While I was really hoping they would go the Dragon Age 2 route, as long as Cassandra is romancable by a Fem!Inquisitor, I'll be happy.
My fingers are sooooo crossed. That is the one piece of news I'm waiting for, I am sated about everything else.

BioWare Forum/BSN Help
I don't think the contrast is high enough between the text and the grey background. I personally think that the background needs to be a much darker grey, like the old BSN. The old forum had it right. My eyes are no longer straining from blinding white, but from trying to focus on the light text on a light background.

The Dark Star Lounge
Welcome to the Dark Star Lounge!
This group is different than your average character discussion. The original idea was to make this a collective creative board for Miranda. The different group threads representing different areas around The Dark Star Lounge, a relaxed night club located on the Zakera Ward of the Citadel. As I thought on it, I wanted this place to be more than just talking about Miranda and her story, which is certainly a large part, but also to be a place where her fans could get together and talk about anything. The areas include chatting up people at The Bar in General Discussion, to letting loose and allowing your creativity run wild at The Dance Floor, and maybe even checking up on the mysterious blonde woman in The VIP Lounge (Yvonne Strahovski news and discussion).
This group is a work in progress, so different areas will begin to open up as they become complete. Feel free to post any suggestions in the general discussion thread, or send me a PM so we can further flesh out the intro story to the new section. ![]()

The Dark Star Lounge
Your fingers slide around the rim of the cooled glass, bubbles arise evenly, popping as they reach the open air, disrupting the emerald liquid inside. Condensation was now accumulating on the crystal, racing in watery trails down the side of the glass. It leaves reflective rings on the surface of the bar as you bring the drink to your lips. Voices echo around you, indistinguishable over the loud music. Out of the corner of your eye you notice the doors of the lounge open, no doubt letting in more patrons to fill the already crowded space.
A dark haired woman ascends the steps onto the open floor of the lounge, her boots clicking upon the ground as she approaches the bar. Silently gesturing towards the bartender, she glances in your direction, her eyes gleaming as the neon shines off the reflective surface.
Hey Everyone, this is the General Discussion thread, also known as The Bar. So feel free to chat up the other patrons, order a drink, ask the bartender about local news, (talk about Miranda), the works. Have fun!

Get it right. If you romance [insert character] as a [insert gender], the only way you know [insert same character] is bisexual is metagaming.

I actually quite like that Bioware leave gender out of it for the most part, and that the conflicts arise from the relationship itself and do not generally differ between genders. You don't see that much.
But god, why is a gay character's story so often reduced to them being gay?

I'm going to ask again, please, everyone, when someone comes into this thread to debate the bi and/or playersexuality issue, could we all bring it back on topic? This was a thread created to talk about what kind of f/f romances players want. This thread *will* be locked if people indulge the rude, selfish people who ignore the intended topic to whine about a subject that has been beaten to death.
To come into this thread just to complain about the sexuality of DA characters is either deliberately trying to get the thread locked, in which case you're a jerk, or you genuinely don't care about the wishes of players who actually want their female player characters to have the ability to romance female non-player characters, in which case you're being selfish, rude, or at the very least, thoughtless.

a videogame is a videogame but in this dev tries to make another world and believably telling us a story about this world. Only because you don't know something it doesn't mean that it doesn't exist. For example until Merril talks to Hawke and explains that's due to the whole Eluvian thing that she started to use blood magic you didn't know why and how Merril learned it, but that doesn't mean that i she didn't tell you that it didn't happened. Character don't just appear. In their world they have lived a whole life before meeting your chara, you just don't know about that.
has ever any writer said this? A word form them would mark the end of this endless discussion, but otherwise you can't affirm this as it is the one and only truth.
I have never seen even a hint of homophobia in DA and it's most unlikely to be ever shown just to avoid the whole "Bioware is homophobic" thing.
People can't "happen to be homosexual" someone can have those preferences or not. The fact that those tendency are shown or not doesn't matter: their are there, just like...I dunno...the "red hair" genetic trait. Maybe it isn't shown, but it's there.
Example from DA2: Anders tells only to male Hawke that he was in love with Karl but that doesn't mean that if Hawke is female tha didn't happened. I had the feeling that he was in a relationship with Karl since I saw his reaction to Tranquil Karl. Maybe it's just that he doesn't feel like to share that thing.
Example from real life: I have a boyfriend and I'm a female. So you would say "she's straight" so...am I straight? Nope. I am bisexual but my preferences don't change because i bonded with a male and the fact that I didn't tell him that I'm bisexual it doesn't mean that I'm not, I just didn't tell him. (Oh yes, I'm soooo homophobic!)

Isabela wasn't bisexual?
Right. Some people are *sure* that the companions in DA II were bisexual. Some people are *sure* that they were playersexual. It's nice that you have a personal preference but your opinion is not fact and you shouldn't declare it to be.
I was not demanding anything of anyone. If you wish to be identified by your sexuality, then that is your perogative, you may believe however you choose, I'm not going to challenge you. It is in my opinion that identifyablility by sexuality should not be a thing in a video game, it's a personal preference. Referring back to the bolded portion of my post. There is a very important distinction between the two. A more direct example being "that gay character" vs "that character with the brown hair and blue eyes". One does not identify someone by being "that straight person", they are just a person. Would it not be the same for a person who is not straight? That they are not simply a person, they are a homosexual person? Do you understand my meaning?I consider my sexuality an identifying trait. It's fine if you don't feel the same about your sexuality, but perhaps you shouldn't demand that of others.

"Playersexual" has no sense: just because characters don't say that he/she is bisexual/homosexual/straight etc it doesn't means that he/she is player sexual
note: I'm not homophobic, I just think that a sexuality is part of a character, you can even make sexuality a trigger that drives the entire life of a chara.
