Found a Lavellan song if you refer her/him to the halla/hart:
Lyrics
Memory comes when memory's old
I am never the first to know
Following the stream up North
Where do people like us float
There is room in my lap
For bruises, asses, hand claps
I will never disappear
Forever, I'll be here
Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
I'm laying down, eating snow
My fur is hot, my tongue is cold
On a bed of spider web
I think of how to change myself
A lot of hope in a one man tent
There's no room for innocence
Take me home before the storm
Velvet mites will keep us warm
Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Felt a calm, old wisdom coming from the lyrics, and when I found out it is about a deer...well, I flipped. XD

Lol I know that's the, what do you call it, trope? Stereotype?
I don't tend to think it's usually the case though.
But keep living the dream!
My headcanon is Kaiden cries in the fetal position after sex.
Congratulations sir, you have made me laugh until I cried.

Hey, y'all! Long time no-see! I took a bit of a step back because I felt like I was being sad for too long, but I'll pop back in now and then.
BTW a buddy of mine may be joining the thread - she just finished the Solas'mance the other day...on a totally blind run other than knowing the rest of us are super-duper depressed.
Ohhhhh the pain. ![]()

Vector-mance! Ugh...I am so angry that the game is an MMO. I would replay that romance 1000x except that I would have slog through hundreds of hours to even deal with it. Vector is proto-Solas. That whole storyline - the agent one - was just fun.
I'm afraid to admit how many times I've watched his romance. XD

I'm disappointed Hawke wasn't very...sarcastic. I don't know if it was Jo or the lines. Probably both.
For a while I thought I accidentally picked Diplomatic. :\
I think this is probably what happened, she shows herself very capable with other lines so the direction was probably to have no inflection on the questions so the player can ask them in any order and they work for different origins and POVs.
BioWare did say they wanted to keep "neutral" dialogue options...well...neutral. But she did deliver when there was emotion involved, which I loved.

I don't want the inquisitor back. She's a doormat to me. I liked my kind diplomatic Hawke best. Much better voice acting too. I was almost shocked how much I prefer femHawke when I saw her again in DAI. Of course she doesn't look anything like she did in DA2, but just that voice... made me all smiles and nostalgic.
Bioware should stick to the formula of introducing a new protagonist each game. Makes sense for Dragon Age. Comes at the expense of character development. But I prefer consistency.
Quite frankly, I don't care about any of the DA protagonists much though. It's the companions that get me emotionally invested.
I can't got back to my Hawke after Inquisition. I love Alix's voice acting too much (and I think it's better). XD
I love the Warden and the Inquisitor more because I got to build up their personality and background more than Hawke's. Hawke felt like BioWare's character - which, you know, is fine. That story needed to be told to build up to other events. But I couldn't build on anything other than personality. I still love my Hawkes, but yeah. XD
But I do agree that a new protagonist is preferred since that is the formula they started with. I love my Lavellan so much, and I'll miss her more than all the others, but I look forward to the companions the most as well as the romances.
Haha you and every single person in every single Bioware sucks! thread.
I actually don't care what happens to my Warden at this point.

Ah! I'm the weirdo who prefers the first one. It had some of the best lines - "My uncle used to say that we like people for their qualities but we love them for their defects."
Oh, oh, and this one: "What makes a man a man? A friend of mine once wondered. Is it his origins? The way he comes to life? I don't think so. It's the choices he makes. Not how he starts things, but how he decides to end them."
And my favorite moment is when Hellboy talks to Liz, telling her that he loves her, that... That he wishes he could do something about THIS - and he just gestures to his face and you just feel his heartbreak at being different in a way no person could ever overlook. And yet, he still wants her. And if HE is enough, for her, can't that be enough? Forever? It was the best moment of vulnerability ever.
I do think the film could have been edited to be a bit more crisp in it's pacing, but I'm super nitpicky about staying succinct. As you can imagine the new Hobbit films are torture for me.
BUT from an art stand point - Hellboy taught me how important it is to switch color temperature. Seriously, go watch the film again. He always juxtaposes a warm scene with a cool one. Moving from hot yellows, golds, reds, and olives to cool midnight blues. It's a beautiful film just to watch for color progression and theory on its own. Whomever was in charge of the color scripting was a genius.
THAT LINE GIVES ME LIFE. I love it so much because it says EVERYTHING about love.
I love those movies. ![]()

Okay, so I'm really hoping we get to go with Solas or have him stay with us because...Solas I love you...but he's an idiot.
It's obvious: Solas is shite at planning things. We can't leave him alone for five minutes. I don't think he's planning on destroying the world but by the Creators if we don't get to him soon he might by accident! HE'LL PULL THE WRONG LEVER OR SOMETHING WE HAVE TO HELP HIM. D:

Just so you guys know, it hurts just as much the second time too...
Noooo, don't say that. I was thinking of pushing forward through the Arbor Wilds tonight.
Maybe not.
Maybe I'll just keep standing in this hut in the Hinterlands, trying to get Dorian and IB to talk to each other.
Although it seems the game has decided it doesn't want me to experience that either.
I've put it off for weeks, probably more like months... PAIN IN MY HEART!
I still can't do it. I've started avoiding that PT.
Solas gives me too many feels since I identify with him emotionally. I've considered just...not romancing him anymore, and even swearing off him completely because it hurts too much. And he is the first character to ever make me think about it.
But...*sighs* I'll wait until DLC. *waves team optimism flag*
That's him! Thank you! ![]()

Popular belief is that he's not expressive? He has one of the most mobile faces in the game! It's wonderful. And also possibly the reason I fell for him so quickly.
I mean, just look at this sh*t.
Spoiler
Just...wow. They finally got smiling right! Before, Bioware characters trying to smile usually looked kinda...off. This, though? Perfection.
That is one thing I do not miss about when I lived in Germany. I find California's weather much more agreeable.
On a completely unrelated note, I've been playing back some of the romance scenes between Solas and Lavellan and watching his expression as he speaks to her (especially his eyebrows, for reasons I will explain in a moment) and I just have to say... The cinematics are incredible. Analyzing his face when he talks to her... Well, I can tell you honestly, he is so into her, guys...
I was just watching the one where she says he's "being grim and fatalistic with hopes of getting her into bed..." And his response... Okay, so let me tell you why eyebrows are important. First of all, when we are planning on lying to someone, there are a certain number of things that we can and do control to make our lies match our expression. Even our eyes... But eyebrows... No one really thinks about them, and they often move on their own and give subtle hints that give you away. When Solas says "Getting you into bed is an enjoyable side benefit" his eyebrows wiggle up and down a few times... Very subtly... In the manner that suggests he has no control over it. Why that is important-- when someone does the subtle eyebrow wiggle, it means they are attracted to you. Which means what? Solas really wants to bang Lavellan. Like, he's not just saying that. Whoever did his animations was on top of their game. That is a detail many would miss and it would not have surprised me if they had left it out, but no. Particularly in the last few scenes before... That part we don't discuss... Solas is positively oozing love for Lavellan out of every fibre of his being. Down to the last detail. Which is why I want to pick up the banner for team optimism, despite my gut feeling that this cannot go well. You cannot love someone that much and then... Just stay away from them forever. I know... Because I've tried.
So team optimism, here is a song from my Lavellan to yours:
I know it's not over. Baby, I've worked it out for sure...
...it's gonna be better...
![]()
![]()
It's okay! Just read what you wrote before:
Team optimism is strong! Look at this idiot's smile
Spoiler
Like Elven_Glory said, the animations are AMAZING in this game. I just want to hug the person who animated Solas. Just Solas' smile...it's sooooooo beautiful. His eyes often narrow in contentment when he smiles, it's just...excuse me I'm blushing. XD
The saddest people smile the brightest.
I really hope things can work out somehow...even if it's a long-distance thing like Morrigan and her Warden, or Alistair and his Warden. Just...oh god I would name my first child Fen'harel for this to happen.
I don't even want kids, that's how far I'd go. 8[

Terrwyn is...fairly happy. And she can be a bit of a goof with people she's close to. She does have a past that hurts, but she keeps it private and wears it as armor; it does wear on her now and then, but it drives her forward more than it holds her back. On a happiness scale, I'd give her an 8 out of 10.
Hey guys, remember the time we were freaked out when we thought Solas was eaten by the dragon? Ahhhh good times.

I wrote about this a while ago, but I doubt Morrigan is the villain in any sense. She was put in the middle, technically, and she's made her place in it and is fighting her way out.
Solas isn't the villain either.
The "villain", I think, is Flemeth.
And when I say villain, I don't mean the typical guy with a cigar yelling "FOOLS". Like Corypheus. BioWare loves to make us sympathize with the bad guy, and they didn't do that with him. Morrigan, Solas, and Flemeth were given that special attention though. And they're all considered to be against the protagonist, and have hidden agendas; but they're still people, and they form attachments.
Morrigan wants to preserve power and history, and she cares deeply for her son.
Solas wants to help his people, and he cares deeply for Lavellan.
Flemeth wants Mythal and herself avenged, and she seems to care about Morrigan but their relationship is terribly distant.
Morrigan would give up everything for Keiran.
Solas may very well throw himself in front of Lavellan, and that's another reason why he left.
Flemeth...I want to say she would protect Morrigan, but I honestly have no idea if she would. It's been about ensuring people's survival for her needs thus far.
I think she is the most dangerous, because she wouldn't really question what she has to do, willing to do, what she will do. It's just about justice. Solas and Morrigan come to care about people, and this makes them question what they're doing. And while they very well may and will still do it, they consider the consequences. In the end, Morrigan decides to have her Warden's support, and lets him stand by her side. I wonder if Solas will allow the same thing. I hope he does.

I've been living the fangirl life since growing up with Harry Potter as a teenager. Wouldn't trade it for anything
Not sure if it's old news, but have you all seen the post-Therinfall Solas dialogue that DanaDuchy posted from the game files? Sounds like it was cut. Now I have fanfiction plot bunnies for what a post-Envy demon quest might actually look like.
I love that so much - pretty sure it was cut. Would have been very interesting! Kinda gives Solas another side to his relationship with the Inquisitor: he's an advisor behind the scenes. I like that.

Soooo... I may or may not have convinced a friend of mine to romance Solas on her first playthrough of DAI... She really likes him and she isn't even to the point where she has to choose between mages and Templars yet. I can't decide if I'm a really good friend or a really bad friend.
At least we have a support group complete with blanket fort and cookies.
That's why did with my bff.
Her: I'm not sure who I want to romance. Dorian? Bull? Solas? Solas is weird looking but I like him.
Me: Wait, you're asking my advice? Even after I made you romance Anders on your first run of DA2?
Her: I still hate you for that, but you have a good sense of characters and...it was more dramatic.
Me: ...
Me: ...
Me: ...Romance Solas.
Her: Goddamnit.
-Week Later-
Her: HE ****** DUMPED ME.
Me: Yep.
Her: AND HE'S A ****** GOD?!
Me: Technically.
Her: ...**** yeah, I f*cked a god.
Me: RIGHT?!
Her: He better ****** come back.
Me: Welcome to Solas hell. There are plenty of blanket forts and-
Her: Alcohol?
Me: ...I'll go to the store.

I've been thinking about this for some time. I paraphrased his inner monologue. It goes something like...
"Okay, tonight's the night. I'm going to tell her, and it's going to be fine. I love her and she pretty much rocks my world, so if this is going to work, it's best for her to hear it from me. Right? Of course I'm right. I'm ****** Solas. So... here goes--
"Wait. I can't tell her... I've overlooked the enormous possibility that she isn't going to understand. Or even worse, maybe she will understand and come to hate me. I can't tell her. But damn it, I told her I was going to tell her something, but what? Damn it, think, Solas... Think! There she is, looking at me so expectantly, so beautiful and her face...
"Yes, that's it, her face! The valaslin. I can tell her about that Whew... crisis averted.
"She really is extraordinary. I could just... stay right here forever... and why not? Nothing is stopping me, right? (LOLshe let me touch her butt)
"I love her so much...
"****. I can't stay. I've already come so far, and I still have so far to go. To give up now, I would only fail myself. Besides, what would she think of me if I didn't follow through? Look at her, all she has accomplished. No. I will see this through, but then I must continue on my path. Alone. I wouldn't want to put her in even more danger. Not needlessly. That's the way it must be. I love her so much. This is going to be one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do, but I will endure. For both our sakes..."
At least, that's what I gathered.
Legit.
Show this to BioWare, they must know. XD
We're so starved for DLC news that we're just randomly throwing Solas pictures like the grasping fingers of a drowning person at the surface...
I'm so starved for DLC I'm thinking of naming my new Kia Soul "Soulas".
