I'm not wrong; it's my opinion. The way I see it: yes, playing with bad teammates in pugs is a good way to improve at the game, and in some cases, you are essentially soloing due to the lack of quality teammates. I've done this plenty on Gold and even some on Platinum.
The difference is, even when you are killing virtually everything and your teammates are either dying constantly or just not a factor, they're still there drawing aggro and changing the flow of the game. You don't have them as distractions when soloing.
I'm not doubting your ability to solo or to carry pugs; my only assertion is that while clutching waves helps, the only real teacher for soloing, is soloing.
Completely agree. I learned this after a while. Even with bad teammates, it is still easier than a solo. The beginning of a clutch can be crazy though, as you have to gain control of the enemies locations. But the critical difference between soloing and clutching is the need to sustain your play over time, as opposed to bursts.
I can recall times when team games that felt like solos (teammates dying not long into the wave) still gave me somewhat of a break: time to plan the rest of the wave. And before they all die, you can be much more reckless than you could be during a solo.
