It's a hilarious article, loaded up with Mass Effect (and a few Dragon Age) GIFs about playing a new RPG for the first time. Has anyone else seen it?
Also, I couldn't help but chuckle at the school that this article came from.

Nothing.
ME - Ehhh, it wasn't a great game, but it wasn't a terrible game. I enjoyed it. I felt like Bioware was really trying at least.
DA:O was outstanding. I cried at the end of it because I was so sucked into the game.
DA:II - I actually enjoyed this game. I refer to it like a cult classic. Even though EA made Bioware push out a game too quickly, it still had some of the Bioware flavor.
Recently....
ME3 I really felt the effects of EA seep in. It felt like they were trying to appeal to FPS players more and it ruined the RPG feel. It felt hollow. However I did LOVE the co-op multiplayer.
DAI I despised. It felt like they were trying to appeal to other fantasy RPG games by making it a Skyrim copy-cat. However, Bethesda and Bioware each have their own strengths. Bethesda's lies in making beautiful and expansive worlds and Bioware's in amazing storylines and character development. When Bioware tried to make a Skyrim-esque game, they lost the effect of their storylines and the character development was lost in repetitive and identical fetch quests. Not to mention, if the game forces you to do X number of their side-quests before you can continue...you have a problem. At least make the mandatory side-quests different in every realm. Desert? Close the rips to the fade to continue. Farmland? Close the rips to the fade to continue. Swamp? Guess what, close the rips to the fade to continue.
I honestly feel like MEA will be just like DAI and I'm very sad. I loved Bioware games. I'm still gonna buy it because I'm addicted. Like an addict, the drug dealer gets you hooked on the good stuff, and then once your addicted you'll buy whatever crappy stuff he peddles at you.

My friend sent my a link to the article:

Then I watched the trailer:

I had a period of grieving afterwards once I realized MEA was probably going to be DAI: Sci-Fi Edition, Now with Extra Fetch Quests:

Then to add salt in the wound, Bethesda's trailers looked amazing:

Then I realized what voicing our opinions on the games here is:

But in the end, I am far too addicted to the Bioware games and I'll buy whatever they peddle at me, so I feel like this towards MEA:

I'm far too cynical based on what they've done to ME3 and DAI to be too excited.

I mean seriously Bioware? Watch the trailer from :11 to :20 and tell me that doesn't look exactly like the Western Approach from DAI.
I have little hope for this game, it's being pushed out too quickly and therefore is going to look beautiful, but be full of glitches and bugs and ultimately feel flat.
I am holding out a small inkling of hope that it won't be like DAI and that it's not:
1. Have an awesome main quest.
2. Grind through the identical side quests until you can purchase another awesome main quest and by that point you've almost forgotten why you're doing the main quest.
3. Repeat.
That and I am hoping for interesting side quests. Mass Effect, in my opinion, has always beaten Dragon Age in the realm of better side quests and I'm praying that EA doesn't turn ME into "Run around Tuchanka and collect 5 Varren hearts to level up your gun."
I'm also hoping we get to see more of Bioware's great writing, I feel like dialogue and companion bonding got pushed to the side for more action, fighting, and special moves. This includes romances, I hate DA's "PUSH THE HEART TO GET SEX" way of going about it. We're not stupid, I know saying, "Hey, your mandibles are cute," is flirty and saying, "Go away dextro-bird man," is mean. I like having a little freedom to flirt when I wanted to and not having to click the initiate romance choice every time.
Alas, I feel like these are nothing but wishes. I'm still going to buy the game because I'm a Bioware junkie who needs a fix, and honestly, isn't that all the EA cares about?

Story, Campaign & Characters
Sarcastic Rogue Hawke is my favorite playthrough, both in the technical and immersion aspect. I agree with everyone that a rogue, and the way the game tends to portray your rogue companions, tends to give off the air of being sneaky and good at going unnoticed so it would make sense that a rogue Hawke would be able to hide Bethany for so long.
Mage Hawke just annoys me storywise. Who wouldn't notice the giant band of staff carrying, robe wearing, fighters? Hawke may have had the status for Meredith to ignore it for Act 1 and Act 2, but Act 3 when she went super nuts? No way would she be okay with a politically powerful mage running around. Also, during the fight with the Arishok? The public who has been fed propaganda to believe mages are evil and dangerous are just gonna be cool with Mage Hawke?
Even having Anders in my party made me feel weird, at least they kind of addressed when you would bring him into the Gallows.
Side note: I love their lampshading of the mages wearing robes while on the run in Awakening with Anders.

Thanks y'all, I'll use Origin for my DA games.
Errrm... Is this a trick question?
Inquisition isn't available on Steam. In fact, no major EA game has been made available on Steam since Valve started requiring that all DLC for any game distributed through Steam had to be made available there, which EA was unwilling to do. (Something about that 30% cut and potentially underpricing the DLC compared to Origin...)
Plus, Inquisition requires an Origin account to activate after install.
I have DAO on Steam. It came with the Humble Bundle.

Mods will work on both versions. I would say use Origin. This way Steam won't get another set of stats from your PT's.
Next time you buy any game check the prices on other digital distribution sites. If the price on steam is not signifficancy cheaper go with any other distributor. If you can buy it for the same price on Steam and Origin, buy it from Origin.
Steam monopoly must be tamed if we don't want to see in the future more of their genius 'ideas' like the last one.
The more competition the better.
When you're looking for some game look for other available distributors. Go to this site and search for that game:
The list of available digital distributors with the current prices should help you to find the best deal.
What was Steam's genius idea? Again, new to the PC gaming world.
EDIT: Oh, wait, you mean the whole modding controversy? Yeah, even I heard about that.

I'm am very new to PC gaming, I'm a tried and true console gamer. I picked up Dragon Age for both Steam and Origins during the Humble Bundle and so I figured I'd ask the PC gamers which version they prefer or which one is better.
I am planning on trying to mod the games, the real only reason I purchased it for PC in the first place. So which program is better for modding the series?

The leaders would have to depend on your DA2 world-state, of course (BioWare got a lot of flak for retconning Anders' possible death in Awakening into a case of mistaken identity after death for DA2, IIRC) but Fenris leading an Anti-Tevinter campaign would be awesome.
Yeah, that's why it's just my headcanon. It'd be sad, yet awesome, to have to go against one of them and possibly have to kill one of them.
I really do hope they bring back Fenris though. I'd say I hope they don't give him the Anders treatment, but seeing as he's already angsty...well let's hope they don't make him worse.

Does anyone have a link to this video?
I was browsing deviantART when I came across a meme where someone had made a joke of the fact that, if you romance Fenris, during the epilogue narration, Varric says everyone's name at once.
For the life of me I cannot find it, maybe I'm googling the wrong thing, maybe I'm an idiot. It's probably the latter.

Personally, I'd just think it would be awesome to have Anders vs Fenris in DA4. Fenris leading an Anti-Tevinter campaign and Anders leading a Pro-Mage campaign and you have to pick a side and then awesomeness ensues.
I realize it will never happen, but I can still dream.

Angel by Theory of a Deadman.
Reason: I heard it in my car the other day and it's stuck in my head.
Also, my Female Human DW Rogue romanced Alistair and they became king and queen and well, it's more of Alistair's view of her and their, but it fits so well.
I’m in love with an angel, heaven forbid

Story, Campaign, and Characters
Sheer talent alone? My Warden, hands down. All of my PC's are female human DW Rogues so they are equal on that.
My Warden (Lithréna Cousland) was noble, and how I had her created in my head, she trained and dueled with her brother quite a lot. With her money and status, she probably had pretty good weapons and opportunities to practice. She was a sarcastic trouble-maker, but she always made time for training.
My Hawke (Nora) trained a lot as well, however she never had the opportunities my Warden had. Hawke also had to help take care of the family and she had a knack for getting into mischief which distracted her.
My Inquisitor (Valiena Trevelyan), being the youngest child, practiced but really she just messed around. Her attitude towards the Inquistion in the beginning was, "I have no idea what's going, and I don't want to do this." That's why she got along so well with Blackwall, she would sneak away from the attention and go hang out in the stables with him because he realized she wasn't cool with all of this and he just let her relax and hang out. Essentially she didn't become proficient with her blades until right before the destruction of Haven/right when they found Skyhold.
I foresee the fight going like this: My Hawke would run her mouth with her snarkiness, my Warden would be sarcastic back and it would escalate until my Warden got fed up and went to town (she had the "violent" voice) on my Hawke. My Inquisitor probably wouldn't get involved though, but if she did, Lithréna would annihilate her.
