You have more patience than I do. I can't leave a new game just sitting there. I HAVE to play it. I dunno if this helps you or not, but I've been using the 352.86 drivers for a little while now -- maybe 3 weeks -- and so far everything seems good.

@Spork: Yeah, that's just on my laptop - you would certainly get better results with a second desktop GPU. All I can tell you based on my experience playing the game (sans any hard numbers) is that DA:I was running as smooth as butter on the previous driver when I was in SLI mode.

Back when i set up my crossfire rig, this is the kind of thing I was dreaming of, and when you talk about a game like DA:I running smooth as butter, all i can think is, "I want that" heh. it's nice to see that it can work so well.

Hmm. I'm on on an SLI setup but when I went to play DA:I for the first time in months, it was running painfully slowly (after being incredibly smooth at much higher settings, last time.) I thought it might have been the DA patch I installed at the time, but perhaps it was the driver.

Major performance issues with the PC version - bleah. Well, I guess I still have Shadow of Mordor to finish (ordered a physical copy of Arkham Knight, so it might be a few days before I get it).

I am almost stunned at how totally stupid this story is now. In Chapter 14, Rasputin gets judged by the Romanovs and these heavenly beings/whatever called "Elders" (actually, I guess it's mostly the Elders doing the judging). The judgment involves illegal immigrant Porro okaying a ridiculous plan to have Rasputin's soul share his body. Why is Porro in Heaven? He had an accident in the desert and is having some sort of near-death experience.

I have now come to the conclusion that this author should've burned the notebooks in which she wrote down her dreams and all her notes and totally given up on writing. You want to write some history-based flight of fancy about the Romanovs in Heaven? Do that in a separate book. You want to write about illegal immigration and two guys in Mexico trying to get to America? Do that in a DIFFERENT novel.

P.S. Don't capitalize "Coyote" when you're using the slang term for human traffickers who smuggle illegal immigrants across the border (at first, I thought the author had some character nicknamed Coyote due to the improper capitalization).

@spork: lol - if you think that's funny, I should tell you about the manuscript I got from a guy who used to be in the Mob (allegedly) a couple of years back. He was writing about the End Times (having undergone a conversion somewhere along the way to being a total Jesus freak who believed that Armageddon was imminent).

No, that's fine! I totally agree with you - sometimes authors just go nuts with the fonts for no particularly good reason other than that they think the font looks cool. It's like that poet who used French Script MT for all her poems the other day...I don't think some of them actually take practical matters into consideration (such as keeping their readers' eyeballs comfy).

Yeah, see I probably wouldn't by that book of poetry no matter how good the poems were. Or at least I'd be disinclined to. It's a good font for titles maybe, small doses. But for extended reading? Plain, easy-to-read and not headache-inducing please.

Yeah, that's what I try to point out when I see an author doing something completely insane with the fonts or font styles. I always try to think about it from the reader's perspective.

Was not terribly happy to open an author's post-pub edit form and see 293 edits listed. :P On the plus side, I recall this author being pretty accurate when entering his edits during the normal editing rounds, so at least it shouldn't be a totally hellacious experience (I hope).

So, logic much, author? Why are you giving me instructions to type the words "CHAPTER 1" when you could have just done it, thereby saving yourself (and myself) a lot of time? If the goal here was to annoy the book designer, then mission accomplished. :P
