We are not complaining about nitpicking?

Was. :P

What kind of flaws are we talking about?

The flaws in the writing and the story.  ;)

So, ''DA4'' is your last hope?

For a "DA" game? Perhaps, but I know better to not have that high expectation anymore, and I also learn to enjoy good old RPG games from BioWare or find a good side in modern BioWare's RPG games instead of hating the whole company like some people do. As much as I like DAI and TW3, I wouldn't say their writing is flawless ,tbh I never seen a game where the writing is perfect.

4)Beautiful banter with Dog,Sten ,Zevran and Wynne at return to Ostagar, emotional impact on forcing Loghain to watch Cailan.

One would enjoy the banters involving Loghain, Wynne, Sten and Dog was my favorite. I had a good laugh with Zevran one as well.

In all fairness, the other companions don't do anything for you either. These games usually are about you doing stuff for them.

Alistair does offer you a position when he becomes king though, if that counts. But overall, I don't think the definition of friendship is that complicated.

Its pillars are appreciation and trust, both of which are shown over the course of the game.

Beyond that, I do like the fact that he was there since the beginning. You've been through a lot together.

Heh, fair enough.

I think it's debatable whether it's a gesture of friendship or purely political, maybe it's lean forward more on friendship side. Aye, you do have a good point. Eh, I still can't help but feel mildly frustrated about a few things he's done or say to my Warden though.

Not in the way of favors, perhaps, but he is the kinda guy that would stand for you.

When you meet Goldanna as a Dalish Warden, she asks "who is that elf? Some servant to carry your riches?" and Alistair immediately tells her that's his friend and she shouldn't talk like that.

I suppose he did stand for you when you meet Goldanna eh...regardless of your race and origin since that blasted Nug humper still call my Aeducan "some dwarf to carry Alistair's riches". I feel like I need to point this out though, in this situation there is a dialogue option where you can pick for the Warden to defend Alistair. I think both the Warden and Alistair would stand for each other, but that being said for the entire course of the game you can be the Warden who babysits and help Alistair while he's barely done anything for you, well aside from Goldanna's scene you mentioned I haven't seen Alistair doing anything else for the Warden, while our Warden can do tons personally for Alistair such as cheer him up, encourage him to look for himself, help defend his childhood home and save Eamon's entire family, find Duncan's memento for him and so forth.

Don't mistake me for a hater though, and if I forgot some detail please remind me.

I never get why so many people like Alistair, and consider him the Warden's best friend tbh. He has never done anything for the Warden, unless you romance him maybe.

Sawasdee krap. I lived most of my life in Malaysia, though I prefer Singapore. Living in Malaysia, especially in the recent years, is trying to say the least.

สวัสดีครับ, เพื่อน (Sawasdee krub, friend.) I born and lived in Thailand, life here isn't easy as it seems as my home suffers political turmoil occasionally not to mention other problems we've faced, but there are many places where people actually struggle to survive in each day. I'd like to visit both Malaysia and Singapore someday if given a chance, actually I'd like to see the world in my youth. Yin dee tee dai roo juk, krub.

The City Elf has plenty of reasons to hate Howe. He purged the Alienage, facilitated the slavery ring, and imprisoned (and probably tortured) Soris.

Yeah, those reasons remind me that the City Elf can justify personal hatred for Howe. I still think it wouldn't be as personal as Vaughan, and Soris being imprisoned can be averted if you had taken all the blame.

I think I already tell you this, but a good example of this for me is The Witcher 3: Iorveth. Very important for TW2 plot, right? it's kind impossible cut him off from TW3, they creat a big hole in the plot and just let Roche there, whatever the path, he is not angry with you, lol?

Yeah, that is problematic and sloppy writing. I'm baffled how they decide to cut him off so Roche can stand in the spotlight, and even if Iorveth is to appear in the expansion they'll need to show us a good explanation to fill that hole in the plot. Agree, I think it's kinda silly how Roche's behavior to you stay the same regardless of your path or your decision in TW2, and speaking about that there's not a single word about Anais in TW3. Did I just rescued her for nothing, is she still around somewhere and safe? I don't like it when something is conveniently forgotten because "plot".

I'm intrigued somewhat

@_@

I'd heard such terrible things about DAI that I was actually surprised that it wasn't as bad as I feared. That said, I agree that the Inquisition being the answer to everything is not very exciting, and it was definitely weird playing as a Dalish elf mage and having everyone be so friendly and accepting or simply acting as if none of the bad history had happened. Not to mention the irony of playing an Inquisitor (but I don't need to have that argument again).

As Red mentioned, it's all about expectations. I've never been that interested in combat - it was just something I had to get through on the way to exploring fantasy worlds and stories. I might play the DLC just because the dwarves are bros and I'm nostalgic for DAO's Deep Roads.

I'd heard both good and terrible things about DAI, as for me it wasn't that bad and it wasn't that good either. I'm only disappointed with it. I think I shouldn't hold high expectation in the first place, but don't get me wrong, I do enjoy this game despite my criticism and complaint. I don't mind that our organization become one of the most powerful factions or major player in Thedas in the end. I think you have a good point, if our organization is the answer to every problem, and able to solve all those problems it wouldn't be exciting, and it would ruin the sense of danger posed by your threat, or the sense of urgency posed by the problem that existed in Thedas.

Very true, it's kinda funny how people perspective can switch to the contrast depend on your expectations, whether it's very high, normal or low. I too never been that interested in combat either, but that being said I favor tactical one. However, I think we're on the same mind about how we care about exploring fantasy world, stories and the character most when it's come to Dragon Age or BioWare. I already bought the DLC, but I haven't played it yet. I've plans to run through it sometime in the near future. Aye, the Dwarves, the Dwarven's lore, the Darkspawn and those nostalgic of DAO Deep Roads will call upon us to walk the Deep Roads again.

Actually, I just like the Commoner because it fits the Rogue more... and I like Courtenay Taylor's cocky voice (Jack from ME). It didn't blend well with the Aeducan. Also, it's a rags-to-riches story and all that. But yeah, the Aeducan is the most qualified commander type. I think only them and the Dalish have a real tie in with the darkspawn from the beginning. I like that about them (my main Warden is Dalish).

I won't argue that the Commoner origin fits the Rogue class more, and yeah some voice just don't fit with some origin/type of character. I like Courtenay Taylor's work though. I can see why people would prefer a rags-to-riches or from nobody to hero/nightmare, and an ending to the rise to power story can be extremely satisfying. I think the Aeducan if not the most then it's one of the most qualified commander type. Very true, also only the Mahariel (Dalish) have real tie with the Eluvian, it's quite a shame more people wasn't into the Dwarven Noble or the Dalish origin IMHO.

Actually, my Aeducan Warden was pretty silly.. I won't get into all of it. :P

I'm more fond of the Commoner.

You should have seen my nerd action hero Amell. :P

Aye, I know that there's a number of people who prefer "the Commoner" origin more, and I can understand why. I have a special reason for liking my Aeducan enough for him to be (my canon) warden. I just think he's fit perfectly as "Warden-Commander" type or someone who's familiar with political intrigue. Besides, I like how he's pretty much fallen from grace, and not to mention the Exile's theme.

Speaking of the origin for your Warden, I think Cousland is the only origin where you can actually justify having some intense personal feeling against Howe. While in every other origins, Howe is pretty much a thorn in your way, and you couldn't care less about chop his head off and be done with it.

I do recommended Human or Elf origin for DAI.

Oh, I'm sure your Warden was cool as well. Honestly, I do think most people hold a high regard of their very own Warden. I wouldn't say my Aeducan was that awesome, but he has quite a beard. Pfft, Varric's chest hair are the best..really? You sufacer are a bunch of small humans and babies. :P

Have you like the Titan?

Indifferent, Red. I don't hate the Titan. I welcome new revelation, a new subject on lore. I only hope this DLC will have Kal-Sharok or Grey Wardens involvement. As I said we can explore more on subject that's already existed in already established lore. ;)  Maybe those aren't the point of the Descent, but there's a lot you can invest on a subject that's already existed in established lore. I just thought new subject also brought new question along in a way. That said, don't mistake me for a hater though, I will find joy in killing a load or darkspawn and fighting alongside the bro race, the Dwarves.

Sorry about the late response, Red.

I understand, if I had faith in dragon age inquisition yet, maybe I would be nervous about the DLC, but I had already dropped hope, so when I played, I faced the DLC as a ''D&D quest'' and I was not disappointed, unfortunately it was to be hoped that the inquisition would solve any problem as the Justice League of Thedas. Honestly, for me it was nothing disappointing, I went without expectations , so I was not surprised.

About the Lore question, well, Hakkon was a big hint about the rest.

Aye, my faith in Dragon Age writers team is pretty thin and not strong as it once was. I did bought Digital Deluxe ver of DAI, and two DLCs but even though I haven't played the Descent yet. I've seen a whole play-through of it, and there are things I like in this DLC and things I don't like.

I would say that I have a room for one more DA game, but maybe it's better if you don't have high expectation or high hope from the start. I think the Descent serve as a good dungeon crawler element in DAI, and while I like a bits of revelation on Lyrium, I was hoping they would explore the topic on current established lore and not this new Titan stuff. As for how people liking how the Inquisition become major player of Thedas who people rely on, I can understand that. I myself feel annoyed how the Inquisition able to solve every problems in Thedas, and how other organization or group such as the Grey Wardens, the Templar Order, the Mages, Ferelden's monarch has fallen low or become helpless infant incapable of solving any problem by themselves, and they need the Inquisition to save them or solve their problem for them. To tell you the truth, I like the story with the sense of urgency or one that you can actually lose or not in control of every situation, I think it was well until you reach Skyhold the story lose the sense of urgency or danger.

Well, I actually like a few things in JOH more than the Descent.

Well, you dislike the DLC? tell me more about it.

I envy you as I have to endure some of my friends who's crazy over Frozen as if it's one of the most important discovery in human history. :(

I wouldn't say I hate or dislike it, only disappointed about how they throw the opportunity for Kal-Sharok involvement or Grey Wardens do what they do best fight darkspawn away. I'm more annoyed how the story treat the Inquisition (and you) as the only organization capable of solving every problem, how every problem is now Inquisition's problem and how everyone is pretty much stupid and helpless they need the Inquisition or they're doomed. I'm also annoyed how the story is less realistic than before, apparently we never heard complains about some Inquisition's soldier take advantage of the situation, and the Inquisition is like a force of good or order of white knight come straight out of some fairy tales.

Well, let it go *frozen* say good bye to Wardens, THEY ARE DEAD O_O -NNNNNNNNNNNNN

One of the most if not the most overrated Disney movies ever IMHO. No they aren't, but apparently BioWare barely care about their own lore...the order have fortress and presence throughout Thedas, and apparently there's infighting and the order is on the verge of extinction because only the Inquisition can save the world, and they're answer to every problem in Thedas. :/

That could just be text formatting for my phone but that doesn't resemble any European language I ever bothered to glance at after learning the two I speak fluently...
