Unfortunately, I've got no experience at all with the Civilization games. Maybe I just heard too many bad stories from my friends about their Iron Age society being blown to kingdom come by stealth bombers and whatnot.

Eirene, you're wasted. Get some sleep.
Osbornep- they fixed that level of imbalance awhile ago, though I will always love the game in which my bronze-age empire found a tank in ancient ruins.
Civ BE is different- sci-fi and stuff, which helps remove the threat of anachronisms. It's got game imbalances, but it's a pretty solid experience. The only Civ or 4X game which really felt like it offered role playing on how to play and conduct myself.

It's inspiring that I scored in the 160's on my GRE. It's sad that I did it after barely studying over a period of months. It's downright embarassing that I submitted a 30 min essay in 15 mins due to time confusion.
