This doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense. Trespasser was announced to be the end of the DAI DLC cycle, just as Citadel was announced to be the end of the ME3 DLC cycle. And Shadow Realms is not the unannounced IP.
OT: anyone else catch Undead Han's kamikaze run on the ME:A board?
I forgot about the other 2 dlc, to be honest. I was thinking they had just made Trespasser and found that rather sketchy on its own. Right, but it was cancelled and the unannounced IP remains unannounced which I don't think is a good sign.

Nope. Same old, same old.
Did they take offense at the implication that BioWare is going to share the fate of Origin System, Bullfrog, Westwood etc?
BioWare has at least 3 more years in it before EA will get rid of it completely. They two very well established IPs with Dragon Age and Mass Effect, both will get a new game in the foreseeable future. SW:TOR is still going strong (or at least it still makes a profit), so that's not going anywhere either. Then there's this new IP they have in development.
So yeah. It's the end times ... but only for the forum.
I disagree with this, but we shall see. I think Andromeda will be their last game and the reason is that they haven't talked about any future titles. We knew of Shadow Realms or whatever it was called, but that got cancelled a few months back. Usually we know of DLC that is on the way before their next release hits, but yet, there is none for Inquisition beyond the released Trespasser DLC. I hope you are right though, because I'd like to have more titles to potentially play.

Crimson thinks this is a good question, Crimson is also feeling a tad peckish right now.
Vroom is happy to see that more people are starting to refer to themselves in third person. Vroom wants to take credit for this trend as he has been doing this consistently for the last couple of years, but alas, it was not Vroom that set this trend

(Vroom is feeling goofy today)

Should have gone with Shredder, to be honest.
Try harder next time!
If Vroom had any applicable skills, Vroom would have photoshopped the Cobra Commander blastshield over Shredder's helmet and repainted his armor to be blue and grey so that the best of both worlds could be had. Vroom's art skills leave much to be desired and may have been responsible for the death of many:

Oddly enough, most of my experiences on these here forums have been pleasant. What kept me coming here were genuinely helpful people who helped each other through the buggier parts of the DAO romances. Before mods 'n patches, Zevrans in particular was kinda borked. There was some complaining, but mostly there was a great deal of mutual aid and an outpouring of fan produced work in mods, art and guides. Each game following has had much the same, more for some and less for others. In between releases, the forums games in Off Topic flourished. If you followed the music threads then you wound up exposed to an awful lot of good music and heavy metal
.
TL:DNR My experience here has been overwhelmingly positive. Which is both good and kinda sad at this point.
There is still time to change that, mwahahahaha

(I couldn't find the gif that I wanted because life is hard sometimes, but Vroom was going to post a gif of either Cobra Commander or Shredder shaking his fist at you)

I have a question for the owners/developers of the alternate sites.
I write fanfiction that I also update in fanfiction.net and archiveofourown. However, I also have what I consider more of a scrapbook/diary for one of my Inquisitors, Jasmine's Journal. I can't mirror it on the other sites because text and images are interspersed. I don't like to leave things unfinished, but even if I weren't trying to finish my current fanfic before the site closes I still wouldn't have time to finish. It takes time to go through the screen shots and format them the way I want for each entry. Will any of your sites allow me to update JJ in the same fashion?
I am looking into alternate means of sharing, I just thought I'd ask. No rush, I know you are already working hard.
Thank you.
Yes, it should work out fine.
As a writer I encourage writing and enjoy reading things, therefore my site has a User Writings section. If you would like to, you can post Jasmine's Journal on there and I can give you some feedback on it after this whole mess with BSN Prime shutting down ends (maybe even before then).
I'd really love having someone else that likes writing on hand to discuss and share writings with, but no pressure or hard feelings if you don't wish to come to VSN ![]()

With the amount of times I get accused of censorship, being in a place where that isnt even in the realm of possibility has an appeal. But that is just me personally.
Thank you so much for taking time to answer questions. I don't know if I ever properly thanked you way back when you popped in on VSN, but thanks. I appreciate it and I'm wishing you the best (no ill will towards the developers in general on my end).

It's really not. In terms of per capita "toxicity", social media, tumblr, reddit, i.e the sites BioWare wants to funnel us towards, are easily more toxic to the point of being radioactive cancer. It's just that the format of a forum implies equal exposure of opinion regardless of who you are. Which means that criticism or "toxicity" is more difficult to remove from view without strong moderation. With tumblr, you risk opening yourself to harassment if you are "toxic" and with reddit, "toxicity" is buried thanks to their upvote system and ridiculous formatting. Social media too, blockbots, so you can automatically silence people who are "toxic". And most of these measures are done independently, they are self moderating features.
Really, it isn't about toxicity in any genuine sense, it's about optics. I think that BioWare's lack of attention and care to cultivate a potentially powerful brand in the BSN should mean that they ought to destroy it. It's an eyesore for their branding. Their own official forums masterminded and drove the shitstorm that was the ME 3 endings. I'm not surprised BioWare is kicking this forum to the curb. They don't get money from it directly, and it's reputation as a cheerleading hub is ravaged.
We're the worst cheerleaders ever ![]()

No problem. As someone who admins a ProBoard forum, I'd like to say that as far as I know, anyone who admins on such boards cannot see a user's password, but we can see a user's Email Address and IP Address, so that's something for all to keep in mind when joining such forums (would still recommend a different password too, just in case).

It's not just a few fans, though. Not once you take into account all those people who scoured the threads for answers to 'help desk' type questions. Just because everybody doesn't post doesn't mean the forums aren't used. Maybe an archive costs money, but is it more money than additional help personnel or a new help library? I do not consider myself an avid poster, in fact, except for the last few days I consider myself about 65-70% lurker or browser, and much of that to find answers to questions.
Not very. Recently I decided to tweet a pre-announcement post, a short one. Took 18 tweets to get it all . . . I'm probably blocked now but I don't know for sure.
Color me clueless but I don't know what you mean by credentials. I'm assuming you don't mean my user name.
He/she means same password and username used in tandem or password and the same email as used on here together.

The funny part is that Erik Kain (from Forbes) was basically the BSN's biggest defender in the ME3 debacle. He wrote a good 20 articles or so, over the course of months, defending fans and calling out Bioware's duplicity.
So if he's changed his tune now, it's probably for the hits. Can't blame the guy - he got Forbes a metric ton of free traffic for a long time, despite only being a contributor.

Just want to remind people, don't use your BW/EA/Origins credentials on non-official BW/EA sites/forums.
I would like to add that Mail.com is a great place to go to make throwaway emails. It costs nothing and they don't require personal details such as a cell phone number.

I mean can anyone even remember when you said something because you actually felt that way, like, I like pie? And it didn't have to be run pass the hipster bull censorship social media community or be part of some complicated scheme?
I mean talk about censorship, this place was the absolute apex of that, violated every conceivable fundamental law known to humanity, and for what? Because a few people had feelings of powerlessness?
Plus the death of White Knighting, that will be awesome, too many good things. I hate that some hardcore Bio BSN fans are affected, but while the short term suffering is possibly great, the long term consequences will be more beneficial and outweigh the harm.
I've been able to speak fairly freely here as long as I don't curse (their board, their rules, so me and my pottymouth is fine with that), heck, I still don't have any warning points, but I think that's because they don't know that this car is sentient and are off looking for the driver
If you mean on the community/user side of things, well, I've found that adding the little blurb 'in my opinion' allows me to get away with saying pretty much whatever I want as long as it isn't hateful, derogatory, or excessively stupid (let's not pretend that ol VroomVroom doesn't post stupid things sometimes). The White Knighting has never really been much of an issue for me because I just chose to ignore the posts and instead addressed the people that I thought would provide a good conversation.
This place is a lot like the Mos Eisley cantina from Star Wars; there is some scum and villainy, but there is also a lot that will catch your interest. Be careful and respectful and you'll be fine (though a good blaster at your side definitely helps).

Thanks to whoever pinned this thread.
I swear, Jeremiah is probably a wizard. He mentioned something about this thread being pinned this morning and presto.
T'was Conal that pinned it; he mentioned doing it in the main thread. I just thought I'd mention that because I don't believe he's a bad guy that wants us all to be left twisting in the wind like I've seen a couple of posters try and make him out to be.

Theres also a ton of ridiculous nonsense with time-turners (which still exist because **** you) allowing the main characters to go back decades and create alternate realities, despite time-turners not working that way. Plus just generally **** characterization of older characters.
Here is confirmation of what byne is saying: the plot involving the Time-Turners contradicts the very laws of magic Rowling herself created for how they function.
The image was taken from the very official online source for Harry Potter: Pottermore.
Spoiler
Ugh, and now I'm glad that I'm short on money and was unable to afford the book at release. I must admit that I was really skeptical of someone other than Rowling writing a 'sequel' and it is quite saddening to hear that it has turned out how it did. Normally I'd read something before judging, but I can already tell that I want nothing to do with it based upon the information of there being more

Yeah, I'm saying if the current state of TOR is them actually putting effort into it, it doesnt bode well. There hasnt been really any group content in a year or so, just short mediocre story bits every month.
I gotcha now. I figured that's what you were saying but then your comment about paying for a sub confused me (not knocking on that, that's your decision and money and I respect that). I played SWTOR for a year and a half to a couple of years, from launch day. They kinda got on my bad side right away with all them server merges, saying the class story content wasn't sustainable as early as the Rise of the Hut Cartel expansion despite that being a major part of their promotion for the game, and then scrapping their original plans in regards to the Sith Emperor
Also, giving him a new voice actor as opposed to sticking with Pinhead from Hellraiser, that didn't sit right with me. Final straw from this Collector's Edition buyer (I have buyer's remorse, please don't verbal jab me about it) was when they announced Free to Play. Oh, and launching without a group finder!
So, I agree with you and would have agreed with you as early as four or five years back, haha.
