it happens with most games.
Does it really though. Or just those that were a mess to begin with.

That's really shitty but somehow it makes me giggle too, just... it probably took the guy forever to make three fake accounts and somehow get around your pm block... just to tell you you're wasting your time... because he does not quite like the thing you do... The genius of it! It's like taking a ten hour bus trip to some random person, ring the doorbell, tell them they stink, and drive back.

Okay so maybe everyone but me already knows about this program, or maybe it's not necessary for DAI, but i just found this little tool https://technet.micr...ernals/ff700229
When modding Skyrim i often had the problem that after restarting the game when i had changed meshes or textures, it would CTD. And it seems that had to do with the difference between the changed file and the file windows had still stored in the "Standby RAM". With this program you can clear that RAM without having to restart your PC, so that's neat ![]()

Got in this time, thanks Renmiri! How come they let people sign up again?
Does anyone have the DAI modding tool version 1.15? If so can some one link me to it pls?
EDIT:
Ok so I re-installed Windows 7 (in English) installed DAI (in English) , installed VS 2013, .NET Framework version 4.5 and Slim SDK
The DAI Modding tool opens fine but when i go into da3>actors>baseheads>hair and click on one of the hairs to view assets and then when the window pops up the preview button is disabled as well as the import and export button. I downloaded version 1.26 of the DAI Modding Tool
Also when i go into hair the assets look different then i remember from the previous tool... do i need a different version of VS or something? Please some one help im trying to make hair meshes
So sorry you lost your previous work, somebody help Adela please! HAIR!

Right. This camels back ahs been broken. Bad enough that I've had tpo resprt to being a weirdo playing the game as a photoshoot sim with a spectacularly gorgeous quizzie... but now the bloody game is ruining his carefully crafted wardrobe! And of all things, his BOOTS!

I've had that too I thought it was just me I know your pain
That's maybe the only thing that works as intended in the game, your clothes (especially pants and boots) get dusty after a while, specially back in Haven. The dust is supposed to come of after some time tho.

You don't need to check the box, just press the hotkey [num1] or [num8]. This plays the banter one at a time and is how I use it (I use a DS4 controller so my hotkey is left dpad).
If you want to hear a bunch in a row, then yes you can check the box and then press the hotkey.
Oooh... well that option never occured to me. Thanks again!

Cheat Engine Table (MediaFire download)
- Banter Trigger only
- Combined DAI Table* (v45) + Banter Trigger
Spoiler
Here is the manual banter trigger I mentioned earlier. I tested it for a few hours with my current character and it works well for me at least (tried different save points, zones, parties, ect).
So triggering party banter in DAI seems to be based on a countdown timer. When the value of the timer is 0 it will trigger the banter (most of the time, but not always) and restarts the timer back to ~600-900 sec (randomly in that range).
The pointer I used will sometimes give a different address, another countdown timer, once the banter timer hits 0. The pointer returns to the banter timer address after the other timer reaches 0 (most of the time). I'm not 100% sure what the other timer(s) is (usually 5-120 sec) but I believe it may still related to the banter somehow. There maybe a better pointer to use if someone can find it.
This trigger only works in areas where you can get random banter normally (i.e. not in prologue, haven, skyhold, val royeaux, redcliffe, combat, some dungeons, ect...) and if banter is still available (didn't use them all for your current party). Also, from what I can tell, banter is broken in The Western Approach or at least in the starting area I tested (I'm using patch 4).
I would wait at least 2-3 seconds between hotkey presses and you may need to press it a few times before the banter starts. This is because the banter doesn't always play when the timer reaches 0, which is probably one of the reasons you can go long periods without banter in the game, and the pointer gives the address to the other timer(s) sometimes.
I have very little experience with CE, so forgive me if this doesn't work or I'm wrong about something. I wanted to try this because I seem to get less banter after patch 3&4. I also like switching my party up very often to hear different banters.
If this doesn't work for a lot of people than someone with more knowledge/skill will need to find a better pointer/method (at least we know it is possible). I'll explain how to manually find the address of the timer if needed.
Maybe someone can create a mod with a shorten timer in the future so CE is not necessary.
*credit to olegbl and others over at the CE forums
If you want to change the hotkey, right click entry and select change hotkey. Default is [num1] for banter only and [num8] for combined table.
PS - As always you should backup your saves first just to be super safe. I also take no responsibility if you run out of banters early in the game because you wanted to trigger them every 2 mins
THANK YOU!!! Love it! It definitely works!

verbal diarrhea
So here's my five cents for once: you should frickin realize this will never be Skyrim. Even when the tools are final, there will only be a handful of modders that are willing to jump through the hoops and create content, and share it too.
Every post like this will make one more of them consider not sharing it with anyone.
You're only hurting yourself.
Simple, ain't it?

Those companion collection quests are the replacement for gifts that were in DA:O and DA:2.
THey have no story element behind them. Each companion has 1/2 story quests and 1 filler quest.
I don't really know what you expected though...it seemed fairly obvious to me that it was just a collection quest..
well iunno what i expected either, i wasn't quite aware it's the equivalent to like Blackwall's Warden items and Dorian's Venatori slapping. Guess i was just a cockeyed optimist expecting some sort of feedback from him, but shoulda known better. At least i can rule out an environmental chat bug now, thanks!

I see that alot of you are getting big issues again after skyhold, i had the same problem, it was fine the 40-ish hours before. Here's one thing to keep in mind:
Unread War Table missions may have the same effect as unread Quests and Codex entries
I'm back to decent banter atm (took a bit tho i think), after unchecking those and keeping up some other blood magic. Here's what i do
-haven't used mounts once
-i only made like ten manual saves, and always load from auto saves
-i try to keep my open quest list short (finished all open stuff in hinterlands, storm coast, etc before opening up new maps)
-exhaust almost all follower/npc dialogue in Haven/Skyhold
-i walk instead of sprint alot to possibly give scripts a chance to catch up
things i used to do but dropped now and still have banter (so far
)
-always offline
-zone from wartable
-never fast travel in maps
i maybe forgetting stuff, not sure
Btw, is anybody else always getting armor sounds after cutscenes in Skyhold, but as soon as you travel somewhere else it's gone again?

Would someone mind explaining a bit on how cheat engine works? There is such a barrage of info, mostly links to download, that I'm rather lost.
Is it like texmod, where it has to run while the game runs? Or is it more like the me3 explorer, where you run it for what you need and your done?
I'm still debating on even trying to use it or not. It seems a bit daunting for me
You can start and close it anytime during your game, it will hook into the memory and let you change stuff. Some changes will stick (gold, influence, perks etc) some are only temp (camera zoom, the walk mod).
I used it three or four times in my current playthrough, still in Haven i cheated some Elven schematics, a bit later i added some perks, and i added some gold twice. Didn't have any side effects so far, and i'm like 70 hours in. Doesn't mean it can't mess you up real bad!

I wouldn't think it'd have a huge effect as we mod at native texture res.
Maybe the fps fluctuations from running things like fraps (or other overlays) have worsened? Just an idea.
Oh i'm sure everyone has modded with the same res, i was more thinking in the lines of compression, but ya just a blind guess

Good morning, all, and forgive me for what may be a stupid question. I was just wondering, for those of you that have updated with the latest patch from yesterday and have been in game, has anyone noticed a drop in fps and some hitching? I updated and remerged, but I was having a slight issue after the first patch last week, as well as last night. I turned off my AVG, thinking maybe it was memory, although I've yet to have that kind of issue before. I do have several mods merged, mostly just the face and PJ textures, the eyes, and I believe the Halimshiral finery retexture. Could it be an overload of modded textures?
I have even tried turning my gpu settings down to 'balanced' rather than 'quality' save for the mesh setting that I have on Ultra. I had no issues before the patch last week, but I was also using fewer texture mods.
I haven't updated yet, actually i can't find the patch notes, anyone? It's not in the patch thread.... SWW, you know about the perfoverlay.drawfps command right? Maybe check that with mods enabled and disabled? If you have low video memory (like me QQ) it's quite possible that textures affect performance alot
