#19497099 [Gallery] Finished Works

Posté par QweenBeen sur 31 juillet 2015 - 10:29 dans Cullenite Beginner Artists Group

Thanks, Vor :) I doodled for a bit yesterday and think I found a figure pose that I could steadily work on. But it is just about picking up that pencil no matter what! ;)

Wow wow wow, it's been so long since I've drawn but everyone's work here and in WIP is amazing!! Everyone is continuously challenging themselves to and its very noticeable! No beginners here! ;) I've been a silent observer waaaay too long, i miss the therapeutic peacefulness when drawing. I'll pick up that pencil again and be months behind you all, but everyones work is too inspiring not too try! :)

Okay so I'll admit I can't figure out where I've seen that little creature of cuteness, but its sooooooo cute, Ceru! I do love the balloons but I really love the way it's holding on to the string :) her pose is perfect, like she's in mid swing and just about to swing back. It's hard to make a relaxed pose and she's not stiff at all, letting the wind take her :) Awesome, Ceru!

Vor - the little touches of color look great! He looks amazing, also a perfect pose in mid-flight! :D

Oh wow, your shading looks great! I love the elongated shadows you did that really emphasize the stretched pose :) the accents in color would be a nice subtle touch too!

Lol that's not cheating, that's observing, Ceru :) and you're very good at it!

I have the non-copy blue and it's not too shabby! Erases really well so I'll keep playing with it. The pastels are fun but reeeeaally different than charcoal. I think I'm gonna start with a run of the mill flower first...face laaaast  ;)

True, I googled the use of blue pencils, and they're usually used because scanners can't pick it up? I also read it erases clean and is harder to see under other mediums, so I figure I'll try it under soft pastels, my next adventure :)

Ooo Cullen is looking Skyrim ready! He looks great, and you are really get a hang of that foreshortening, particularly with the armor!

Aaaahh Pnug!! Sooo cute :) I bet Cullen would love it because it's so adorably awkward...

And hey, I ordered myself some blue prisma colored pencils after seeing these, Ceru. :) I get so nervous with my construction lines being too dark that I take forever to draw them, especially since they're so important to get right! I'll let you know how I do ;)

Ooo that would require me eating the box of chocolates, right?? ;) what a shame...

Great idea for keeping tidy! That or another piece of paper seems to work too.

Edit: Looks like you have some good reading there too :D I'm reading the Time of Contempt at the moment.

I use a long willow stick, as they're pretty thin and if you're further away from the tip, it draws lighter. It's definitely a messy medium as the side of my hands can show, and I haven't quite mastered it myself. I kind of like the messy though, but only sometimes :D it's not for everyone, of course! Use what you feel comfortable with and have fun with, Ceru! You're drawings are improving so quickly, what you're working with is working super well for you ;)

@ Vor - glad to hear you liked the charcoal :) I'm so new to this too but I'm glad you're enjoying the same thing!

@ceru - lovin' lavellan ;) his proportions look great and I agree with Vor on those eyes. Is that Masterwork Prowler armor bu chance? My fav :) Would his chest plate be a lot shiner than the rest of the leather and such?

I really miss drawing, haven't done it for some time. I'm playing TW3 now and taking tons of screenies so I hope I have a good fighting, monster killing stance I can draw soon :)

Wow, I'd never seen that video before, Vor...powerful dance for a powerful song...thank you for sharing!

Your sketches look great! He is in complete control of every muscle in his body and you've captured it really well. Awesome job challenging yourself!

Great to see you guys back! Congrats on you move, Tesh, slow and steady on the unpacking ;) And Ceru <3 :D

I started figure drawing and really loved Prokos tutorials first on gesture and he's just starting to upload his anatomy for artist series. Maybe he'll help, Ceru? I have found that learning to draw from text books blows right over my head. I personally need to see a video, because even the way to hold the pencil or the movement of the hand is a part of the lesson ;)

Thanks all for the metal drawing suggestions. I might practice just that for a while before attempting her back!

 <3 hodor.

There's so much about high fantasy fashion that's exciting! It was a big 'ol missed opportunity with quizzy's outfit. When fantasy fashion becomes real fashion, I'm sure you'll be all over it! ;)

I really wanna draw this actually, just her back and the snake but it's metal...and that frightens me
Spoiler

As for Cullen...oh I shan't go there...it may involve just an Orlesian sash...

Good suggestion, maybe I'll use my computer monitor. Did you practice alot with gesture first? Any recommendations on source stock images? I need to check out deviant, I heard there's lots of models there but there's soooo much to sort through!

Your quick sketches are my finished works ;) you have a great sense of fashion design, I like all three! Including Cullen turning his fur cape into a fur man-skirt. kidding!....but a girl can dream

Let me know how you like the charcoal! Yay messy!! I like drawing the structure and placing the features with graphite, I feel more in control, but then to shade with willow is fun fun!

Wow Vor, she looks great! Yay, curvey!! The shading in her back and her hiney have a great three dimensional effect!

I wanna try! She looked like fun :D

Lol, I'd agree Vor, I'd pick DAO Alistair over Cullen, and DAI Cullen over Alistair any day...he definitely needed more of the facial expressions I'd come to love, such as:

It's so hard to find a vanilla alistair on the web these days!!

Mor, Alistair looks great! Maybe a little more volume to his hair would be good? And yeaaah, Geralt is yummy and badass in witcher3 and I'm screenshoting him every 5 minutes :) I imagine a portrait of him is in my future! :D I haven't drawn a thing for longer than I care to admit because im obsessed with this game!

Vor, shes looking great!! Her musculature in her back shows well! How are you liking the willow charcoal? I love the dramatic effect of the background against her. One of the Proko videos I saw had him filling in the background with powdered charcoal so it's even and not so labor intensive

That link has more info on it, maybe you'll enjoy it! I haven't tried it for myself yet :D
