Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur hier, 12:08 dans Multiplayer

I miss gaming with tons of people. And the PS3 freezes and Xbox Live parties. And I also just miss being able to game like before.

But Smoothcriminal and Manbearpig to name two. Because ME, Borderlands, Last of Us, Killing Floor (lol) and Destiny and all the laughs.

Too many to name here.. but I will miss gaming with you as well. Sub 9 club ;)

Cheers to everyone on their nostalgia trip as well.

To name one though; Mermaidstear.

Her and all of the PS3 peeps. KB (both of them), Mighty MDub, AllMotor, the Spectres. Master Reefa san. Like I said, too many.

#20421608 Concerning Our Forums

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 01 août 2016 - 02:19 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

How disappointing.

The benefit of this forum has grown and is not merely a means of communication between the devs and fans. At one point and time, though, that relationship worked very well through the use of this forum and it would again for future titles. Of course the boards will stagnate in the gaps between major releases and that can lead to the less than valuable content and discussion that has been ongoing for some time now. I still see this place as a far more valuable tool for a game company than other baseless sites.. an official home for the fans and newcomers to discuss, communicate, create, and become friends... such significance would be lost on most social media websites in my opinion.

Well, thanks for the all of the memories and connections this place allowed. I hope such a place continues in some other form.

#19614356 Suggestion for MP: "Random class"

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 28 août 2015 - 09:30 dans General Discussion

It's called a d6.

Wandering Class roll
1. Soldier
2. Infiltrator
3. Vanguard
4. Sentinel
5. Engineer
6. Adept.

You might need to bust out a d4, d8, d12, d20 or something to randomize starting weapons etc

No, a feature in the game, built for the purposes of selecting your class for you. So you load in and are surprised, overjoyed, regretful, what have you. For the purposes of fun.

No need for dice when you have this http://masseffect.ra...me_english.html or the equivalents people will make later on.

Haha would be fun for you to say pick random character. Give it a light pistol and turning out to be soldier or something. However for the other players I can see it getting annoying for someone to be random cos it might impact on how well the team goes and before you know it 'randoms' will be kicked straight away.

This will be the case with some people but if you are playing with a friend you're safe as long as the vote-kicking is the same. People will know or learn that if they are picking "Random" when playing on the higher difficulties with public players there will be this risk. This is for fun either down the road in the next ME or even early on given the right group of players. I also don't mean to say you won't find players who will be annoyed by this, but you can load up ME3 and annoy most people by the things you choose to do in the lobby or in game; snap cheese, lolreegar, flamer spam, no consumables, whatever. Things that are really just choices, made possible by the game.

*note* this could also be a 'private match' feature as well if Bioware feels it would be used mostly to troll or if it would be too problematic. However, doing this in public games with a friend or two is the most fun. I will also say it wouldn't be used by most of the players and mainly by those who are bored and looking to make the game more exciting after already playing hundreds of hours.

#19612561 Suggestion for MP: "Random class"

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 28 août 2015 - 11:00 dans General Discussion

I would like to be able to select a "Random" option when selecting my character in ME Andro. Ideally, in ME3 it would pick my kit, weapon, and secondary weapon, leaving me to pick consumables, gear bonus, and my preselected build isn't randomized or anything of the sort. Simple as that. I know it would be a lot of fun for many of my friends and I. Seeing 4 "Randoms" in the pregame lobby would only lead to memorable times.

This is of course an idea spawned from the ME randomizer sites and tools that have existed for a while. So credit to those people, now I would just like the concept in place inside the game akin to the random select in a game like Street Fighter IV.

#19564170 Tell the truth, do you nuke spawns on Wave 11?

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 16 août 2015 - 06:35 dans Combat, Strategy, and Gameplay

People do it for the points. They are the same people who pause in between each wave for half a second to check the score.

I guess I still can't resist the bait after all this time ;)

#18795446 Looking for people to teach me the ropes [PC]

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 15 mars 2015 - 12:36 dans Multiplayer

I guess the question becomes, what's the best way to earn money so I can stockpile consumables? Do I run gold over and over without consumables, then use the money to buy Jumbo Equipment Packs?

Well, depending on the kits and weapons you have unlocked you may already be able to play platinum in a somewhat successful way. If you like playing some of the stronger setups than that's even better. The problem is knowing which setups are regarded as readily platinum viable. If you would post your Origin ID I would be glad to play some matches. I'm somewhat new to PC, but not at all new to the game.

#18673435 that weight glitch...

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 24 février 2015 - 06:40 dans Multiplayer

I can say that when the weight glitch breaks it doesn't depend on somebody joining the game in progress as this used to happen to a friend of mine during duos. It rarely happened and all we did to "unfix" it was restart the game. In my experience, it never happens on host and it only happens when the host is laggy.

#17914394 Multiplayer Bugs that Need addressing asap

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 29 novembre 2014 - 11:06 dans Multiplayer

With regards to the invisible enemies, can you provide me with more information on what faction and map you are seeing it on, what platform you are playing on, how often it occurs, and any other details I can pass on to our dev team?

Would you be interested in a video showing the map's top layer of textures disappearing (including enemies) and all that is left is the map's foundation. I've had the game glitch out on me twice like this and it left my team unable to pass through the zone. Both times this happened were on the 3rd zone of Threatening difficulty.. not sure if it was the same map both times but my recorded video was on the Chateau.

#17897762 How to dodge the Demon Commander instakill [Video]

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 28 novembre 2014 - 09:31 dans Multiplayer

Which difficulty though? He gives you a lot more time on routine than on threatening and perilous.

Is this even true?

And threatening.

*edit*

Here's a video I made showing a clip from routine and threatening of the DC using this attack. Might be a little difficult with the YT player but I was able to confirm there was no difference in timing for this attack from routine to threatening and I would assume perilous. Haven't had the experience or tried to party up to find out, though.

DC dodge by sprinting, routine vs threatening

#17895334 How to dodge the Demon Commander instakill [Video]

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 28 novembre 2014 - 02:44 dans Multiplayer

@ASmoothCriminalX

It only works if you are host.  If you have even a slight amount of lag you can still be caught by the attack even when sprinting.  Evasion skills are far more consistent.

Here is a little video I put together. Shows myself dodging the boss's ambush 3 times off-host. I don't see how lag will affect this scenario unless there is noticeable rubberbanding.

I will admit that using evasion is safer, but it isn't always an option for every character or in every situation. This is simply another option.

#17890498 How to dodge the Demon Commander instakill [Video]

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 27 novembre 2014 - 05:41 dans Multiplayer

Merely giving tips that you can then add to your strategy. Knowing how things work and what your options are is important if you are trying to move forward.

I fail at this sometimes but communication helps the most when dealing with the end bosses. Kiting with everyone on the same page helps tremendously.

#17890175 How to dodge the Demon Commander instakill [Video]

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 27 novembre 2014 - 05:10 dans Multiplayer

It is worth noting that sprinting alone will not always dodge this attack.  Fade Step/Cloak makes it simple to avoid however.  Thank you for providing a video to highlight this for everyone.

On the contrary, all you need to do is sprint in a straight line with open space to avoid this attack. For timing purposes, keep an eye on the Demon commander and watch as he disappears underground to know when he is preparing his ambush, then, begin running or get ready to use your evade skill.

If you are playing with a tank spec'd into Biggest Threat, then you shouldn't have to worry too much about this boss once you've confirmed the tank has pulled the Demon Commander's aggro. Unless the tank goes down of course.

It's also worth noting that if you get caught in the green AoE attack that causes panic, even if only for a second, then your character will be slowed for quite some time. So avoid proc'ing that attack if you are a class without an evade option or a shield. Notice, the Demon Commander will only use that "panic attack" if a player is in close range. This will allow the ranged classes to lay on more damage before he goes underground and this is a reason why kiting this boss is usually better, not to mention usually safer.

#17205318 Questions of Behavior

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 27 août 2014 - 06:53 dans Multiplayer

Same. The visual ammo effect on my weapon usually disappears but I can still cause FE's or TB's, for example.

It's not always the case, though. I've lost AP ammo after a host migration occurred and that's just the last time I remember. It's a gamble, for what it's worth.

They must hate me then. I never use missiles when clutching (and very rarely at any other times either).

Good man.

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 06 juin 2014 - 05:19 dans Multiplayer

Nice clip!

Did you call that random? xD

I learned how to switch faster to missile launcher, thank you! ^,^

Thanks. Once you learn you can save teammates so easily the game changes for the better and, imo, there's no better feeling when pugging than quickswitching to blast that banshee lifting your teammate.

Nice footage, smooth. I remember I pugged into your Vancouver Geth game. Good video, my favorite part was the bloopers.

Thank you Ev. I do remember that happening.. though, I don't remember the game so much ;)

#16680278 Gameplay clips wiff music~~ "LolPS3: Search for Frames"

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 04 juin 2014 - 06:57 dans Multiplayer

cool vid but you should make a new one with billy idol's "eyes without a face" playing on repeat. that would be epic.

Totally breh. I could get down with that for the next one.

Nice video Smooth, really fun to watch. You gonna be playing a bit more often?

Now I'm inspired to make one of these. Also, that Condor/Plat was a nightmare :P

Thanks, bud, and yes I will be trying to play more often. That work tho.

And good luck. If you decide to make a video like this. Depending on how many games you are going to pull clips from you may want to take notes every few recordings, as you go, rather than go back to review in the end.. like I did ;)

frames tho..

Nice clip btw, funny outtakes, I'd have told you to missile that bish. xd

Hope some people learned how to quickswitch via cover now. ;)

Have you... have you ever thought that maybe.. they (peasea, eggsbawks) have too many frames?? Maybe we should be grateful for the frames we do have my friend. *edit* ;)

Nice clip!

I also think you should do more duos with Knockingbr4in, for science. :P

I could definitely see that happening again at some point. Now that I'm finished with this I was thinking about chasing more of those solo and duo times that I tried in the past.

O.o Smoothy! Welcome back! :D

/goes back at reading thread

Edit: will watch the vid when I got time. Any chance of you picking that PC account up so that we can get a few games together? :)

Thanks!

Hmm I don't know.. for whatever reason I still really enjoy playing the game on PS3. We'll see for the next ME though ;)

Hey everybody, it's been a long time since I've posted on the forums. I've returned to share a video I feel is worthy of this board ;) Don't know why I felt like making this in the first place but it turned out to be fun and gave me a reason to play again over the past month.

The video link is here http://youtu.be/LNpMyyiq-gk

Most of the clips were gathered in Gold pugs using (mainly) the TSent with arc pistol, the GE with wraith, and the HSol with Claymore. Video is about 20 minutes long for those who are on a schedule.

I cut this together in a day and it shows. The only thing I really cared about was the clip selection so I hope that is at least up to par. Enjoy.

#16046154 The ultimate GI Gold solo [12:58] (VIDEO)

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 25 janvier 2014 - 08:48 dans Multiplayer

A very impressive video.

It just goes to show that you can't please everybody.. not that this fact hasn't been know to BSN/the internet already.

If it makes the consolers feel better you all should consider these PC records separate from console records as BSN did a few months back rather than bash and criticize every second of gameplay. There are already many disadvantages aside from RNG that makes a time like this impossible on the other platforms. Maybe then you will be able to appreciate a video like this for what it's worth.

#15882443 Is 3 points in shadow strike worth speccing into?

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 08 décembre 2013 - 05:48 dans Multiplayer

I think I'd rather have the ability to teleport across the map and through walls under a cloak than not.. even if it does piddly damage. But I rarely ever use the Shadow.. I just found her mobility cool despite her boring playstyles.

#15879294 Devil May Cryo

Posté par ASmoothCriminalx sur 07 décembre 2013 - 11:17 dans Multiplayer

My VHE is the engineer I pick to not play with the bugged Armor damage spec for Incinerate. I know it was said before but I find it interesting to avoid bugs when possible and revel in the days when they fixed the Freeze combo and Incinerate became much more useful... and on Gold, the only enemies you'll notice a drop in time to kill would be the bosses or perhaps Poss'd Collector Troops and Captains. Everything else drops very quickly with a Cryo acolyte on the VHE.
