I used to let dragoons bother me. Then I discovered the joys of rage-missiling. Goons are best taken out one at a time at point blank rage, just so you can count the gibs.

Was discussing with HamleticTortoise and Emexia last week. I think we agreed that of all of the cheating scum enemies we are up against, Geth are the biggest offenders and Reapers merely cheat most of the time instead of all of the time. So I would group them as:

1. Geth: Hunter and Arrugla Troopers being the biggest offenders
2. Derperus: Because Phantoms, also stupid nemesises being harder to hit than quarks
3. Collecturds: see Seeker swarms, grabby crabs, also possessed scion instant teleporting MIRVgrenades
4. Rippahs: Magnet Hands, marauders warping time and space to elbow you despite being hit with 4000 bullets, Warp, and a Boston cream pie all at once


In summary:

The first page here makes me feel like I'm surrounded by infomercials and everyone's trying to sell something. Yall need to calm down, get some air and clear your head. There's still quite some time before the forums are closed so I fail to see what all the rush is about. Secondly I'd echo the sentiment that you better be careful with your private info before hurrying up to join all these alternate sites. It's the internet, **** happens, don't get caught with your mouth open.

 

Another thing I'm curious myself is the stagnation of these new boards after a while because unlike BSN which is a popular site and commonly comes up on internet searches about the games, these new forums are practically unknown and there isn't gonna be that constant trickle of new people signing up like they do here. People are eventually gonna get bored, be inactive or move on. I think it remains to be seen how effective these new sites turn out to be.

 

As for me, I'm gonna see how this all turns out and wait a bit for things to settle. Cyonan's site looks good though as of now although I've always wanted a gif avatar

You're clearly wrong. Customer retention is an outdated concept. The social media is the new thing that'll bring in the bucks. Who needs word of mouth when you can run sophisticated ad crawlers to do the job? Just look at Pokemon Go and you'll realize people will buy anything if it's capable of producing coloured images and funny noises.

 

In other words, it's easier for a company to import a new fan base than it is for a fan base to find a new company.

 

Actually Jeff Smisek, the old CEO of United Airlines did this back in 2009 or so by yanking the benefits of their elite frequent flyers and selling them to regular fliers on the same day. The elite flyers went berserk, but CEO Jeff Smisek apparently thought he could just create a new, less-entitled elite tier and save the company money despite his previously loyal customers abandoning the airline in vast numbers. I'm not sure if it worked, but I avoid his airline like the plague these days. Smisek finally got fired last year, but that was because he was a crook, not because he relieved himself all over his most loyal customers and employees.
