#20423192 Where will you go

Argh. Well, some ego's expected among board operators.

@'Miss, i don't mind jumping ship to another board but i'm going to wait until the smoke's settled, in case a different board's preferred later on.

Edit: fuggit. There's probably not enough content on one board to keep me nailed down so i'll join them all. :P

Sadly it seems the choice was made from Marketing and likely a bruised ego(s). Doesn't bode well for fans if BioWare doesn't want to support their players. I understand not wanting to foster the hate but there was some good discussions happening as well.

For now i'm going to stick to the board.net site 'less everyone recommends a particular board. What can i say, i'm lazy. I'll lurk this thread 'til the red eye of a Reaper spies it.

[If i join another forum and "Monk" is taken, i'll join up as "Monk_McMueller".]

The community is called : Bioware forum ps4 community. The primary language is Uk English.

How do you find it? I tried searching through the PS site forum but didn't have any luck, though i was able to find your PSN tag.

I think if i had a starting link, i'd be able to find my way that way, unless i'm getting too focused. Happens.

Oi, not good. I think everyone's in a bit of disarray because the users are losing (one of) their favorite board(s) and the mods might be out of a job unless there's an opening available elsewhere within the company.

I'll might switch back to lurker mode and join both the board.net and PS4 boards.

Well, if we make up some PSN accounts, maybe 'Miss can get us that hook up we need.

Edit: removed "fake" since creating a Playstation account is a no-brainer. Was expecting some weird resistance, though not sure why.

I'm a regular on game informer.com. My name is Miss Chanandler Bong over there.

PS4 communities are actually fairly decent to discuss things. If any of you have a PS4, let me know, I can create a Bioware community on there.

I hate twitter and tumblr, sorry. I have a Facebook but I like to keep it private for the most part.

Would it matter if i plan on buying a PS4 in the future? Just too poor for such a good machine at the moment.

Since the forums are being closed, do you guys wanna share where you'll likely land/head to next? I have my joke account on Twitter which i'll likely post some stuff. I have Tumblr as well, just not sure if it'll be the new focus for me "forum"-wise or not. Will have to see how it pans out.

#20410767 Why is bioware giving the official reveal on N7 day?

Does Bioware / EA really want to have their Andromeda reveal on N7 day?  That's one day before the presidential election.

Not really going to get much attention.

At least it'll give something for the adults to look forward to after the long lines at the polls (assuming they didn't just mail in their votes).

#20410561 Body Suggestions and reversals

Not even Saint's row has that (a gender slider). I feel like it would make Mass Effect be taken less seriously if you had a funny character (no offence to anyone I hope). Saint's row 1 had a gender slider, but they took it out because they said it was way too controversial. Not sure if they were joking about that tho XD

If i remember right, the body slider in Saints Row 2 was the gender slider, just renamed (per Volition Twitch cast). The only thing they didn't provide was a way to switch the genitalia.

#20408224 None of The Decisions Made in Me3 wont matter in Adromeda? WTH? Thats BS

Though the Reapers are technically not purely synthetic themselves. It's canon that they incorporate organic material and organic minds -- presumably in an Indoctrinated state to keep them Reaping.a

That's probably the most annoying part of the Reaper lore is where is this organic material stored? Nothing that i recall seeing from either Sovereign, it's remains or the insides of one in ME2 displayed a lick of soft-tissue. I know this is when the jazz hands appear but it's completely relevant as, even if say the organic materials are needed for completion, they're still primarily synthetic. Though i will replace "robotic" with "synthetic" in what i said, since this is more accurate.

#20408201 Do you think fans are annoyed with Bioware?

At this point, his mug should probably read "while heterosexual male tears" since a lot of the flak for games like Inquisition came from those screaming "SJW!" because Bioware dared have lesbian only romances, a gay only romance, and a transgender character.  Seriously, less than 5 percent of the total game and there were people that went insane over it.  And this is from the same dev that decided to relax their "censorship" and actually show quite a bit of nudity... if anything, Bioware bucked the SJW trend since some of those moments and DLC clothing can be looked at as the "evil" sexualisation (not arguing against those additions just to be clear).   I just don't get it sometimes.

Well, since "fan" is short for "fanatic", no surprise here.

#20408141 Ideal LI- female

I think something like Kerrigan would be interesting.

Hmm, if she has the original Kerrigan's personality/voice.

At this moment, i would say if they made Harley Quinn a possible LI it would be her. Except maybe not the random likes-to-blow-****-up bit. We should have nice things, occasionally.

I mean, just look at her. She looks so, fun:

#20408067 Yes or no: Surprise Romance?

If I remember right with Anders there wasn't really a polite "no thanks" option to him hitting on you, so even playing as female Hawke because I just couldn't stand male Hawke's VA in that game for some reason the whole thing ended up bothering me because I didn't like what the one and only dialogue option for rejection was saying.

Other than that, I don't mind seeing NPCs taking some initiative.

I think this is one reason why i couldn't stand Anders. He tries to hit on you then gets pissy about it if you deny him (you gain Rivalry with him if i remember right).

#20408057 Visit the Ark?

No, never. Once we get Tempest we make an oath to never step on Ark ever again. And all weapons and supplies will be delivered by space pigeons.

What kind of question is this?

Well, considering there are at least three Arks, maybe they mean visit all three?

Personally, I, suppose, as an extra in the game, visiting the Ark(s) would be okay but not as part of the game itself. I'd get tired of touring the large SOB pretty quick.

#20408044 How much of a say do you think fans should have in the direction BW takes ME?

How much of a say do you think fans should have in the direction BW takes ME? [thread title]

None.

But i do like "whipped cream on my pumpkin pie" so if BioWare, say, were to add "whipped cream" in the game, i would be very happy.

#20408023 Hair - Hopes and Dreams

I think BioWare just needs to be honest with themselves that players don't always wanna role play their characters the way BioWare envisions. So, to save our sanity, there should be a set of "stock" hairstyles that are always present regardless of the game.

#20408004 Do you think fans are annoyed with Bioware?

That's the question that really matters, because we are the ones putting food on the table for Bioware. Not the other way around. They literally cannot afford to alienate us......because without "us" there is no Bioware.

Andromeda needs to be miles above the original trilogy in terms of content fidelity. It's also a brand new chapter in more ways than one.

On the technical side of things, ME1 might've been a cumbersome little mess but it left a significant lasting impression on the majority of players, that's why the sequels sold as much as they did. If ME1 was trash and was shunned by players, there might not have been a ME2/3.

Now they're REALLY trying to convince us to basically forget the original trilogy because its events don't matter anymore where Andromeda is concerned. They're in fact putting more pressure on themselves than we are on them, because to completely overshadow the trilogy in that way, they'll have to pay close attention to feedback pertaining to what was done wrong in the first place.

How much exploration sucked in ME1 and how it was non-existent in the sequels, the steadily-worsening dialogue as we went from ME1 to 2 and 3, the embarrassingly high number of bugs plaguing ME3's Campaign mode (the only mode that really matters)......I can go on like this all day. All those examples just scream laziness.

Andromeda needs to be "da bomb" and NOT bomb.

I can't have my cake and eat it too, what the fhegrggaerl…

In other words, SSDD. Us fans, by our very nature, are never completely satisfied so are we annoyed? Always! Maybe a little, maybe a lot but always, always and also happy, happy because FaNs!11!!111

I wouldn't agree with the notion about the "no fans, no BioWare" though as, one, BioWare's no longer an independent company. Two, following one, as long as enough people like their games, the studios will remain open. While fans are guaranteed sales, this isn't as important for the survivability of the company. They're the icing for the company if the fans enjoy the games. This is most likely why they were collectively hurt we weren't thrilled with ME3. They might have thought they hit it out of the park and what they find out is that grand slam got turned into a pop-fly by a high-wind.

#20407982 Please no stupid fetch quests

I use them to support my arguments; not hide behind them. And it also indicates that at least some other folks share my opinion:

Spoiler

The problem with "game awards" is that, as far as i've noticed, a majority of them aren't awarded by industry peers but by media sites, which falls under hype not performance. Of the awards i'm aware of i think the GDC is the closest peer award having high demands for games to succeed before they get the honor of being rewarded.

#20407971 None of The Decisions Made in Me3 wont matter in Adromeda? WTH? Thats BS

Well, you can make a case that technologies are a natural occurrence too, since intelligent, technological life is a common natural occurrence in the MEU. Everybody in a Civilization game invents writing and firearms if they last long enough, for instance. Sooner or later someone's going to come up with the tech.

Doesn't work for Reapers, though, since they are a particular application of technology.

Not as a species but as robotic intelligences. Every organic, in time, creates an AI intelligence and eventually put said intelligence into robotic forms which resemble the creators. In the case of the Reapers, they're naturally the robotic intelligences of the Leviathan.

#20405355 Skillbased or classical ME-Classes?

Will the main character, Ryder, be able to chose freely from the skill-trees in ME-Andromeda or will the classes from the previous ME-games return, like Soldier, Engineer, Adept, etc?

Peronally I've alway liked the class-system in ME, it helped to distinguish the different player characters you create by changing the way you have to play the game.

I'm not seeing classes disappearing any time soon, though a change-up of the previous classes would be nice.
