Me too. I ended up buying a dual core extreme CPU with hyper-threading. So, if this does not work with my current motherboard, the next step is an upgraded motherboard. I'll get there..it may take a while, but I will play!!! ;D

Yes, that's how I have understand texmod.
I see no difference in my game but that's maybe because I run the Mass Effect exe as an admin and so I can't use the eyelash mode because texmode will not start the Mass Effect exe.. as an admin.

I am having fun playing Mass Effect on PC. I bought it last year and never played it much. Will end up with all 3, because they are on sale now... and I like it :D

I'm not surprised at this trend. That said, it would have been nice of Bioware to code a pop-up stating "Your CPU lacks the required number of (Hyper-Threaded) cores to run this game" rather than leaving people to wonder why they're staring at a black, never-ending loading screen.

I know, I read even some quad-cores won't work if they don't have 4 threads or hyper-threading or something like that. I think Intel, MS and Sony are all in on this... force people to buy new PC's or consoles.
