So I've played it for a while, and while I enjoy it on a certain level, I would have to agree with some of the critical reviews that I've read. I do think the controls are kind of clunky and it feels off (I'm using a mouse and keyboard - tried messing with the mouse sensitivity in the game and am not quite satisfied). I get that it's survival horror and not a shooter, but still, things should be more crisp control-wise - sheeeesh! For me, though, it's still scary, and...

There is a fair amount of gore rather than building a major feeling of dread (other than my inherent fear of chainsaw-wielding maniacs who are nigh indestructible). It's still fun for me, and I do like certain elements like being able to use environmental traps against my enemies (successfully killed some zombies by tricking them into running into some tripwires, etc.). If you already like games like RE, it might be worth getting at a lower price. I can't say much about the VA other t...
