Feels bad that our 186 artwork page is going to be wiped in all of this.

It's a great opportunity to make even better art.

I'm working out what's needed and how it'll be paid for and all that jazz.

I'll help chip in if you need it.

So I went to MSN and noticed it has a lot more news on India and Indian actors and more southern asian related things. I thought, "Oh okay, this is cool. A lot more world news articles today." The I slowly realized I clicked on the MSN India button, instead of the regular one i hit. Had no idea there were different versions. I think once a week I'll click on a different page and see what news is like presented to another culture.

Or, the most likely outcome. The Reapers would ignore the death star entirely. It's firepower is limited to one system and moves slowly, whereas the Reapers can spread about the galaxy, indoctrinating the people as they go, creating a husk army billions strong, bolstering their forces, taking over defenses. They'd force the empire to annihilate their own resources to prevent them falling into their hands, and as it goes, more and more of the people would fall in line. It only takes one powerful voice to turn to the Reapers to tear a united force apart. If the Death Star is capable of generating food and other life support supplies for its crew without requiring resupplying from a planet, it would last a long time, but if not, the supply lines would be cut and the death star would starve.

At least, that's my thoughts on the matter.

There's also the way the reapers fight. You mentioned their patience, but the reapers don't fight a full frontal assault, they create infrastructure and get people to rely on it then shut those people off from them and create agents like Saren and the collectors to work on the smaller levels. If it were truly a fight of the true GE vs the true reapers, then the GE would be in a galaxy the reapers already harvested, meaning the chances are that the GE would already be using the reaper tech and the reapers just have to do what they've always done. Just harvest the GE.

To go off from that question: The entire Galactic Empire at its height vs the entire host of the Reapers at their height. Who wins?

Does Grand Moff Tarkin, Darth Vader, and Grand Admiral Thrawn working together with the full military might of the Empire at their disposal beat the Reapers? Or do Harbinger and Sovereign and the rest of the Reapers, indoctrination & army of husks manage to overwhelm them?

Discuss!

I think the best answer to that is how would you compare the Galactic Empire to the Prothean Empire? Because if they match then the reapers conquer all, because that's what happened to the Protheans. GE had rebels force fighting them, the PE I think mainly controlled the entire galaxy. I'm no too much into the GE lore, so I don't know what foothold they had on the galaxy, but the reapers whittled the PE down over the course of a century.

Reaper vs Death Star. Has that ever been discussed?

Saw Star Trek Beyond and I've had time to digest what I saw.

My thoughts: Its a really fun movie. The acting, music, and cinematography are all great, and there's some truly grand visuals to behold, such as the space station Yorktown, which is like the Citadel in Mass Effect times a hundred.

All the characters you love are still great, and the new alien woman that joins them is cool, as well.

There's a lot more action in this one, but it serves the film's story and its all awesome to watch.

There's a really nice tribute to Nimoy.

The weakest link in this movie's chain is the villain. I found his motivations and backstory to be really lacking, but its not so bad that it spoils the enjoyment of the film. There's a few things that could have been fleshed out a little further, but its still an excellent time at the theater. Definitely go see it.

There's a lot of elements in this film that reminded me of Mass Effect. The Yorktown station I mentioned above, a lot of the tech the bad guys use are reminiscent of the Collectors, one weapon looks like the Reegar Combine just with different colors, the new alien woman is a really good mechanic and uses drones in combat like a certain quarian, and that's just a few.

So how did you enjoy seeing the voice of Admiral Shala'Raan play the Commodore that Kirk talks to?

Ah, okay.

So, what are your feelings for RNJR and season 4 and the slight timeskip and the costume changes?

I think Jaune Arc gets a chance to focus on becoming the leader that I think Pyrrha thought he should be while fighting his own demons regarding Pyrrha's death.

Blake I think is gong to become more of a recluse as she goes on her own 'LOTR' trek to stop Adam. Yang, fighting depression.

The rest, no clue, but the time skip I think is a good story telling technique. Allowing us as the audience to wonder about the skip and piece together what happened during the skip throughout the next season on our own while moving the story forward. Like telling two stories at once.

Funnily enough, despite growing up in California, it slowly seems to dawn on me that im probably more of a republican than a democrat. I seem to be slightly right of center, but good luck finding that candidate anywhere.

Same here. I'm just slightly right, just a little bit, from center. The coast is where the Dems live and that rest of the state is where the Reps live when you look at a political map.

The parties effectively switched roles.

The Republicans were originally liberal for their time. While the Democrats were the conservatives. It's called the "Southern Strategy" and it happened in the last half of the 20th century.

I think I remember reading how Nixon managed to win the southern religious vote in his second term, where he won every state in the union EXCEPT for Mass. Carter was a southern boy so the south voted for him along with Clinton, but I think Reagan managed to win the religious vote with southern baptists ala the Nixon method and that began the modern political swing in the south, where just as it was in the 80's the religious vote stayed the prime votes to grab. The south, unchanged for 100 years, then quickly changed and then will stay unchanged for another 100 years.

When the Republicans realized they could win elections by courting conservative southerners.

But where were the conservative southerners the whole time? When I think southern politics, at least in the 20th century, I think George Wallace and he was a big Democrat. He couldn't have had any power unless he had a huge backing, which he did, and I doubt the CS's were behind him. So how did a majority of the south go from backing George Wallace and the democrats to switching parties and being the conservative safe bet votes in two or three decades when they were staunch democrats for a century?

Until I get out of the South I'm keeping mum about my political affiliation. Doesn't seem to help, though.

That's amazing, cause for about 100 years the south was all democrat. I wonder when the change finally happened?

That's exactly how Star Trek Phase II was designed way back in the 70's I think. Triangle engineer section on a starship coming out of a base inside of an asteroid.

Lynda Carter.

So, in celebration to the new Star Trek movie coming out today, here are some 'Light Bulb' jokes I came up with years ago.

1. How many Vulcans does it take to change a light bulb?

     - One. Come on guys, it's only logical.

2. How many Andorians does it take to change a light bulb?

     - Doesn't matter if the light gets changed or not, just as long as it's one less than those damn Vulcans.

3. How many Klingons does it take to change a light bulb?

     - Irrelevant. They'll convince you they'll fight better in the dark anyway. Lazy Klingons.

4. How many Ferengi does it take to change a light bulb?

     - Two platinum. That's what they just sold that light bulb for. Two platinum.

5. How many Borg does it take to change a light bulb?

     - All of them.

6. How many Romulans does it take to change a light bulb?

     - 504. One person to change the light bulb, one person to assassinate that guy and claim HE was the one to change the light bulb. When the 150 member senate is unconvinced he has them executed and replaced with his own allies. One person wants revenge for his brother's death and convinces 50 vice-senators into a coup and violently overthrows that senate and their leader then installs his own 150 member senate declaring himself the new Praetor who is swiftly assassinated by a new guy who claims that he was the one to originally changed the light bulb.

And finally...

7. How many Cardassians does it take to change a light?

     - Depends, how many lights do you see?

Zing!
