Somewhere around five years ago, I'd heard about the "human botfly" on the internet; I don't remember the context in which I heard it, but I decided that I wanted to check out what kind of weird stuff that was. In the process, I stumbled across a YouTube video of someone pulling 3-5 cm long larva out of another person's back, and ended up staring at the video repeatedly with a fascination bordering on obsession. I didn't stop getting the shivers for several days.
