As a gay man, I see Dorian's discomfort about being in a relationship openly stem from his upbringing. He wants the ideal real relationship but learned not to expect it. I would expected that Iron Bull see through all that flustering and be extra careful with Dorian. At least in the matter of the heart. Iron Bull drag Dorian out of his comfort zone to show him that, at least among the Inquisition, it is safe to be with another man. That's how I see why Iron Bull would be discussing their hookup and really it started out as *Hook. Up.* when Dorian would rather keep mums about it.
IB has no right to 'drag Dorian out of his comfort zone' nor does he have any idea what Dorian wants, as is shown by the IQ's romance with him.
I can't believe Bioware would write a character like this into one of their games. I am honestly appalled by whoever wrote him (and I think I know who).

That dead horse has been beat so many times. It's someone with negitive personal experiences inflicting their bias against game characters who were in no way intended to be represented that way. We have in game evidence that completely negates everything that's in that article. We have confirmation from the damn writers that while their relationship might be unhealthy, which is understandable, it is in no way abusive.
You can twist anything into being evil. That does not mean that's what it is. That just means that's how it was twisted.
It's unfortunate that people are so quick to inflict that kind of stigma on a character that doesn't deserve it at all.
But that is all, completely all it is.
There are lovely articles showing alternate points of view of it. But if you are willing to believe that a service dom with as good of a nature as Iron Bull is "mentally raping" Dorian into being in a relationship with him, it's just not worth the effort to try and open your eyes to anything different. Someone's very bias opinion is not fact. Period.
And you aren't biased?
If you hadn't read what I linked to, it explains (in detail) unwanted sexual harassment IB does to Dorian. He even explains a rape fantasy to him.
Also, if you payed attention to IB's conversations, you'd know that he's part of the Ben Hassrath and they directly manipulate how people think. They are called the 'Re-edcuators'. There are people in real life who can do that to you as well.

I like him, but he can be hard to like some times. He has been through a lot of tragedy in his life, I suppose, and that would put some sense into his actions. He does come off as more whiney than he should, but I do like him. He's just difficult.

Ooh Bull manipulates Dorian into a relationship? (Mentally rapes him?)
Do tell how. I'd love to hear it. Just to see all the pretzel bending.
What the living hell.......O__________O
That someone thinks that about Bull literally makes me sick. I...I don't know what to say to that. "Mentally rapes".....
That someone thinks that about Bull just really kinda hurts, cause I don't think that's even remotely true. Their relationship might be unhealthy, but no one here has any sufficient proof to claim "mental rape". Hell, the romance banter b/t Bull and Dor maybe only even had 3 or 4 actual dialogues.
Here. There are links to other parts added to it as well.

Just for the record, I had no idea this had been discussed at such lengths as I hardly get on BSN. I was rather shocked to see this thread have over two hundred replies.
You know, this actually sums up the OP's entire point.
Partly, but prior to my posting of this thread, I was curious about IB's romance as I was thinking of making a Qunari character (despite me hating the race) to see what it would be like and I was disgusted by the way he treated the Inquisitor.
A user here messaged me about this thread who had similar feelings about it but had more of a reason to it. Basically it showed how IB manipulates (to put it bluntly, mentally rapes) Dorian into a 'relationship'. Then I read about how he shames Dorian and treats him terribly. The romance Dorian has with the Inquisitor is considerably different, to say the least.
At the most, I can say I have a better or more fully developed reason for loathing this 'pairing'.

Since I accidentally deleted my main elf save game (and went through the appropriate stages of psychotic distress), I am going to make a new elf character but want him to resemble Abelas. I wasn't really sure where to ask this, but I thought the character section would be best.
If there isn't a way to exact his looks, is there an equivalent?

Personally, I abhor it. It makes no sense for someone who's a Tevinter to even fancy a Qunari. I would have found it far more interesting if Dorian absolutely despised Iron Bull similar in a way in how Vivienne really dislikes Cole.
I also can't help but feel that this was put in there because he is a gay character and he's supposed to represent one of those kinds of people (the actual words escape me right now, I'm mainly relying on a feeling to convey my thoughts).
It just feels wrong to me and doesn't make kind of sense. I can't even see Dorian with a non-human, really.

If we do indeed get to play as different species in Mass Effect (4), would you like it if we had a lot more alien weapons and armour? In ME 3, we got a lot of new alien weapons which was very exciting for me. I really loved the Acolyte pistol, Arc pistol and Disciple shotgun. It was really refreshing to see alien designs.
I found it very, very odd that the aliens in the previous games all had human weapons and vehicles. It felt wrong, in a way.
One thing that bugged me a lot was the lack of unique armours that were made. Granted, most species wouldn't be able to fit properly into each other's armour, but humans, asari and batarians all could fit into each other's. I'd really love to see some unique pieces as well as casual outfits that are expressive of the species-in-question's culture.

I agree with canonising some things for the sake of making a sequel viable. They have to do it; if they didn't, they'd have to make several different games based on each major ending and that is nowhere to go with a series.
What I'm against are the suggestions for going to a different galaxy. We already have a giant, mostly undiscovered galaxy of billions of stares and trillions of planets. So much life could be anywhere on any of these planets and yet people want to go to a different galaxy. There could be a species just achieving spaceflight like humans are now. Why not search for life in our own galaxy?
Also, how does anyone propose on traveling to a different galaxy? Do you actually know how far away those are?
Always thought it would of been cool to control multiple party members in certain situations.
There are situations like the Suicide mission in ME2 where it would of been cool to also be in control of the fire team. After Shepard's team progressed so far it could switch to the fire team leader.
Not something I would want to see for every mission, just in specific situations. in ME3 would of been nice to assign Legion 2 other party members on the Rannoch mission and switch to his team once or twice.(like when Shepard's team has to survive long enough for Legion to activate a console) And the final push at the end of the game, had 2 teams pushing towards the citadel "beam".(honestly I kind of wanted everyone present even if they weren't in your squad)
Would be a nice feature for the next game.
Well, you did get to control Joker when the Collectors boarded the Normandy in ME 2.

It adds to the atmosphere of the game. Part of the appeal, at least for me, in playing a space-based RPG is getting to explore the galaxy. If there were no hubs at all and all missions came to your ship via email or comm-link and such, it would reduce the game to little more than a shooter with the ship just as a temporary respite from running and gunning.
This. Adding hubs also lets you witness the culture of other areas and species, which is a huge aspect for roleplaying with me.They kind of give you a sense of where you are and the people around you.

Well, Krogans are awesome, but they make for a pretty bad RPG player character. Even the not-as-violent ones are still pretty violent. Wrex is portrayed as the future for their race, but he isn't known for his calm temper.
It really depends on what the role of the main character is. If it's a space pirate, then a Krogan would could be done well. Who knows.
Well, a character in a roleplay is what ever you make them, to be honest. They can have whatever temperament the roleplayer has in mind. Isn't that what most of the renegade options in the trilogy are for?
Let's not shoe-horn an entire species into a specific temperament either, that would make it impossible for any character to be unique, which roleplaying is all about being a unique character.

I'd like hubs to be more interactive like the Silver Sun strip in ME3: Citadel dlc. My favourite hub is Thessia cause it has an amazing view and I could feel a bit of what Thessia culture was like. To make hubs feel more immersivem, make the area more alive with more little things to do. I might be pushing it now, but maybe lets us purchase a place on a hub like the Anderson's apartment. I want to be rid of us having one ship like the Normandy.
I agree, definitely. I really loved the Silver Sun Strip, with all the things to do and opportunities to talk to different teammates. I'd also like to have an opportunity to have a home in the hubs as well, similar to how you got the apartment in The Citadel DLC.

Thanks, I actually googled my problem and it seems I'm going to have to unlink my PSN profile from my old Origin account that I made when I played The Sims 3 with my new one. So much work
I was able to register my Mass Effect 2, DAO and DA II copies on the old BSN, though I'm waiting for it to show up on here. It wouldn't let me register my DAO Ultimate, however. It's probably linked to my old Origin account, though.

Continuing to use the Citadel, would almost feel like a betrayal. I would send what was left of it into the Sun lol.
The Rachni on the Council seems a bit much to me. May as well add the Geth, if you are going that route lol. I'd be willing to accept the Krogan, but even then that's pushing it lol they are just too hot headed to be diplomatic. Wrex had to be convinced to be diplomatic and even then look at his attitude on Sur'Kesh. Can't say I blame him. The Volus, weren't most of them wiped out? The Hanar and the Drell would only have one counselor, as they are considered one society.
The Quarians better be playable. I can do without the Krogan, but not the Quarians lol
I do agree about the backgrounds though, that would be interesting. Salarian STG member would be cool.
Well, the Citadel was rebuilt, so there's not much to change about that. They're obviously going to use it again, so I can't wait to see how it has been rebuilt. I'd also like to explore other wards, especially those that are dominated by Salarian, Turian and Asari culture.
It may seem a bit much, yes. Perhaps the Rachni might just have their own little part of the galaxy they rule, or maybe they actually want to be part of multi-species politics. We won't know until ME 4. It would be interesting either way, though. I'd like to see how they would rebuild their species.
The Krogan don't seem to be as odd on the Council. Wrex himself, as well as Bakara, stated they wanted the Krogan to be part of the galaxy and contribute to it, so I could see them on the Council or at least have an embassy there. It doesn't mean dealing with the Krogan would be an easy feat, but when has interspecies politics ever been easy?
I'd love to see the Quarians playable too, as they were my first love in Mass Effect. I really loved Kal'Reegar, Han'Gerrel, Daro'Xen and Veetor'Nara as well as Shala'Raan and Tali, of course.
Well, a Salarian STG member would be something someone would have to work towards, rather than start out as, but yeah, I'd really love for some interesting character backgrounds.
