Let's just say that he was a teensy bit frustrated after having no ammo and being assaulted by an awful lot of Nazi slimeballs, etc. There were multiple deaths and some swearing.

Aaaaand that stuff alone offended me so much that I actually just requested reassignment without saying anything specific about why. It's so bad/blatant that I can't put my personal beliefs aside this time - am hoping that Cheri just gives him to someone else (I did qualify my e-mail, unfortunately, by saying that if no one else could take him, I would...so I might end up stuck with him - keeping my fingers crossed, though).

Yes - now try to imagine being a reader who has to read 654 pages EXACTLY like that with a ton of this run-on dialogue on every single page. I feel sorry for anyone who buys the book. Presumably, this author will not suddenly experience an epiphany and start correcting everything - unless the AR gives her my notes and she decides to listen to me.

lol! Honestly, some people should just KNOW that they suck at romances - this author is one of those people. But upon further reflection, her descriptions of croissants were almost acceptable. She kind of went overboard with the croissant thing...but it was preferable to the romp with Francois (or whatever his name was). Maybe she should try a cookbook instead. :P

I thought I was free, but no, the book designer who worked on the template managed to figure out what was wrong with the alt codes and fixed it - so I'm still stuck with her (for now at least - hmph). I did manage to dump a wacko religious author after looking at his manuscript (horrid formatting/organization of the kind that drives me nuts), so I guess I came out ahead. Better her than him. :P

It's sort of amusing on the level of reading one of those Nigerian scam-type e-mails with all the typos and the ridiculous claims that you've won a lottery (but just need to send some money). However, I suppose it's a lot less funny for anyone who's prone to falling for this sort of thing.
