just spent some productive work time rejecting improperly entered edits - whee!

It made me nominally happy to mentally go "nope" each time I clicked on the x button while I was rejecting them. I'm an evil book designer. :P

LOL Sweet

AtreiyaN7
also wants to scream at author #2 over his constant failure to actually type what's there in the book.

Every time I try to search for something, I usually come up empty because he entered the f---ing text wrong - and then I have to waste time searching for fragments or counting lines (that's if this idiot even entered the right page number(s)). After five rounds of very bad edits, I'm pretty p---ed off at this guy. *grinds teeth*

Not helping matters is the fact that the manuscript is one of those annoying, idiotic New Age books filled with babbling that I consider, well, stupid. :P

I hate your job

So do I on most days. *sigh* All I need is ONE halfway decent author to keep me from going bonkers.

Good luck with that

I'm a little conflicted about this. On the one hand I'm happy you got some bright shiny new tech. On the other I'm sorry you'll have to continue to deal with a bunch of ***hole writers.

Well, I tried waiting, but it looks like the menu is jacked on the website today. Instead of pork chops, I'm just having a burger, garlic fries, and a vanilla milkshake. Even if I suffer a gallbladder attack from this, it'll be worth it. :P

Belated typo fix: reboot - but yeah, I agree on the high probability that this will suck. That new guy playing Felix? Kind of reminds me of a bad version of Niles Crane from Frasier. Although I suppose that Niles was rather Felix-like in some respects.

Both of the leads are great, but ironically just not as leads. They die better in an ensemble ie friends and Reno.
févr. 08 2015 08:02 -
AtreiyaN7
@fort: I have to say that based on the clips, the major flaw seems to be the material itself - lol. Although I can agree that Matthew Perry seems to be better off in ensembles.

@spork: it's a very good thing that I had some books piled up and tv shows to watch - am admittedly going somewhat stir crazy atm, though.

Books, TV... good substitutes... for awhile, heh. I hope you're able to get back gaming soon. There's a big hole in the sky, ya know ;)

Heh, it it'll run what I want to run, that's for sure. Not entirely keen on dropping down to a 17-inch system from an 18-inch one, but the alternative is that hideous MSI GT80 Titan (more expensive and ugly as sin), which is probably heavier than my deceased Alienware M18x R1.

I hope you enjoy it ;)

I will - thanks! I was considering the Titan, but yeeeeah, I can't get past its looks, hehe.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/style-blog/wp/2015/02/03/harper-lee-to-publish-sequel-to-to-kill-a-mockingbird/ Interesting. So, she wrote it before she wrote 'To Kill a Mockingbird'...

Ah, indeed - that's interesting and more in-depth than that item on the news. Well, I guess we'll see how this turns out (assuming that they really go through with this).

Hmmmm.... sort like a literary time capsule.

wonders how this author managed to make a total of five errors in one edit (because, yes, he managed to do that).

so, bill his ass
févr. 03 2015 02:37 -

Well, the way things work in the editing rounds is different from full-service editing, and I can't go around editing someone's book on a grand scale without approval of the costs beforehand anyway. Nor do I want to in this case. I will be blunt and say that it would be like polishing a turd. There is no point.
févr. 03 2015 03:49 -

Well, its all winterized, and its afraid of the snow. Soon enough I'll have it out and about. Only motorcycle I ever owned that has a gimbled coffee cup holder and cruise control.
févr. 02 2015 10:56 -
AtreiyaN7
Hehe - I can't imagine actually being in the snow and surviving it. As someone from Hawaii, I essentially start freezing when the temperature drops to the low 70s/high 60s.

I lived in HI for almost 5 years ('90-'95). I hated when it got down into the low 70's. We had to break out the jeans and jean jackets. People from the mainland USA thought we were nuts. What was a real shocker was leaving HI when it was mid-80's and pulling into Yokosuka and it was Zero degrees outside and pouring down snow like a demon. Or Adak Alaska and 6 feet of snow on the peer. Pea coat? Who in the crap who lives in HI keeps a pea coat handy? I had to stand tops...
