#19950725 Could ME:A benefit from the style of JoJo's Bizarre adventures?

Ooooh is this the Gust music thread now? <3

Yes!

Easily. That song is all over the place and has no spacing. no buildup. I think Mass Effect Music blows it away. Also the instrument is not what makes something great or not. You appear to want to hear electric guitar rifts. Here you go. ME music is fantastic, and I do not think they should be looking at genres they have already surpassed. KOTOR music was very good as well, (and they probably had to stay inside a classical structure due to the Star Wars films/Lucas). Bastila's theme was downright beautiful.

*vidsnip*

Somebody needs Ar Tonelico/Gust in their lives. I don't listen to Bioware music every day of my life.

Wait, no, this one is better.

These arguments are more based on your hope to be able to argue to change their minds, rather than how it was handled.  As far as Public Relations goes, I think they handled it as well as they could--they were going to do it, so they did it, with a neutral sounding announcement, and not giving people time to form some kind of weird counter protest.  They have kept the forum up for archiving.  Part of the goal of PR is to not just do things you like, but to also handle bad news.  In this case, I think they did the best job they could, outside of actually doing what you want.

That's the exact opposite really. You are putting intentions to my words that I do not have.

It's that I would prefer they tell me they are going to kick me in the balls before I do it, so, you know.

I can brace myself.

Maybe write on the side of the boot "Ball Kicking Shoes", so I at least know to maybe run off or go put on a codpiece. Because I know I can't reason with them anymore, once they have decided to put on these Ball Kicking Shoes.

I doubt they could have handled it any better way other than they did.

  1. 12 minutes should have been a week at least.
  2. Communicate with us after the fact, more than just one poorly thrown together excuse for an explanation.
  3. Simply have said a month or 3 in advance "We've been thinking of cutting the Off-Topic to have fans use other avenues, we will keep you informed"
  4. More than 12 minutes.
  5. Do things that people going to school for PR or similar fields don't deem dumb.

Are you referring to the alleged banned users who skirt their bans by opening new accounts, then use their established social connections in OT to reinsert themselves in the forum? The ones Puddi claims to know about. Puddi could be lying but the accusation certainly isn't vague. Many vocal protesters of the OT closure have suggested banning problem users as the means to achieve a healthier forum.  Banning won't work if an active group within the OT community is working against the moderation. This alone is justification enough to close OT, if a large enough portion of OT users help with skirting bans.

Personally, I haven't seen any banned users come back under new accounts in months or even possibly since old BSN days. I've seen users delete their accounts, and then come back later for their own reasons, but banned coming back under different accounts is a more rare occurrence.

Two weeks as of tomorrow.

Oh, so we are approaching the time we should have gotten after the announcement?

Remember when we had 3 Fallout 4 threads, and the mods moved another one into OT from another section? Fun times.

Yep now after Mass Effect Andromeda hype dies down (probably 12 minutes after release), they can just close the forums for good, so much easier.

That makes me wish I could archive every post I've ever made from the best to the worst, youngest posts to oldest posts.

Fun fact: You can actually edit posts already made in the Off Topic.

Do with that what you will, people.

Came back from VSN to get my Ar Tonelico: Melody of Elemia and Katanagatari Episode 7 review, because I don't want my two largest, most in depth posts on Bioware's forums gone forever.

And noticed that I had 10,069 posts.

So this is to make it an even number.

What's 12 minutes?

How long we got between this announcement and the shut down of the Off Topic.

If that happened in an anime, is the principal Ragyou?

Shoes wouldn't be the only thing taken then. Virginity, clothes, the works.

#19604927 Changes to the BSN

Posté par Gravisanimi sur 26 août 2015 - 02:29 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

I'd like to say.

Had Vroom not made a forum for everyone to get back together, I would still be here, still complaining about how this is a kick in the groin to every person who has ever posted in the Off Topic, and an insult to every person who has even posted on their forums.

And if they reopened the Off Topic, I'd still be posting on it, but I'd always remember that VSN is still there. Because with this, they said they don't want me here, that they don't want any person that has posted in this thread here.

If I get a warning point for this, as many have for making the kinds of comments I have made, then that just reinforces it.

As long as you keep it civil Prince, they won't ban you, but if they do, they are only proving me right.

Because we only got 12 minutes.

Because we only got 12 minutes, in the second most active section, where I met people I will talk to for as long as they let me, who taught me more about myself than I could have learned on my own, Bioware spit in my face. I went there as a safe place to talk after Mass Effect 3's Multiplayer had it's support cut, and I knew the place was going to fall apart. I met Prince in the MLP thread, and when the time came he created the RWBY thread, and every poster in that thread I consider a friend. I went on the anime thread, and continued to meet the people I want to know for more than Bioware gave us.

And rather than slap them in the face or yell at them, even if they don't listen.

I just picked up my bag and gave my regards to the people I have been friends with for 3 years, told them where I was going to be staying

I didn't do the easiest thing, I am risking every relationship I built on this forum by moving to another one. There are some people who I don't think I will ever see again, and that really sucks.

And most of us graduated highschool, so a lot of us know what it's like to just dump huge amounts of our social circles. But the difference is we knew when graduation day came. This is equivalent to the principal walking into your classroom in your Junior year and saying "Hey, get the **** out, you guys just graduated, we did it to make the school a more united place. You won't have a bus ride home, and we are taking your shoes."

See, this is the kind of thing I'm talking about. The kind of community splintering this does. "Stronger"? Suuure.

I mean sure, stronger in that everyone is the same and only talks about their games, next will be eradication of groups, signatures, profile images, usernames.

All in the name of making a more united community.

Well I finally caught up to the thread about one of the things I said I would leave Bioware's site for.

And yes, this change has cost them money, I would have probably bought ME:A if it looked decent, but with this they lost me as a customer.

I'll be sticking around occasionally until I round up some PM's I still have around here, and I'll be moving to VSN.

Oh well, they done ****ed up.

Windows 7 is perfect, why would I want a newer one?

Because my laptop battery lasts longer, and the start time went from 3 minutes until I could open a program to 30 seconds.

Man, just watching Kaiba's only like half the experience.

The rest of it comes from mulling over everything you've just seen after every episode.

Then trying to piece the plot together in a way that actually makes sense.

Followed by even more mulling.

All whilst listening to that soundtrack.

I'd probably have finished it already if it didn't have all that going for it.

Here, since it took me longer than it should have to find it when I looked for it.

ARGH!

I post in the shower sometimes.

Anyway, 5 episodes into Hunter x Hunter, yeah, I'll continue a bit faster. 4 episodes in 1 day is only 2 hours, I can do that. Downloading that though, that's the hard part.
