#19590908 Why all the Hate with the Combat System of DAI?

Posté par BlauPauh sur 22 août 2015 - 03:19 dans General Discussion (NO Spoilers)

Agreed. I feel like they had to find the middle ground on a lot of issues, but they got that right.

The "When x then y" tactics are the only thing I really miss from DAO, however.

Ah, yeah, I read that in other comments too. For me that just wasn't an issue because I played Inquisition before the other two, but after playing all three I get why people would miss that.

I completely agree with you. I would even say it's my favourite combat system of all games I've played and I have played both, complete action based, and complete strategy based. They combined the two in a way I couldn't imagine getting any better and I want to play more of it!

#19133292 Worth playing before DA:I?

Posté par BlauPauh sur 15 mai 2015 - 10:41 dans General Discussion

I played it after DA:I because I wanted to play all games of this series and I really like some of the characters. It's enjoyable, but you may have high standards after DA:O and DA:I, in that case you should probably play it first, those two are definetly better(in my opinion). Also, if you play it first you might encounter things in DA:I that make you think "Ah, how nostalgic...". The other way around like in my case would be "Ah! That's what that was...".

#19040486 Why people complain about the combat in this game?

Posté par BlauPauh sur 27 avril 2015 - 02:39 dans General Discussion

I like the combat from every Dragon Age game, but in DAO I was frustrated when an enemy just picks me up and I have no chance to get free, at least give me a chance. I always play two handed (not in DA2) and it was very slow which is fine, but when you are slow AND miss sometimes that's frustrating. How can you miss with a big ass swort?

I love the combat in DA:I the most because I can scan the whole fighting area. I can tell a companion bevorehand who to attack without waiting because they stand behind a corner and I can't choose a target. My warrior can actually hit multiple targets which makes sense. I can revive my people, which I like because I have a chance to turn the battle around. Or die trying.

I think my only real problen is that I played DA:I first and I find the combat so much better.

Also hader doesn't necessarily mean more interesting.

#18973615 Warrior mages

Posté par BlauPauh sur 13 avril 2015 - 03:22 dans Lore Discussion

It would kinda defeat the purpose of being a mage though if they chose to fight with greatswords, though that would remove any suspicion from templars. It never made any sense to me how mages could walk around Thedas in robes and with a huge staff and the templars were none the wiser about it lol. Bioware could easily make a very interesting mage companion or npc in the dragon age universe by giving him a weapon and heavy armour, his story could basically be him hiding from the templars from a young age so his father taught him sword play.

Yeah, something like this is what I thought, or that some people just choose sword over spells because they enjoy fighting like that. I guess I don't mean a full fleged mage, rather than a person who just never trained their powers. Every guy with magic powers I meet is automatically a mage. I know it's most convenient, but I was just wondering about that.

Oh wow, I didn't even see that I was given so much information here, thanks, but that's not actually what I meant. I know battlemages exist and arcane warriors and that they can wear armor, what I mean is "mages", people who could use magic, but actually use none at all. Just because they don't want to or whatnot. People who are without magical talent have no choice but to choose a skill set without magic (though the post above me is interesting, I didn't know that). But "mages" can.

#18969614 Can we just say this? DA:I is the best RPG I have ever played.

Posté par BlauPauh sur 12 avril 2015 - 05:43 dans Feedback & Suggestions

... well the title only states that it's the best RPG the person who opened this thread has ever played. I don't see why not agree with that. I have never played better ones either and I was overwhelmed. Before this, I thought Skyrim had story... not saying that people who like the Skyrim story are wrong, I just played it for other reasons. I read a post that said some people live by the lore of GW2. Not playing that game for story either. Still like it very much. DA:I just made me fall for Dragon Age lore and DAO made my appreciation deeper. Still... I have a special love for DA:I because it's my first RPG that made me really care. Somehow that game just did it for me, but that's just personal taste.

Even I clouded by my rosy feelings have things I would find better if done this or that way, or things that I hope will be even better in the next game. But that's the thing, I'm really hoping for a next game.

I am wondering if there are Mages that choose to fight with a greatswort. I've never seen one, or rather heard from any character that is a warrior ,but coud use magic. Fenris has some powers, but they are from his marks.

#18894423 Delete group

Posté par BlauPauh sur 30 mars 2015 - 08:33 dans BioWare Forum/BSN Help

I accidentally made multiple versions of the same group and I would like to delete the ones that i accidentally made. Is there a way? Sorry if it's easy and I just didn't see it.

PS: Found it sorry!

#18894254 Can we just say this? DA:I is the best RPG I have ever played.

Posté par BlauPauh sur 30 mars 2015 - 07:30 dans Feedback & Suggestions

You CAN'T skip them. At least not that I've found. And I also found the sex scenes in inquisition to be less tasteful than previous games. There is absolutely no reason that sex scenes should be that explicit in a video game. It's just weird.

And Geralt is not always saved by a woman. Most of the women in the games are useless and serve only as screw fodder or damsel in distress roles for him.

Well, in DA:I I have only seen two of the possible "sex scenes" but they were not explicit at all... they kiss and then it fades out black. And after they're done they talk while naked, but I don't find that offensive. DAO was more explicit. But I like it anyway, so I might be a bit insensitive to it.

I am so in love with this game! I have never been so attached to any game character as I am to my Inquisitor. I love to see his story unfold, his friendship with Cassandra, his romance with Dorian! I have never played a so emotionally captivating ever... I was completely blown away.

And it looks just absolutely gorgeous. Also the fighting system is really fun. I have many games where I like the combat, but DA:I is definetly one of the best, if not the best. Sure nothing is perfect in the actual sense but what is. After I played this, I bought DA:O and DA 2, I really can say Bioware has my complete and utter respect for all of the games I've played so far, but I still find Da:I was above everything I could have ever imagined. I'm not saying that there is nothing to improve. One should always work on making things better (whatever that means is different from person to person). All this is my opinion and I'm happy if people agree, but they don't have to.
