read excerpts from an article about the new 50 Shades retelling - OHMIGOD, IT'S HORRIBLE. MY EYESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

That "Grey" novel - oh...God...seriously??????? If you want to read the article (REALLY NSFW BTW): http://tinyurl.com/ns57bcb

I've heard its like a poorly written version of 50 Shades. Which is hysterical when you consider the source material.
juil. 06 2015 02:55 -
AtreiyaN7
Yep, and I am sure that Christian Grey's p---- concurs. *snerk* I don't normally endorse burning books, but every single one of these 50 Shades books should be put to the torch. Ugh, Stephenie Meyer's books also deserve to be torched (seeing as her work inspired this fanfic-based dreck).

Your idea probably would jave worked out better - lol.
juil. 06 2015 03:19 -
SporkFu
hehe... well, it's just that the author seems to be kinda all over the place, with too much going on.
juil. 06 2015 08:11 -
AtreiyaN7
Oops - typo fix to my last quote: "would have" (not "would jave" - stupid iPad typing, grr).

is lol'ing at this author who is upset - upset because HE was stupid and submitted the wrong version of his manuscript to us.

And after dealing with all that other stuff, I finally got to his "new" manuscript and have managed to find at least twenty errors without even trying all that hard. Hello, author, the expression is "hopeless romantic," not "helpless romantic." Please stop failing at writing, punctuation, and life in general, dude. :P
juil. 04 2015 02:12 -

You know, when I was younger I dreamed of being a writer, and I never had any confidence that anyone would even look at a manuscript of mine. Hearing about all your, umm, adventures makes me think I should've taken a shot, heh. Ah well, maybe in the next life. Also I want to say that you wouldn't believe how many times I edit the comments that I leave for you before I click that button, just from knowing your critical eye. :P

revises her headdesking at author #3 (but entering the words "Chapter 1" when you don't actually have multiple chapters is still stupid).

FINAL PARAGRAPH (PART 3): With delusional rapture mantra of, “Iranian containment,” as the Islamic Republic of Iran’s irregular international wars spread to global pandemic levels, and stands on the threshold of becoming a nuclear power.
juil. 02 2015 02:18 -
AtreiyaN7
Riiiight - I mean, this final paragraph just screams rational and reliable. Honestly, judging by his crap formatting, inconsistent font sizes, bad section names (plus that "Chapter 1" thing when he doesn't have chapters), I thought he was a flake and couldn't possibly have been a real intelligence analyst. Don't they kind of expect you to be able to format a damned analysis properly?
juil. 02 2015 02:20 -
AtreiyaN7
Three hours later, I have absolutely come to the conclusion that a real, professional intelligence analyst could not possibly be THIS bad. His manuscript is only 54 pages, but I have been slaving away for almost three hours trying to straighten out this disaster of a manuscript. *sigh*
juil. 02 2015 04:19
AtreiyaN7
says genius author #2 doesn't understand that you START A NEW PARAGRAPH WHEN A DIFFERENT CHARACTER STARTS SPEAKING!!!!!!

AtreiyaN7
This idiot's Word manuscript is 176 pages of paragraphs just like that. Good luck reading it without your eyeballs exploding (I can tell you that I won't be reading it).
juil. 01 2015 11:01 -
SporkFu
It's like Notepad without the word wrap, and even then barely comprehensible. And yet, oddly enough, I want to know what happens next to Zeek, Mickey, out-of-place Britny and Mon... and dad?
juil. 02 2015 12:54 -
AtreiyaN7
lol!
juil. 02 2015 01:20
AtreiyaN7
screams with rage at the idiot author who STILL doesn't understand "hit the RETURN/ENTER key only to create paragraph returns."

Ohhh the spacebar/paragraph break guy. electroshock conditioning might work ...might.
juil. 01 2015 08:01 -
AtreiyaN7
Hahaha, maybe. I spec'ed Dorian with lightning on my last DA:I run, so maybe I should have him zap some sense into this doofus. :P
juil. 01 2015 08:39 -
SporkFu
There you go, a mini static cage! Every time his thumb moves to tap the spacebar, he gets zapped and his hand is automatically pulled back to his chest.

messing around in NVInspector and lowering my max CPU speeds (plus some undervolting) has improved performance.

Right now, it's pretty late here and things are basically working well enough that I'm just going to sleep soonish instead of staying up really late again - lol.
juin 28 2015 08:45 -
SporkFu
lol okay i don't blame you for that :D ... congrats on making things better so far, and good to know about the g-sync stuff as that's something I've begun to look into.
juin 28 2015 08:50 -
AtreiyaN7
Well, I don't think it'll cause issues for the majority of people, but if I don't have a feature on my system, I do like to turn it off just to be safe - lol.

Yeah that is kinda weird. That's how I always thought SLI was supposed to work too. Who knows, maybe it's an nVidia thing? Like. that's how SLI works with physx and everything?
juin 27 2015 08:15 -
AtreiyaN7
That is probably horrendously confusing. :P All I know right now is that when I'm in normal SLI mode, the second card is functioning and carrying part of the load...but framerates end up sinking through the floor (which is exactly the opposite of how this is supposed to work).
juin 27 2015 08:17 -
SporkFu
LOL, nah it's not confusing at all :P ... I'm a bit out of my depth, but I can tread water.

Oh good, that's good to hear. That spot of heat must be where the gpu processor is, but if it's not that bad then yay :D
juin 26 2015 11:42 -
AtreiyaN7
They way it's laid out, I believe the CPU is in the middle with the GPUs on either side. So yeah, everything around there is going to be a bit toasty - lol.
juin 27 2015 02:39 -
SporkFu
I was thinking about it a bit more,. and if that low framerate and stuttering happened really quickly after you started playing, then it wouldn't be a heat issue unless a fan wasn't working properly inside... so it would HAVE to be drivers.
juin 27 2015 05:34
-
SporkFu
I'm convinced that PhysX is the tool of the devil, or at least some nvidia technician who secretly hates gamers. I've had many issues with it over the years, particularly after driver updates. Er, maybe I shouldn't say that too loud. Anyway, I'm glad you fixed it :D woohoo.
juin 26 2015 09:53 -
AtreiyaN7
Hehe, fingers crossed. I need to do some more testing tomorrow to be sure, but I'm highly optimistic about it because of how fluid DA:I was (prior to what now looks like my successful fix, the game immediately stuttered within one second of me moving around - lol).
juin 26 2015 10:10 -
SporkFu
That's kinda why I wondered if it was maybe a heat issue. DA:I would get like that in my old tower case after a couple hours of playing, and it was the restricted airflow. Now it's much better. Anyway, good luck with the it the rest of the way :D

http://www.notebookcheck.net/Dragon-Age-Inquisition-Benchmarked.131101.0.html - You can see the numbers for GTX 970m SLI. I should be getting something close to those numbers.
juin 26 2015 09:17 -
SporkFu
wow if you do get those numbers I'll be jealous... a bit :P ...maybe its a heat issue?
juin 26 2015 09:24 -
SporkFu
i keep vsync enabled in my game so even on ultra settings i'm capped at 60 fps with my single 970
juin 26 2015 09:29

still wonders why idiot authors hit the space bar ten million times instead of hitting the RETURN/ENTER key like they're supposed to.

SporkFu
I can honestly say, the only time I've ever done anything like that is when trying to line up a quick table to print something out in Notepad... and even then it's mostly the Tab key.
juin 25 2015 08:10 -
AtreiyaN7
No tables at all, so there is literally no excuse for it in this author's case. It's a straight-up fiction novel - lol.
juin 25 2015 09:22 -
SporkFu
Lol maybe they wrote it in notepad? Okay, I'm reaching, I know, and believe me I'm not making any excuses for people who want to be published but can't format things properly.

You have more patience than I do. I can't leave a new game just sitting there. I HAVE to play it. I dunno if this helps you or not, but I've been using the 352.86 drivers for a little while now -- maybe 3 weeks -- and so far everything seems good.
juin 24 2015 07:12 -
AtreiyaN7
Yep, giving that one a shot now (might as well...) - got time to kill and it's not like I absolutely HAVE to kill orcs in Mordor tonight, lol.

What? Have you seen how fast those things multiply? :P
