Just finished the 1st part of the Citadel DLC and took Wrex with me to Archives - he is having a blast there. All of them are, it's fun listening to the banter.

OT: I touched the waterfalls in the Casino for the 1st time and was delighted to find similar, but not exactly the same, language to that when you annoy the Salarian on Sur'kesh.

William was still a bit annoyed with some of the Quarians, even though he was able to talk them out of committing species suicide. Maybe punching ADM. Gerrel after he ordered the Quarian fleet to shoot at the Geth dreadnought made him realize that William was serious when he said to stop shooting at the Geth after the Reaper was destroyed. At least Gerrel did come to his senses and both species made it out alive. Except for Legion, of course.

It was probably good that he had saved ADM. Koris after his ship crashed. Koris's support had helped put pressure on Gerrel. And going into the Geth collective to stop their fighters was weird but helped more of the Quarian ships survive the battle. The worst part of the battle to remove the Reaper influence, before discovering that there was an actual Reaper there, was facing three Geth Primes at once. William was very thankful to have Tali there to sabotage one of them as often as possible. And the Geth Spitfire assault rifle he had found lying around were also very useful. William was a bit sore from running around avoiding the Primes and from dodging the Reaper's death ray before finally getting a combined hit from all of the Quarian fleet plus the Normandy.

Apparently the Asari Councilor wants to meet the next time William is on the Citadel but he has a few things he wants to get done beforehand. So he's off to find Dr. Garneau who can, hopefully, help him figure out what this Leviathan thing actually is.

Liara asked William to check out a distress beacon in Asari space. It was good to meet up with Samara there but horrifying to see what had become of the Ardat-Yakshi that had been staying at this monastery. William prevented her from killing herself and let her daughter stay at the monastery. Then William went to check out reports of some defecting Cerberus scientists and found Jacob there. After fighting off a bunch of Cerberus goons he got everybody to safety. Unfortunately neither Samara nor Jacob wanted to come back to the Normandy. Samara because she intended to go to the front lines and Jacob because he fell in love with one of the scientists and didn't want to leave her. So much for helping to save the galaxy Jacob.

After that, William picked up a few objects that people wanted and headed back to the Citadel to pick up supplies and finish up some stuff before heading to find the Quarians and ask for their help. He seriously underestimated the amount of people he needed to meet with or talk to or give stuff to or intervene with. And things did get a little weird for a bit. He had dinner with Kaidan and a drink with Steve and both seemed to think he was interested in them as more than brothers. He did let them down easy at least. And he reaffirmed with Liara that she was the only one for him (although he thought they had already had this discussion). Happily, she felt the same way.

Otherwise, he met up again with Zaeed when he had to save the Volus ambassador from Cerberus. Again, Zaeed didn't want to come back on the Normandy but he did track down some of his old merc contacts to help out with the war. William also ran into his old nemesis Balak on the Citadel (after wandering around the Citadel for 1/2 hour before realizing that he had not enabled the tracking program in the SPECTRE HQ, duh!). But instead of killing him like he wanted to, he talked him into giving William the surviving Batarian fleets. That one left a sour taste in his mouth but it was for the good of the war. Also, Joker and EDI were making a cute couple and Javik gave an inspirational speech to people in the Embassy area. (OK, William had to give him a little encouragement to make it inspirational instead of terrifying.) Garrus 'won' a shooting contest on the Presidium, as well as the 'who's the better soldier' boasting competition with James. James got a new tattoo and decided that he would join the N7 program, unofficially for now.

William is going to need a lot of sleep on the way to see what's up with the Quarians. Hopefully, they'll just agree to help out without making him jump through all these hoops...

William let the Rachni queen go again and she has been helping with the Crucible. He was sorry that Grunt's platoon was wiped out but very happy that Grunt himself survived. Then he went to Benning to try to figure out why Cerberus was trying to abduct colonists there. He managed to save a bunch of colonists and he found the dog tags of the Ambassador's son. He was not looking forward to telling the Ambassador about his son. Trying to postpone that task, he went to Noveria to take down a Cerberus fighter base. It was a bit of a grind but with Garrus and Javik, he devastated Cerberus using particle rifles and the occasional sniper rifle for the shield guys. Finally, he went relic hunting and grabbed some ancient pieces that should make that black market arms dealer happy and get General Oraka to back off the Blue Suns.

Not being able to put it off any longer, William headed to the Citadel only to find Cerberus trying to take over. He gathered his trusty team and, after making contact with Thane, headed over to C-Sec to help Bailey get it back under control. He learned that the Salarian Counselor had been supposed to meet with the Executor so he made his way to the Executor's office where he found the Executor dead but the Salarian Counselor alive. Until this weird guy with a sword tried to kill him. Thane stopped him but wasn't able to kill him and took a sword to the gut instead.

The Counselor said that Counselor Udina was working with Cerberus and that he was planning on turning over the rest of the Counselors to TIM. After a long chase through the Presidium and a more exciting than expected ride on an elevator, William confronted Udina. It was tense for a few minutes because Kaidan was unknowingly assisting Udina. Thankfully, William was able to talk Kaidan down and ended up, shooting Udina himself. Unfortunately the weird Cerberus guy got away. And Thane died. And William couldn't find the Ambassador anywhere to let him know about his son. At least it looks like Joker and EDI will finally get together. And he got to dance with Jack (much to her embarrassment).

Finally he decided that he would go check on this Dr. Bryson guy that Admiral Hackett wanted him to meet. Hopefully, nothing bad would happen there....

William cured the genophage but the cost was high. He took Mordin's death hard, even having his recurring nightmare afterwards. Only this time, Mordin's voice was included. At least Bakara and Wrex look like they will be great leaders, especially Bakara. And the Krogan were working well with the Turians.

The Salarians weren't happy but their Counselor did tell William that he had some concerns about Counselor Udina and that he would like to talk the next time he was on the Citadel. William decided to do some of those missions that Hackett had been asking him to do before heading to the Citadel. So he grabbed some Reaper tech from one place and then decided to go check out the possible Rachni sightings that Wrex reported. And was very happy to see Grunt there. Now to figure out what's going on.

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 12 mars 2016 - 10:07 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

William decided to meet with the Salarian, Turian and Krogan (his old buddy Wrex) heads of state since it was on his way back to the Citadel. The meeting was tense because the only thing Wrex wanted was a cure for the genophage and not surprisingly the Salarians weren't all that thrilled with that idea. From a mole, Wrex also knew the Salarians were holding some female Krogan who had survived Maelon's experiments. Well the mole turned out to be William's old buddy Mordin but, as with all things William was involved with, getting the lone surviving female out was trickier than expected when Cerberus decided to pay an unexpected visit. Wired didn't exactly make things easier by jumping onto the base and then commenting about eating Salarian liver. Javik just encouraged him by proclaiming it to be a delicacy in his time. William thinks Wrex and Javik are going to be great friends.

Eventually, the female was safely extracted and Mordin came along to produce a genophage cure. Wrex was extremely protective of the female although William got the feeling she could handle herself just fine. William was pleased that he and Mordin had made the correct decision when they saved Maelon's data since it looked like that was going to be the only thing that allowed Mordin to cure Eve's illness before working on the genophage cure. Both Wrex and the Turian Primarch had some additional stuff that they wanted William's help with but he put off that until he had a chance to go back to the Citadel.

At the Citadel, William was incredibly busy but at least he looked super cool in his leather jacket. He checked in on Kaidan (giving him some whiskey he had picked up earlier), caught up with Thane and Miranda, had a drink with James, encouraged Steve to let go of his pain over losing his husband, gave EDI some ideas on how to get Joker to express his affection for her, met up with Liara and Garrus, used Liara's Shadow Broker connections to identify a merc group he could use if he could extract them from behind Reaper lines, told an ambassador he would help find his missing son, sweet talked a reporter into supporting the war instead of playing gotcha journalism with him (it took everything he had to not slug her), talked to Aria about harnessing some merc groups for the war effort and helped a SPECTRE named Jondam Bau to identify a possibly indoctrinated Hanar.

He managed to get two of the merc groups in line and he had a plan for the third. And he prevented the Hanar home world from being completely defenseless when the Reapers arrived. The last task he accomplished with the help of his old squadmate Kasumi Goto who had fed information from her old lover's greybox to the SPECTRE. She wasn't all that keen on another suicide mission but she was quite willing to help with getting materials for building the Crucible. Especially after William mentioned how much high level tech would just be lying around.

Now it was time to head back to Tuchanka to see if Mordin could get that cure made and figure out a way to get it to every Krogan. And try to find the Primarch's lost son and/or figure out why Cerberus was hanging around on Tuchanka.

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 11 mars 2016 - 10:47 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

Cerberus is making William regret ever helping them (and especially giving them the Collector base to study). First, they tried to kill or capture Liara on Mars, which is never a way to get on his good side. And then a Cerberus robot disguised as a scientist nearly killed Kaidan. Oh well, at least EDI was getting good use of its body (and Joker seems happier than he has in years). And then they tried to kidnap a bunch of biotic kids at a place called Grissom Academy. But they evidently underestimated how much Jack, aka Subject Zero, hated them. William was surprised to find her a teacher at Grissom but not surprised at all that she very ably protected her students until William was able to come up with a way to get everybody off the station. And the slap for giving Cerberus the Collector base was probably warranted.

In between Mars and Grissom, William had tried to convince the Council to help humanity. The Council was not officially convinced. However the Turian counselor did suggest that if the Normandy could pick up the Turian Primarch, William could work on convincing him directly. And the other heads of state who were trying to get together for a conference. After the usual complications, the Normandy left Turian space with both the Primarch and Garrus. However, to get Turian support for Earth, William needed to convince the Krogan to help the Turians. Yeah. That ought to be easy....

And since they were in the neighborhood after rescuing the Grissom Academy students, William decided to go in search of some Prothean artifact on Eden Prime that turned out to be an actual Prothean. And William got the added benefit of being able to kill a bunch of Cerberus troops as well. And he provided the resistance on Eden Prime enough info that they were able to kill even more. Liara was beside herself with enthusiasm until she actually started talking to Javik. He, and his whole civilization, were really not what she had been expecting. But he seemed ready and willing to fight and that was what William needed most.

Now... try to convince the Krogan to aid the Turians or go back to the Citadel.

It seems to be a bit buggy. One time I didn't get it even though I did hang up on them. The one I always get though no matter what is Joker telling me we can hang up on them  over old times sake, but Joker telling Liara I did that doesn't always connect with what I did in ME1.

Yeah. I got Joker wondering whether I wanted him to call the Council just so I could hang up on them for 'old time's sake.' But I never hung up on them in my current Paragon play through. And that occurred when I talked to him in the cockpit. He did not say that to Liara when I first visited her.

After an initial scare, all turned out well for William while helping Liara find the Shadow Broker. Apparently Liara is, in fact, a good information broker and knew about Miranda. But after chasing another rogue SPECTRE all over Illium (and finally killing her), they used the info she tried to steal to locate the Shadow Broker's base. After fighting through his minions, William and Liara had to kill the Shadow Broker himself (or was it itself, the SB was a Yahg - William wasn't too sure what genders Yahg had). Afterwards, they shared a kiss and later a romantic rendezvous on the Normandy (in the Captain's cabin like normal people) and all was forgiven. The only problem was that Liara took over as the Shadow Broker so she couldn't come back to the Normandy.

Before trying to rescue Admiral Hackett's friend, William decided to visit the site of the Normandy's crash. It was very somber but he was glad that he got a chance to pay his respects to the dead and to his old ship. He buried a few ghosts while he was there and left feeling much improved.

Which lasted until he got to Batarian space to 'rescue' Dr. Kenson and found put that she had been indoctrinated by the unshielded Reaper artifact she left out in the open in the middle of her base on the asteroid that she had originally planned on flying into the system's Mass Effect relay. And that the Reapers themselves would be arriving very soon. And that part was after they had to fight their way out of the Batarian prison she was being held in. With time running out, William had no choice but to implement the original plan even though it meant that all the Batarians in the system would be killed. He tried to warn them but he was barely able to get out ahead of the destruction in time himself.

Not surprisingly, the Batarian's reacted badly to the loss of more than 300K civilians so to placate them, William was put under house arrest. Until the Reaper's arrived on Earth and turned a nice peaceful day into a nightmare (not the least of which was that his face seemed to undergo some kind of transformation - maybe it was all that hot food and soft beds). Now he's supposed to go to the Citadel and recruit ships from as many other navies as he can sweet talk into helping Earth. After a quick stop on Mars to pick up something Liara had been working on for Admiral Hackett. And see Liara....

Whew. Everyone survived the trip through the Omega-4 relay and William got all of the crew back. It was too bad about those colonists from Horizon though. William had the Geth, Legion, who he had learned a lot more about when he helped Legion overwrite the Geth 'heretics' who had sided with Saren, hack into the Collector systems to get the group through the first part of the Collector base. Miranda led the 2nd team because William was a little weirded out by the fact that Miranda's idea of a good time was to get it on in the engine room. It was certainly fun and a good stress reliever but .... the engine room?

After sending Kasumi back with the rescued crew, William had Samara create a biotic bubble for him and Miranda and Thane (maybe, it all seems to blend together in his memory) while Garrus led the 2nd team this time. For the final push, William took Miranda and Garrus with him. And while he was completely horrified at what he found, he decided that TIM had a point that information from the base could be used to help the upcoming fight against the Reapers. Because William was convinced that there would be an upcoming fight against the Reapers. And soon.

Of course, once he got back to the Normandy, literally everyone thought saving the base was a bad idea. Not that anyone mentioned it at the time.

William then decided to finish some of the Cerberus stuff that he hadn't gotten around to earlier. He destroyed a Blue Suns base that was using a distress beacon to lure freighters to their doom. And picked up some data for a guy on Omega. Still a bit put off by the whole engine room thing, he broke up with Miranda. It had nothing to do with his decision to help Liara find the Shadow Broker..... Nothing at all. What Liara doesn't know....

#20121980 What did you do today in the Mass Effect trilogy

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 04 mars 2016 - 04:34 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

William resolved Kasumi's, Thane's and Garrus' problems with only a bit of trouble. Kasumi's was probably the most difficult because there were only the two of them and Hock had a gunship and a lot of mercs. Thane's problem with his son was dealt with using minimal actual violence. And William talked Garrus down from killing Sidonis (although he had no problem letting him shoot Harkin in the leg). After all this and resolving a couple of matters on the Citadel (it was hard to destroy the Krogans' dream that were fish in the Presidium lake but fun to let Tali harangue the Volus and C-sec officer who were being jerks to a young Quarian on her pilgrimage), it was time to collect the IFF from the derelict reaper.

Which, as expected, turned out not to be quite so derelict. The one good unexpected thing was a talking Geth that helped him kill some of the husks that had overrun the station. The sheer number of husks aboard made William wonder about the size of the scientific delegation that had been sent to the ship. Were they expecting to stay long enough that they had brought spouses and children too or did they just bring a lot of research assistants for each scientist? Miranda and Samara were good for husk control until the final section when the husks were approaching from pretty much every direction. William had to finish off the majority of those husks by himself. The inferno grenades were extremely helpful. As well as a lot of running around so he wouldn't get mobbed.

They decided to take the Geth with them when they left. Miranda wanted to turn it over to Cerberus and Jacob wanted to throw it out the airlock but William wanted to talk to it before deciding anything else because it had both spoken to and helped them. After talking to it, William made it one of his crew. Because the IFF was going to take awhile to incorporate into the Normandy's systems, William decided to get a better understanding of the Geth by helping Legion with a problem. He would take Tali with him as well just in case it was a trap.

#20120694 What did you do today in the Mass Effect trilogy

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 03 mars 2016 - 06:42 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

William found himself in a bit of a pickle. Liara was too distracted by what was going on with the Shadow Broker to want to be with him (either personally or on his mission) and he had developed feelings for Miranda after working closely with her on many missions, including stopping her father from finding her sister. Miranda seemed to reciprocate so things moved along nicely. And then Tali misinterpreted his affection for her as romantic. He had only himself to blame since he rescued her from Haestrom and then helped her when the Quarians lost their collective minds and accused her of treason. He even saved her father's good name. He tried to let her down easily but apparently that didn't work out quite like he meant. So he had to tell her, no, he didn't want to be exclusive with her (oddly there was no way to tell her he didn't want a romantic relationship with her just not an exclusive one). Oh well. She seemed to take the hint this time. Maybe he can redirect her attention to that other Quarian they saved on Haestrom. Kal'reegar I believe his name was.

William is still a bit ticked off that TIM sent them to this "derelict" Collector ship without telling him that it was a Collector trap ahead of time. At least EDI proved helpful and they got some good info about what they needed to get through the Omega 4 relay successfully. Unfortunately that involved getting a specific device from a "derelict" reaper ship, that might not actually be derelict since the science team TIM sent stopped reporting in shortly after they arrived. He is putting that off until the whole crew is undistracted. For better or worse, only Kasumi, Thane and Garrus are left with problems to resolve. So it won't be too long now.

**Whew. Insanity got pretty insane for the Collector ship mission. Most of the other recruitment and loyalty missions haven't been too bad although occasionally hordes of varren cause issues because they swarm you before you can get their armor down. And the abominations at the end of the Collector ship mission. Lots of strategic 'retreating' (Run away!) and getting used to health being in the red. Although the inferno grenades have been very very useful in bringing down health and armor without getting too close.

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 28 février 2016 - 03:44 dans Story, Campaign, and Characters

William has been busy recruiting people. He had picked up Garrus (aka Archangel), a hyper Salarian scientist named Mordin, a giant baby Krogan named Grunt and a crazy biotic girl named Jack when TIM informed him of a colony called Horizon that had gone silent. And that his old crew mate Kaidan Alenko was on Horizon at the time. He took his tried and true crew, Miranda and Mordin, with him. Mordin was 'excited' to be testing his device for getting the swarms to ignore the group. One collector seemed to keep taking over other ones and trash talking William.

But after a hard slog they killed everyone in their way and got to the tower that controlled the giant guns that had recently been put in but that had targeting issues. While EDI was calibrating the guns, all heck broke loose eventually culminating in a fight with this huge spider like thing that involved a lot of running away and then shooting from cover and then running away again. The guns finally drove off the Collectors with, unfortunately, about a third of the colony on board. Happily, Kaidan survived but was really really po'ed that William was working for Cerberus. They didn't part well.

Afterwards TIM admitted to using Kaidan as bait for the Collectors, which did not inspire trust in William. But he did have some more people to recruit, most of whom were on Illium. Which just happens to be where Liara is....

William woke up to someone screaming at him to get out of bed. Unfortunately, it wasn't Liara. And worse, the last thing he remembered was throwing Joker into an escape pod while the Normandy was in the process of being destroyed and then floating around in space as his oxygen leaked out.

Assuming that he had been rescued, he struggled into his armor while the strange voice told him that the facility was under attack. Instinct took over and he dispatched the mechs that were attacking him but his world got upended when he met a guy named Jacob, who told him that he had been in this Cerberus facility hospital for 2 years. Eventually he got off the facility with the person in charge of 'bringing him back', a phrase William found a little unsettling. The guy in charge of Cerberus, called the Illusive Man (or TIM), told him that human colonies had been disappearing and that he wanted William to figure out what was going on and stop it. After going to the latest colony hit he ran into Tali of all people. Based on some recordings from the Quarian Tali was there to find, Miranda recognized the creatures doing the abductions as Collectors.

Remembering his past dealings with Cerberus, William was just a bit skeptical of TIM's motives and wanted his own crew back for this mission but apparently they had scattered like the wind after his 'death.'  Except that TIM, realizing that some friendly faces may be necessary, had hired Joker and Dr. Chakwas to crew on the new version of the Normandy that he had also built. Now to get to recruiting some of the other guys that TIM had suggested. Starting with a scientist on Omega....

William's night turned out better than expected when Liara showed up and told him she wanted to be with him. So, very refreshed, he drove through Ilos and onto the Citadel, which turned out to have a mass relay in it. The Prothean VI, Vigil, had explained what Saren and Sovereign were after on the Citadel so William, Liara and Wrex proceeded to track down Saren once they got there. William convinced Saren that he was indoctrinated and he ended up killing himself. Only to be taken over, maybe, by Sovereign and turned into a zombie Frankenstein type thing that they eventually dispatched. Killing this thing seemed to break Sovereign's concentration and the Normandy led the way to defeat the Reaper almost at the expense of their fearless leader when debris rained down on his position.

Afterwards, the Council (who William had saved at the expense of many human lives), decided to admit humanity to the Council. William recommended the current ambassador, Udina, to be the new Councilor from the Alliance. He thought a professional politician, even a snake like Udina, was what was needed to work with the snake-like professional politicians currently on the Council. And then he rode off into the sunset with Liara at his side.

****And thus ends my first insanity run. Annoyed that I didn't get the Asari achievement since Liara was on literally every major and minor mission after she was picked up in the first major mission. Insanity wasn't too bad after I got through the 1st couple of major missions and got good guns and armor. Now William's story will continue in my 1st insanity run on ME2.

William is currently orbiting above Ilos, pondering the end of his military career and trying to figure out a strategy for dealing with Sovereign. He's been to the ends of the galaxy doing everything from saving scientists from biotic terrorists to putting down a Geth incursion and a whole lot of stuff between. At least that last bit got Tali some useful info for her pilgrimage. Granted that releasing the Rachni queen and nuking Saren's science facility on Virmire (it was the only way to be sure) were not necessarily popular decisions, he still didn't expect the Alliance to lock the Normandy down on the Citadel and flat out refuse to let him go after Saren. After losing Staff Sgt Williams on Virmire (thankfully he was able to talk Wrex down from his desire to get the genophage cure), he was in no mood to just hang around. Admiral Anderson was able to override the Ambassador's lock down (so there will be two at the court martial if he survives tracking Saren) to get the Normandy loose. At least there had been a moment with Liara while docked.

Whatever comes next, he knows both Wrex and Liara will be there with him to see things through. He doesn't remember the last time he took someone else with him on a mission. Their biotic powers and his weaponry have made them a lethal combination throughout the galaxy. Even against the Geth, the lack of any kind of tech powers has not hindered them other than being unable to open a few weapon and storage containers. It all really came together once he got enough credits to buy the SPECTRE weapons and some good armor for the crew shortly after Feros. Since then it's been constant upgrading of his gear to make sure that he had the right equipment for every situation.

Looks like he's going to have a long night of poring through data to try and find something that will give him an advantage against Saren, but more so against Sovereign.

William managed to kill the Thorian without killing any of the colonists. The only one that died was the leader, Fai Dan, and he killed himself. Not sure why the stun grenades didn't work on him. He got a lot of exercise running away from the creatures that protected the Thorian who liked to get close and then spew some kind of toxic gas. Poor Tali and Garrus got brunt of their attacks and had to be revived constantly after getting too close to the creatures.

There was an Asari there as well who kept being regenerated and who kept trying to kill him. She died a number of times but after he killed the creature the real her was released. She told him why Saren wanted the Thorian and gave William the same info she had given Saren. Unfortunately this info came in the form of a "mind meld" that was supposed to give William a better understanding of the information from the Prothean beacon. Even with Liara's help after the mission, he could not make much more sense of what was going on.

He had a long talk with Liara after the mission. He thinks she is such a sweet girl but, despite there being a mutual attraction, she's not sure if now is the rime to act on it. He agreed to let her take her time but he's a little worried that he might have ruined his chance at romance with her. Hopefully not, since he believes she's worth the wait.

At least, he made enough credits to get the SPECTRE assault rifle. So he will take out his relationship frustrations by mowing things down. That always makes him feel better.

William Shepard, colony kid and genune soldier hero, became the 1st human SPECTRE after proving to the Council that another SPECTRE, Saren, was responsible for the attack on a human colony where he apparently allied himself with the Geth. He felt bad about kicking Capt. Anderson off the Normandy but what a sweet ride to have. And he also recruited a former C-sec officer, a Krogan mercenary and a Quarian kid - noting that some of the crew seems to have some issues with the non-humans. That got squelched fast.

His first action was to locate the daughter of an Asari matriarch who was collaborating with Saren. He was immediately captivated with her and believed pretty much every word out of her mouth. After a difficult fight with a Krogan and a bunch of Geth, he got her and, oh yeah, Kaidan and Garrus, onto the Normandy before the whole area was engulfed by a volcanic eruption.

Ran into some issues with some husks that seem to have taken over a mining facility. Will have to return and figure out how they got there in a bit. But did help out a bunch of people on the Citadel and helped both Garrus (the former C-sec officer) and Wrex (the merc) with some unfinished business. You'd think they'd let SPECTRE's take the good weapons. But no, he has to pay for them himself so he's trying to save up his earnings from all these side missions.

He still can't afford the good stuff but he decided to go see what's happening on Feros with what he had. And he found a sentient plant that is basically enslaving a bunch of colonists. (By design of the company running the colony, which did not go over well with William.). He's not sure what Saren wants with the plant but he's going to find out. And, hopefully, release those colonists from its thrall.

**Insanity was much harder than I was expecting at first. But now I'm starting to get some good armor and weapons and I should be able to afford at least one of the SPECTRE weapons after Feros. And some strategies for facing Krogan or Geth or humans. Plan to do a full insanity run but it will probably take me awhile.

You can ask for the upgrades, or they will be automatically added after you complete a loyalty mission. I try to just ask Jacob for that and I don't speak with him about anything else until after his LM. We end up pals who agree to share drinks, but it's tricky getting around him as a FemShep. Tricky and downright creepy.

I also heard if loyal members are teamed with non-loyal members, they can still die during the SM.

I think it's Jacob's though. The laser cuts through the ship and fries Jack. Tali's shield protects those in the engine room if I recall.

I always keep everyone alive so ME3 has bigger tragedies lol but let me tell you, it took forever to save Miranda on Horizon. Only way it worked for me was shooting her sister. Any other option and she died in my FemShep's arms.

My 1st time through she lived through Horizon but I did her LM in ME2 and gave her the resources she asked for in ME3 and warned her about Kai Leng in the early parts of the Sanctuary mission when viewing the various video screens. But that was the only time I've been able to warn her and thus save her. I haven't tried shooting her sister. Can't imagine she would be pleased about that. :)

Did she die on the ship or during the mission? If on the ship, it was the armor upgrade. She, and only she, will die from the Occulus beam.

Yes. It was on the ship so I forgot to ask Jacob for his upgrade. Avoided him a little too much but he is really creepy to talk to as femshep. Shouldn't be an issue with my current maleshep when I get him to ME2.

Seems to be back when I refreshed this time. Will see if it goes away again.

You need Jacob's Armor upgrade, Garrus' Canon Upgrade and Tali's shield upgrade so Jack, Legion, Thane, Kasumi and whoever else isn't killed by the engine room, laser or beam.

Must have been Jacob's upgrade. I barely spoke to him during the entire ME2 run but I thought I had that. Or possibly Tali's upgrade. She wasn't happy with me that I gave her Father's data to the council. That mission was also very late in the run. Maybe I didn't go back to ask her about ship upgrades before starting the suicide run. Hmmm... but I probably got the upgrade before her loyalty mission so back to Jacob.

I've gotten everything in my other ME2 runs so it was a surprise when Jack died. Have to be more careful. Grissom Academy isn't as good without her.

Claire Shepard - Renegade, Earthborn, Sole survivor, Vanguard - is now in charge of the galaxy. Nobody better mess with any of its inhabitants. (Nothing could go wrong with that.)

Survived by her beloved Garrus Vakarian (aka Archangel) and most of the Normandy's crew. Probably didn't need to sabotage the genophage cure and kill both Mordin and Wrex but hindsight is always 20-20 and with the death of Eve she did not believe the Krogan could be counted on to rein themselves in. Oh well. At least the Rachni are still alive.

And she probably should have agreed to provide Miranda with the resources that she needed on Horizon. At least she was avenged. And something happened to Kasumi. I guess she should have followed up about that thing with the Hanar ambassador. She did help Zaeed out although he didn't come back to the ship. And Tali has her home world back with Geth helping to rebuild. It's probably good that Claire has control of the reapers because the Geth and Quarians may have some integration issues.

At least she brought everybody but Jack* and Jacob home from the suicide mission. And though she accepted Kaidan back onto the Normandy she did not get back together with him. Partly because of his actions on Horizon but mostly because of Garrus. That night before the suicide mission. Oh my. And the tango at the casino on the Silverrun Strip. Who knew that the formal C-sec agent had such a romantic side.

*Still not sure what I forgot to upgrade that lead to Jack's death. Jacob's death, on the other hand...... And I was much better at the ME3 combat this time after playing so much MP. May have to try an insanity run just for kicks. Now to decide who my next Shepard will be - probably male but not sure paragon\renegade. We'll see.

#20059887 Recent Game Highlights and/or Low Points

Posté par FairfaxGal sur 02 février 2016 - 09:45 dans Multiplayer

Oh so very much stability was used. At first I had both the SMG recoil system and stability mod but I found it worked just as well with just the recoil system gun mod.

Hadn't thought about the Barrage upgrade. Will look into that when start the Hornet.

QFT.

SMG Recoil System (#7) and High Caliber Barrel (#3) with AP Ammo is the way to score points with those things, because most of their crappiness is not having all the bullets hit the target. Barrage Upgrade with the Recoil System gives you 100% stability as well as some much needed extra ammo in the case of the Hornet.

That's a high!

I might even be overdoing the stability thing. Thx game for no feedback on this part. The excess stability surely went into my headshot skilz, though.

High: finishing CSMG challenge for the 1st time

Low: realizing only have Shuriken & Hornet left to finish all SMG gun challenges. Decide on the Shuriken bc have more points already.

High: got 90k points in HGlacier/Cerb/Silver using Shuriken with HFE and level 1 consumables except for SMG 2 because, well, Shuriken. I enjoyed playing with it more than I expected.

Low: realized the vast majority of those points were not Shuriken related although I am 1/2 way there now.

Lower: still have 139,854 points left on the Hornet (plus the additional 60k for the Outsider challenge)
