Hello, thanks for inviting me to the group.  I have missed you all!

 

This is my first foray to the BSN this year.  There was too much going on after DAI was released and some of the threads/posts put me off visiting.  I generally found 'Off Topic' to be a friendlier place, DD being the best!

 

I didn't realise they were closing certain threads.  Very sad, we need an outlet for Shepenwepet's creations.

 

I will take a look at the Vroom alternative thread, but I think I need to fire up the Xbox and PS to check my DD details for both my pawns Thomas and Rhys because I can't remember their levels or their vocations because it has been so long  .  I have also noticed new pawn creations too.

 

I shall check in again soon, I feel bad it has been so long.

That would be a task and a half! If you do create a pawn like Corypheus, I would love to see it!

@Kaidan Fan, I thought Nicholas looked rather fetching in the dress, so much so I still have him!

I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas. I haven't been playing DD that much at all. In fact I still haven't finished my DAI play through! Never enough time.

Qattiel friended all the regulars on here: Shep, Coldwetnose, Tahirii, the only one I'm not sure about is Carcharoth,

I received one. I saw that they were playing DD, so I accepted it. I was a bit late accepting it though as my Xbox has been a bit idle due to DAI.

I am still on my first DAI play through. I am still way behind on the main quest because I keep getting distracted. I am the same in Skyrim! I have only played about 55 hours and some people are on their 2nd/ 3rd play through! I'm such a slacker. Really loving the game though.

I will say though that when I killed my first dragon, I wanted more than anything for my Inquisitor to grab onto it and slash away. I really miss that DD combat. Funnily enough Angry Joe said something similar. I feel I may need to fire up the DD game soon to really flex those combat muscles.

I love everyone's inquisitors posted so far. They are all gorgeous looking.

I haven't seen the thread about the possible new DD, I shall have to go and have a look.

I have been a big Cullen fan for a few years and was very excited to hear he was a romance for DAI.  I was so looking forward to romancing him.  

 

But Blackwall is trying to scupper my plans.  I absolutely love him, he has such a great manner about him.  He has put me in a quandary and I really don't know what to do!  Damn you Blackwall!

Hey so for my DD:DA friends playing Inquisition on XBONE & PS4 (since the graphics look amazing), would you mind doing me a small favor along the lines of using the CC to recreate a couple characters for me? 

 

 

I can try, although my character creation skills are not great.  I am never quite satisfied with my 'creations'. And the hair options are ... I am not going to moan, it is the only issue in an otherwise great game (plus hair is always an issue in games anyway)!  

 

I love seeing everyone's Inquisitor    Here is my Inquisitor, Freya (an elven mage)

 

 

She actually has olive skin with a few freckles, but it was the best image I could get of her (she is standing in some light).

 

When I get round to doing my male Inquisitor, I am going to make him either look like Arthur or Thomas, I can't decide (that's the problem with the game, decisions, decisions ....!)

I have been so good in avoiding DAI spoilers.  I have tended to read reviews rather than watch videos as I have been told that quite a few (someone mentioned Gamespot as an example) had spoilers in it.  But it is sooo hard.

 

I am hoping that Capcom are taking their time over DD2 to get it just right.  They could actually be putting together a great story.  And enlisting some great voice actors .  You never know, I live in hope!  

I really keep intending on finishing my NG+ but now that ACU will be out and then DA:I it will probably be some time before I do.  And I'm never going to have all the pretty armors and weapons that comes from finishing BBI 

 

Some day *sighs wistfully*

 

Until then I will just stare enviously at all of your pawns and pics of them and your arisen.

 

 

I feel you.  My PS3 pawn has managed to acquire some weapons and armour my Xbox 360 Arisen and Thomas can only dream of!  BBI was just more generous on PS3!

 

I must apologise for not playing much DD and for not visiting the forum much.  I haven't been playing many games at all over the past week or so.  Plus I have been avoiding BSN for a while, just to avoid spoilers and some of the negativity about Dragon Age Inquisition.

 

However, I am guessing that you are all going to be playing DAI (which is going to take an absolute age to complete).  I am currently pre-loading it onto my PC now and hopefully I will be able to have a play tomorrow  !  Sooo excited !

Maybe a change of clothing and scenery this evening might help.

I have a list - Cullen, Dorian, Blackwall and Sera all really appeal to me. 

 

But I am in conflict as to what Inquisitor to play first.  I wanted to play a female elf mage first who would have designs on Cullen.  But then I saw the Twitch stream last night and Dorian is just ... well I am debating whether to play a male Inquisitor first now!  Decisions, decisions ...!

 

Please excuse all the likes I have been giving.  Just catching up on all the posts!  I must confess to being completely distracted by all the excitement about DAI (particularly Cullen, Dorian and Blackwall who are all absolutely yum, which has left me conflicted as to what Inquisitor to play first  )
 
I did manage to have a little play on DD and managed to increase Thomas' levels by 2, which quite surprised me as to the short space of time I was on there (and I wasn't in BBI), I was just doing the normal story quests.  
 
Anyway, I do find defeating metal golems such a dusty experience.  It's like being in the Sahara in a storm

 

 

And it's always nice to have Nicholas in the party, dressed for the occasion (and what's even better is that I got the 'A Queen's Regalia' Xbox achievement for it!  Thanks Nicholas   

 

@TheChris92 - thanks for the update, I have been checking GOG.com occasionally throughout the day as to when I could download. I would rather Red Thread Games take their time re bugs, so I might leave it a while.

It is easier to list the ones I don't use much!

DAO:
Most used - Shale, Sten, Alistair, Zevran
Least Used - Morrigan, Oghren and Dog

DAA:
Most used - Nathaniel, Justice (brilliant tank), Sigrun
Least used - Velanna and Oghren (again!)

DA2:
Most used - Varric, Aveline, Anders/Isabela (depending if Hawke is a mage or rogue)
Least used - Merrill and Fenris

Re DAI, difficult to say because you don't know how the companions will be and how they will grow. But as I will be playing a mage first, more than than likely Varric, Blackwall and either Cole or Sera.

Well dammit I screwed up AGAIN and formatted my memory unit, completely wiping out 4 of my DD:DA progresses including my husbando Gaira as well as Darik, Syril and Dimitri so now all of my original accounts are reset back to zero and I no longer have any level 99 or 100 pawns. 

 

So if you want to rent them again they will be low leveled and looking shabby in the future

 

 

 

Sorry to hear about your progress being wiped.  I could never accuse your pawns of looking shabby though.  If I get a chance in between my current playthrough of DAO (why I am doing this, I don't know but I have to finish it now) I will take your pawns out.

PC first (I am hoping there will be modding opportunities in the future) then PS4 (for the achievements). 

My favourite is Shale, getting to know about her and her past.  Going to the Cadash Thaig was a nice touch, just so she could regain some of her memories.  I also liked the building up the relationship between my warden and Sten, because he is so disciplined.  Some of things you can get out of him just make me smile (it's like chipping bits away to reveal something slightly more soft underneath). Plus having Shale and Sten together was great.

 

I also liked the relationship between my Surana warden and Wynne.  I just felt over the game they gained a real bond and she came across as the person my warden would go to for some sense and guidance.

 

In DA2, the only real friendships I thought my Hawke genuinely had was with Aveline and Varric (and Bethany if Hawke was a non-mage).  

I think it is a matter of player choice and what they prefer.  I have played DAO on both the PC and Xbox 360 and I have to admit, I personally find it easier to play with a controller, but that is because that is what I have become used to over the years.  My K&M skills are a bit rusty, but I am trying to improve (playing DAO on the PC helps).

 

I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't use a controller for DA2 (because the controller worked so well in the Xbox version) but I will still play it. 

I have assumed that there are still issues with syncing your previous DAO and DA2 saves with the Keep.  

 

I only ask, because my PC DAO saves are synced, Xbox DA2 saves are synced (but not my DLC). But my DAO Xbox saves are nowhere to be seen but my BSN profile is updated   (most of my saves are on this console)

 

I am going to be positive and hope that it sorts itself out.  If not, I will create world states similar to games I have played (if I can remember all the details!)

@Caladin - sorry to hear about your corruption. It is never good when that happens, but as Curious said, it does happen.  It even happened to me (I turned to wine and chocolate) so I now back up saves on a USB stick.  It's a temperamental game!

 

@Kaidan Fan - I keep my fingers crossed DD2 isn't console exclusive.  It wouldn't be good to get the PS4 for just one game (although there are some good titles coming up for it in the near future).  There is a big PC market out there, it would be shame to miss the opportunity.

Currently playing through DAO again as a female elf mage.  But this time no Alistair romance (actually no romances at all) and I am going to save Loghain (for the achievement).  And get him to do he DR with Morrigan.  Just because I want him to casually pop up in Awakening just for a change.

 

I am at the end of the Fade quest - it seems to go on forever!

@Shepenwepet - I love your profile pic.  It's cute.  There aren't that many good ones to choose from.  It's a shame they don't have similar avatars to Xbox, as I quite like creating a mini-me and dressing it up!

 

I hope that you are able to stay connected for your games. I guess when you talk about your tenuous connection you are talking about your internet connection?  Or do you mean you getting Playstation+?  Anyway, I really hope that the next Dragon's Dogma comes out on all formats.  It would be a real shame for it to just come out on the PS4.  There are a lot of DD Xbox fans out there (plus I'm sure PC players would love to have the chance).  Grigori would be fuming if it became console exclusive

 

 

 

I know that most of us have Dragon's Dogma on the Xbox and a few on the PS3.  I was wondering which formats people were getting DAI for.  I am getting it both for the PS4 (for the achievements, plus I can play on my TV) and on PC.  I wasn't originally going to get it on PC, but the thought of having to wait days whilst everyone else on the other side of the pond got excited (and seeing their shorter countdown clocks) and having a play, left me a little sad.  Plus I want to see the modding possibilities.  I won't be getting any other new games for a while (well not until February when the Witcher 3 and The Order 1886 comes out at birthday time).

@Shepenwepet - congrats on getting the PS4.  

 

I chose to get the PS4 instead of the XB1 because for me it had better exclusive games that appealed to me more. You will get used to the controller.  I have to admit that I do prefer it a little bit over the Xbox 360 one (which in itself was a better controller than the PS3 one).   I am thenewschmoo (same as my Xbox GT) on Playstation if you want to add me.  I hope you enjoy TLOU.  Just avoid the Clickers!

 

 

I do like playing games on the PC too (cheaper games, faster loading + mods), but I too struggle a bit with K+M.  A lot more games have controller support (such as Skyrim, The Witcher 2 etc) and I know that DAI will have it too.  But I am getting a bit better with the K+M as you can only play DAO and DA2 using them!  It was a shame that DD never came out on the PC.  Just imagine what the modding community could have done to it, given the chance.

 

And lets hope that DD2 does come out on all platforms and that it will be cross gen so we can all use it each others pawns (with technology anything can happen *keeps fingers crossed*)   

 

Edit - does ME3 have controller support?  I have it on Origin and I know that ME and ME2 doesn't and I have to play those with K+M?

@Coldwetn0se - I can have a look through my mods and can send you a list of the ones I like.  

 

I will get back onto DD soon as I really need to kill Death before I even think about going on to NG+ (because I want to reset BBI).  

 

I wish that Capcom would get their arse out of gear re DD2.  There is a big need out there for it!  Saying that, a new trailer came out today re Deep Down - just a shame it's an online free to play kind of game which just makes me think £££££!
