Yeah I loved the guy, so I've never made him tranquil or send him to the circle but I was trying to think of all the things that could happen to him and I just don't remember. I might have to go back and do a replay but I don't think he can end up dead right? We need someone of his caliber to help with Solas. Also, I'm not sure but can dreamers sense other dreamers in any way? I hope not <.<

It can often be difficult to tell the difference between malicious and lampooning on the internet.  The lack of tone, plus the fact that images and injokes can get circulated without captions or context make it very different from TV.

Yeah, which is why I think if people have an issue with what they see they should ask for clarification before getting defensive and assuming horrible things about the OP. It turns a misunderstanding into a huge mess. Which again, is another reason I prefer the thread to the tumblr fandom. Outside a few isolated incidents, everyone here seems to like discussion, and so if they don't get something they ask or just ignore, rather than personally attack and I think that's neat.

I get what you're saying but often people can get defensive if they don't get that things are injokes, or said in good fun.  Respecting others in the fandom is important, and it goes both ways.

 

It definitely goes both ways. I always think the best course of action if someone doesn't get a joke is to politely ask the artist/writer to clarify their meaning, rather than lodge personal attacks against the creator. Which is what I'm seeing a lot of today, and why I brought it up. Myself and most of the artists I know on Tumblr love it when people come to them and ask them questions about the art, jokes and writing they create. I know if someone doesn't get my thought process or intent behind a piece I absolutely looove to break it down for them.

I missed where they said this, so this is exciting news for me. He's old and has sooo much life experience. I can only imagine how many layers of personality he's built up during his long life. I can see him shedding that quiet attitude he adopted during Inquisition and bringing forth his more intense nature that you get a glimpse of at the Winter Palace and his personal quest.

I'm excited to see what he can really do.  I like hobo solas but I think I'm going to like angry-god more. Like I love the idea of the Pantheon and what happened to them. And also my headcanons of the pantheon and his most glorious and holy June!!!!

Oh lordy yes. Angry god Solas with a mission would be hot. I tend to be biased when it comes to dark magical lords though.

But yes, I'd like to see him get really intense to achieve whatever goal he's set for himself. He's left the Inquisition, so I'm hoping there's no need for him to try to blend into the background anymore. Like step your sexy self forward and take control, buddy.

For me, I guess that would depend on the circumstances, though as much as possible I'd want her to live because I love my Lavellan to bits.

The funny thing is - I really did enjoy the romance and I love his character overall. Like he's fascinating and very sad -- the whole thing about the lost empire.  *cries*.  But I do want to make fun of it sometimes. It's something I love. And I'm looking forward to unpacking the "what's next".  Here though. Not...*out there*.  On the tumblr, I will continue to pandering to my hardcore fans of James Spader who follow me. 

Yeah, it's nice how relaxed this thread tends to be, especially when you compare it to the outside fandom. Discussion may get heated at times, but there's no name calling or personal attacks like you see on Tumblr etc.

And yes, even with the crazier side of the fandom he's still my favorite romance at the moment. I've gone through a few of the others and they just don't leave much of an impression on me. Solas has his issues, and I think that's what makes him such a great character. I'm really looking forward to how they expand on his story in the DLC. From what I was reading it seems like they're setting him up, or at least his story, to be something that spans a few more games. Which might suck for Solavellans, but for me it means we might see more of him in the future and that's exciting. Also more Solas brings more opportunities for the Pantheon.

Oh, that's my bad.  Text over internet fails.  The "devs owe me this" has been reiterated seriously so many times on this forum and other places I missed the joke - meaning I couldn't read you were being jocular .  

Yeah, I can see why you might take that the wrong way. As much as I love Solas I am thinking about dropping his tag until Trespasser is out and things have calmed down a bit. There's like a band of ultra rabid fans just ripping into anyone who makes a joke about the romance, or doesn't take it super seriously. It's so weird to me. People play the game in all sorts of interesting and unique ways. Where one person might be super srz about it, another might've only seen the romance as something fun and temporary. It's upsetting to see all the people attacking the ones who would just like to have a bit of fun with their video game fandom. I guess it goes back to respecting other peoples' headcannons, something I know we've talked about here in the Solas thread a loooot haha. I'll probably keep hardcore stalking this thread though, since I don't really see any of those negative attacks here. (Plus I can get all my Solas art fix here thanks to Sunny and NightSymphony)

The spoiler tag only hides the text/picture. When you load the page, it loads all pictures and texts regardless of whether or not it is in a spoiler tag. I know this because I once posted a ridiculously large gif under spoiler tags and it broke that particular page even if you didn't open the spoiler. Never seen the Solas thread freak out that fast. It was all I could do to get to the edit button and delete it while my computer lagged along.

Would Solas wear ripped jeans in the fantasy 80's hairmetal band that Geralt is clearly a part of?  I think not. It would be like leopard print spandex with boots. 

With as tight as Solas likes his pants in game, I could see him going for total Bowie spandex in the game husbando 80s band. I'm not sure if he'd wear leopard print though, 'cause of the potential cat vs dog thing. He would also give Geralt a run for his money in the pure leather pants of Queen.

Ok it's canon that Geralt is an amazing Gwent player "LOOK TO HIM AS A GWENT AFCINADO"(actual line from the game) - Also My geralt was fantastic. Husting every merchant and small child from White Orchard to Skellige. 

 

I think Solas would be pretty solid but I think Geralt would be tough to beat. Also I think Solas would get distracted when Geralt randomly took his shirt off to get pumped.

If you don't know what Gwent is....look it up because I can't copy paste, but it's like magic the gathering but better and more awesome.

That's a toughy. I feel like Solas would be a mean Gwent player with the way he cleans up in Wicked Grace. But at the same time Geralt, the most beautiful, sensitive man ever created,... spends his days collecting some really rare Gwent cards. And with all this traveling and card duels he would be a tough opponent for a beginner like Solas.

I'm not going to stop sharing art just because it has some boobies or arse. It's art..look at Michelangelo's David.  Yes..I am comparing Solas art to a masterpiece. :-P
