#20329446 Explain why the above species shouldn't be in Andromeda (post game)

Shifty looking space cow has enough of my credits to create a whole new Citadel in reaches of dark space. Shifty looking space cow does not need Andromeda

But Combat Drones--- who says they're not a race?! They're cute and I love them.

Well the answer is in the question, combat drones would have developed sentience and be at odds with Council law by the time the trek to Andomeda was even completed.

The reapers (as it was not answered last time it came up)

One with a lot of alien looking vegetation.

You're suppose to be all "but when do we get to Revan, the REAL bad guy, though?"

Krogan were needed for manual labor purposes and just like Shepard, the guys selecting Ark species had to choose between them.

Geth.

#20327023 Only ONE Human Squadmate

0. Player character

1. Asari

2. Turian

3. Salarian

4. Krogan

5. Human

6. New Andromeda race

7. Drell/Batarian/Vorcha/Quarian

Would be ideal. But I think 2 humans and any Salarian crewmember in a strictly non-combative role is what we'll get, which is fine.

#20326991 How's It Going to Feel? (We're the Aliens)

We are going to colonize and settle there, whether the natives like it or not is another story.

That's definitely the attidute my PC will have going into this.

#20324939 No evil twin/family member plot twist for the love of all...

We should be at odds with at least one family member depending on whether we pick Renegade or Paladin, or else what's point of having a family?

#20324931 No Quarians in Andromeda

Or I guess an exile, which I imagine there might be a few of out there.

Quarians are barely allowed on the Citadel. We'd need an exile whose willing to leave his people behind, and despite his exile is the best engineer the money can buy in the galaxy and as such was approached for  the gig. All the same, that would be the handwave so we get to have a Quarian in face of everything we know about the politics of the ME galaxy. And we already get Krogan who are also certainly not there with hopes they'll help repopulate. I really feel we should have a finite number of handwaves to get non-obvious races onboard. Personally I'd rather we get a real Vorcha character for once.

#20324886 No Quarians in Andromeda

what if some were already in andromeda even if they were called back it would take over 100 years to go back. I think they either never get any message or just can't answer the call because it would be of no use if they come back like 300 years after the reaper war.

Quarians go on Pilgrimages to bring things BACK to help the Flotilla. yes, Quarians are top notch when it comes to living longterm in outerspace. Their whole culture is based on serving THEIR flotilla first, which leaving this galaxy forever would not accomplish. Any Quarian on the Ark would either an individual be completely contrary their culture's beliefs, a prisoner or got on by accident/misunderstanding.

#20321528 Old Milky Way grudges resurfacing

Krogan and Salarians/Turians for certainty. I actually would like the Turian/Human conflict you could invoke in the first game, but less so in the second and third too very much still be a thing here. Our crew should make clear Shepard, Wrex and Mordin were the unsual forward thinkers and the Tempest is inevitably crewed by the more ordinary.

#20321507 Journey to Andromeda HIDDEN from Some Races

If any race would've been left out, it's the Krogan. Because you know, Salarians hating them. Also, since the genophage isn't cured when the Ark Ships depart, there is no hope for them anyway at that point. Since there are Krogans onboard (and I no longer believe my own stowaway theory), I think all races will be present.

That's a fair point. If they got enough room to include a pre-genophage Krogan on mission to start a civilisation, they'd have enough room for everyone. Though I still feel it's not in character for any Quarian to agree to going in their own right. And if the Geth are going, I don't want another Legion. I want a Geth ship to be part of fleet they are sending. Don't handwave everything. Make it part of the story.

Terrible thing to admit, but if they just stole the Beam Rifle from Halo 2 I'd be happy.

#20321469 If you made KOTOR 3

Posté par Epyon sur 15 juin 2016 - 09:50 dans Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

I'd have it follow the story of a Sith apprentice, with Dromund Kaas already pre-occupied with a guerilla war led by Revan. Early in the story you are introduced to your potential Sith teammates (and a morality pet here and there), an early mission sends you intercept the Ebon Hawk when it enters Sith space, Exile and a select few other teammates from one and two make up the ships current crew can be obtained by choosing the lightpath, HK and late game companion Revan are obtainable regardless. Revan is supposedly scouting the Sith worlds for a secret project of the Emperor, your Sith master tells you to beat Revan to the punch and obtain it for his personal use. There's a twist involved with the nature of the secret project.

So I'd still borrow a lot from TOR: Revan and TOR, just have Revan and the Exile be competent and Revan be ambigous rather then outright evil or possessed but good.

Or maybe you'd join the crew of a bounty hunter that the Emperor keeps on retainer early in the game, who has Bastila, Mandalore the Redeemer, the Exile and Revan on his list of high value targets in preparation for the invasion and HK-47 joins you as a spy (unbeknownst to the player). The game climaxs being having you take in Revan, him going all Hannibal while in your ships brig then trying to assassinate the Emperor upon delivery.

#20321357 No Quarians in Andromeda

So now we'll have a Quarian who abandoned the Migrant fleet, isn't interested in bringing anything back to help their dying race and thus is not in any way indicative of their culture AND another unique snowflake Geth that doesn't require connection to the hivemind to be intelligent and thus barely qualifies as a Geth at all. MEA's cast's characterisation is already off to a great start.

#20321347 Journey to Andromeda HIDDEN from Some Races

I'm going to be disheartened if Bioware decided to just cut like half of the species out, just because it doesn't make complete sense with this hole Ark...thing. I get that there's going to be newly introduced races in Andromeda, but Bioware established a universe with their original species. It's not going to feel a whole lot like "Mass Effect" if they ditch half of everyone. First things first: the Asari, Salarians, Turians are all obviously coming along probably maybe I hope.

I can understand the Geth not coming along - they did a whole lot of naughty things. And also the red ending. It's not canon, but it was an ending. Apparently the Geth don't like the red one? I forgot why.

Vorcha, Batarians: these are the ugly, evil, gross, outcast races that everyone hates. They can rot in the Milky Way. Who cares, right?

But the Quarians, Krogan, Drell, Volus, Hanar, Elcor - they have to be in Andromeda. Unless Bioware has created like 6+ new races as well as a convincing explanation for that whole alien language translation thing, I can't see this game with them. Oh, and uh, I honestly just want to see a next-gen Quarian.

WE, the players like and get a lot of exposure Tali, Shepard has history with the Batarians, in universe as whole Quarians are at best on even level with Batarians and require far more special needs.

#20321341 Younger Cast in ME4 :(

As long as they are legal and it's our choice the LI's are fine. But the protag needs to be an mature adult. She's gonna be commanding a fully grown Krogan, whose got centuries of experience, that needs to feel realistic.

#20318911 Journey to Andromeda HIDDEN from Some Races

Agreed. Humans, Asari, Salarians, Turians are a given. Volus, Elcor, Hanar and Drell I can see buying their way in. It'd be immensely unrealistic if a Krogan, a Batarian, a Vorcha, a Geth and a Quarian ALL manage to stumble their way into a seat.

#20318722 No Quarians in Andromeda

It shouldn't. I want to watch forums burn.

It's not. No endings, no impact. There are several threads with confirmations on first page alone. Accept it already.

Yes. and to accomplish that sensibly we definitely need no post-ME3 launch. And no Quarians/Geth.

#20318198 No Quarians in Andromeda

But they were accepted into galactic society after they retook Rannoch so why would they not be apart of the mass migration to Andromeda? Plus their liveships hold a lot of people and would be valuable for escorting some of the other races... and they would have adapted better immune systems by the time this game is released as this is what 100 years after ME3?

If the ship is launched after ME3 then the ending DOES impact the game. One ending sees all Mass Relays destroyed and every ships stranded in the solar system, one ending has Reapers all over the galaxy repairing Mass Relays. They are relays, whether the good guys can restore the Ceres relay without Reaper tech at their disposal doesn't really matter. They'd still have to fly decades long treks back and forth the long way all over the galaxy to even start repairs on connecting the Galaxy. A hundred years might be enough for Andromeda to take place in every ending, but no way can what everyone's life before entering the Ark can just remain unmentioned through the game. And then there's Synthesis to consider.

#20318071 No Quarians in Andromeda

This is a one-way trip, not Pilgrimage material. Any Quarian would have to an accidental stow away or completely at odds with his or her own culture.

#18907144 What is your Shepard's state of mind in ME3?

I like the Renegade options for the speech in ME1 when he first gets the Normandy. He's instantly gone full Captain Ahab about Saren.

Being able to import your Shepard so your statue can reflect him/her or maybe serve as the new Avina on the rebuilt Citadel is probably still an option. I'm sure some DLC will be Shepard fanservice.

#18797235 So if the ending choices can somehow be reflected in NME...

Any prequel would have to take place when humanity is still working to find it's place in the galaxy. It's a theme we explored thoroughly in the ME trilogy and I'd rather ME4 took place in a galaxy where humanity is just around as the equal of the other main council races.

Normandy SR-2. For one thing, I like the colours and the lighting better. it also doesn't have the floor and wall panels ripped off all everywhere at a time of war like the Alliance SR2.

#18793425 So if the ending choices can somehow be reflected in NME...

For many people it's a core part of an RPG. It's fine if your main definition of an RPG is strategic combat that relies solely on intellect instead of manual action skills, but for others its branching narrative or the combination of these two together. But since Mass Effect isn't an RPG in combat aspect (or influence on the game's world aspect), if we remove choice and branching narrative what else is left there? It would be just pure action adventure game.

Picking one ME3 ending for the starting point of ME4 does not reduce either too a mere action/adventure game.
