that they're inexplicably emotionally stupid and hysterical. Can you really blame him though? Think about it. He was always an outcast because he wanted to live outside the walls with no titans, this is taboo, he saw everything he loved destroyed right in front of his eyes(seeing your mother get eaten will mess with your mind) and see's alot of friends die in Trost and giant forest. He has changed alot in the manga though but at first. Yes he was whiny and a ******, but he has very good reasons for this.
Do note that some of us consider Armin to be the true main character because ironically he gets the most page/screen time and has had the most and best dev, not to mention he was the one who figured out who each titan shifter was with cleaver deduction and intuition, he also planned or proposed many operations that where successful in the long run.
In short. Armin is a badass.
What's worse, this has been served as normal and heroic even. There's actually nothing normal about being emotionally a 2-year old nerve wreck. Though the pseudo middleages world assures this as normal behavior, with the black and white kind of equally illrational sides painting their identity in screaming, gluttony or a nervewreck socalled military reality. In the middle ages and in tragedy, it is mostly the exact opposite, people become more cold, maybe apathetic. The more there's tragedy, the less of it is actually felt as such. People adapt. Aot characters dont. They're a modern myth that people glued to their computers and commodities think of hardship.
Given, I liked the second half of the show. A bit more intellectually believable and less onesided characters there. If only a few.

@Darth
Reused environments, less fidelity on character models, less hours of gameplay, less story (much less script gone into it), and many numbers of fans of Origins feeling it was a letdown. Yes, out of subjective feelings you can quantitively derive an objective value. Statistics of preferences is all about this.
@Kaiser
My purpose hasn't been to "convince" others of the "bad status" of the game. Yet you do need to understand its flaws. Including the one of dissonance from elements of the series as such, derived from fan feedback *and* any comprehensive descriptions of it. So it doesn't matter that your personal preference remains that it's a good game - objectively speaking there are many traits that make it not well done at least, and according to my interpretation, badly done.

Ahh...haste and lazyness... mortal enemies of clarity.
Indeed I should have formulated the sentence differently. Context and tone matter the most.
But it is true that I'm getting tired of an all-little-girl cast. There is no denying anime has an overabdundance of young characters (mostly female) and that those same characters are over-sexualized or put in rather inappropriate contexts with alarming frequency.
When can we hope for you changing your avatar? Not particularly of high aesthetics. (frankly, it bothers me to a degree that I tend to avoid parts of the page... parts where you're on)

You can't say the game is objectively bad because for something to be 'objectively bad' it would need to be actually and quite literally unplayable. You can play it. You can beat it. It fulfilled its intended purpose as a product. You may not have liked it (subjective), but objectively the game functioned and functioned to a fair degree. The bugs were minimal compared to other games I've played and some of those were quite objectively bad as I was prevented from actually being able to play the game.
You need to understand what objectivity means. It means mostly that there's basis for it in raw numbers and more importantly, to more than one person. Seeing a problem objectively is argumenting against it with values that also are such or at least minimally understood for others. Even if for two people (tho in that case the degree of objectivity seems more frail). Dragon Age wasn't well done. Not objectively horrid, yet it got things wrong (objectively). It was quite badly made.
Objectivity doesn't imply unplayability. A bad game doesn't equal a broken game. Broken games are more easily established bad though.

Lack of a beard wasn't a criticism. The praise for it and for the character is left obscure to me though.
And go into semantics we must.
I said my personal opinion is that the game is objectively a bad one (at least as a decision for Bioware and fans of a type, yet also full of way significant flaws from any perspective really). I didn't objectively establish tho, as my arguments or vitriol or whathaveyounot are from me personally and will obviously either sound convincing or not, and both.

A critic says bad things! I can't have fun with the game anymore! Woe is me!
Didn't say you couldn't have fun with it. Just that Yahtzee was awesome and made good points served in a most rationally convincing way.
Still, I hold to my personal view that the game is objectively a travesty and a insult to the series from its basics. Nevermind that some people like ass Hawke and a shaven dwarf and think faux-middle-age-like simpliciter drama around heretics, burnings, "terrorism" and whatnot is relevant. I don't blame for that. I blame Bioware for making even that obviously horrible, and putting it into a series where prior fans looked for a different game altogether (in many cases).
It's both a *completely* different game from the get-go basis of it, and a badly done one at that (though enjoyable for many who were allured by the "2" in the title - as if sequels would be better - it *is* usually vice versa, friends).
