Grim: Yea, but I'll wait until the reviews before deciding whether to get it. Torment is a game that's impossible to write a sequel for. I know, they say it's a "sequel in spirit", but that doesn't really mean anything either.

I thought that about Baldur's Gate, but they managed to prove me wrong with BG2. Loved every second of that game. Except for the Demi-Lich. He was a jerk...

I was an early contributor on the Kickstarter for Numenera. So I'm locked in...and can't wait.

Checking the cable by changing it is the simplest thing to do , so you should do that first like David says.
Borrow one from another device in the house temporarily, preferably a better quality cable, and see if you still have problems.
Hopefully that'll fix it.
